  1. This happened in the last go round. Things got scarce, everyone panicked but it seemed like no one conserved what they had. By reading the forums it was almost like a competition to see who could burn up their stash the fastest. Come on people, use your friggin brains. We all get stuck in a rut but just have to stop and think of what we’re doing. Just because you used to burn through 200 rounds every range trip doesn’t mean you still have to. Make every shot count! I saw guys just aimlessly emptying magazines on 22’s and then bitch because they couldn’t get any more ammo. Don’t be that guy. rant off.
  2. I checked another load I tried. RMR 124 match-winner TC 3.7 Win244 WSP, 1.090 oal. Ten thousands diff on your OAL won’t make that much diff at lower loadings. I usually don’t get too concerned until you get close to .050 deeper with a near max load.
  3. Faster/different powder. Have you tried any of the VV powders?

  5. Haven’t tried tightwad yet but E3 works great. I have some & was going to test it to see how compatible it is.
  6. What vel are you shooting for? I had some 124 precision’s that did real well with 3.8-4.0 with Win244.
  7. Anyone got a semi? Could tell them we’re hauling ERS for our PPE.
  8. Dude you’re format really sux.
  9. When I lapped a few of my revolvers the charges that I used were around 1.0-1.5 g of 700X. You could visibility see the path of the bullet as it flew through the air. A couple of things worth noting are, 1- lapping bullets are lead bullets ingrained/coated with lapping compound. They are rough and drag heavily. 2- with charges that light if you held the muzzle up, bullets cleared just fine with a very mild pop and pretty much zero recoil. But holding the muzzle down would generally result in a stuck bullet in the bbl. What I’m getting at is with such a light load your efficiency and consistency is really gonna suck!! Trail boss is a easy cure for low load density or you could stuff your cases with kapok or similar fillers. The kabooms you hear of are detonations. Supposedly the primer flame jumps over the light charge and ignites it at both ends resulting in a shock wave in the center that detonates instead of burning. Like when your car pings. Just My 2 cents.
  10. I’ve heard that it’s best to set the timer after the bullets have come up to temp. That would probably add 10 min to the time. I would try a few to see if it helps. Sounds like they may have been in a hurry to get them done. My 2 cents.
  11. https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/289643-open-division-ear-protection/ Did you check here? https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/289984-electronic-ear-muff-recommendation/ and here?
  12. Kinda like my 405 load out of my 45 colt.
  13. Have you tried polartec extreme under wear or Under Armor with maybe a vest or Thinsulate pants, shirt ect? Could wear your coat until time to shoot then take it off. A belt over your coat might get too floppy if you know what I mean. I wore UA top & bottoms under insulated pants and shirt. I was comfortable in elk camp even when the water in your whiskey would freeze.
  14. Looks good! Clean? Accurate? Running at the velocity you want?
  15. ^^This is sort of what I was getting at when I first posted the question. More of a fun run. Didn’t think of others giving away the details or cheaters though. If everyone was individual and you were playing for a prize that might help. Ones that already shot it could help re-set. Maybe have to pay to shoot it to donate to the prize, a ham, turkey, box of primers, powder ect. Points would only count towards the prize or just winning for that stage. Just a thought.
  16. Hey, good idea to make what you have work for you. I’m curious about once you fire a round in your bbl can you just resize normally and have them fit? If you only have to size “other gun” fired brass in your special set up that wouldn’t be a bad thing. Once you had them all done that would be it.
  17. Is it leaving any marks on the brass? Maybe your brass is TOO clean and need s a little sizing wax to slide into the die. Either way you can at least send it back to RCBS for fixin if you get a Lee and then have a spare.
  18. That’s what I said in my previous post but everyone makes it sound like you can just adjust it to crimp only. I guess a punch or press is an adjustment eh?
  19. You can’t. It has to pass through the lower carbide ring to get to the floating taper crimp ring. Only way would be to press out the lower size ring and then you may as well just get the std crimp die. It’s generally not a problem with jacketed, just soft lead. Did you try running a stainless brush in your RCBS die? I had a similar problem and it was a small sliver of brass that was swaged into the crimp section with bullet lube too. A good cleaning cured it.
  20. Why do you have flared necks on your brass? The bushing dies are handy when you want to adjust neck tension for turned brass. Or for different thicknesses of brass.
  21. Having a single stage press around is still handy for load development and figuring out problems. Even if it’s just a used one or a cheapie. Also a hand primer to go along with it.
