  1. Are you talking loaded ammo? The ones I bought were just bullets. They were 10mm 165g RNFP that I wanted for plinker’s/practice in my new 10mm. Kinda wonder if they weren’t blems that Midway picked up cheap and re-boxed as they have done that before.
  2. 147 round nose, semi wadcutter, straight wadcutter, flat nose? Need to know what type of bullet as some seat deeper than others when your looking up load data.
  3. I bought the syntec from midway on a close out just to try. They sure don’t look like the pictures you see of them. Pretty lumpy on the top. They do shoot pretty good, just have to be aware of the seating issue.
  4. The newer seat/crimp dies seem to have a much longer taper on them than the older (80’s) dies. The older ones did the taper crimp at about the last .100 -.200 of ram stroke whereas the newer ones are more of a gentle taper right at the start. It makes for better alignment but also makes single seat/crimp more difficult. At least that’s what I’ve found between my old and newer dies.
  5. I’ve noticed that some of the coatings are uneven on different brands. The sides get sized but the noses and ogives can be quite uneven in thickness. I have some syntec that vary .010 in seating depth. If your giving them some room it’s not a problem but if running close some may not plunk.
  6. Noticed these on Fed Brass a few years ago. Looks like they seated the primers with about 90 tons. I first thought it was a optical illusion but a straight edge confirmed that the heads are dished in. Someone once said they called Federal about it and they were aware of it and working on a solution but that was four+ years ago. Doesn’t seem to affect performance or anything but beings most of you go through much more brass than I do I was just wondering if there’s been a change in the later brass? The real old stuff is fine and I’ve even noticed it on some 38 special & 44 mag stuff too.
  7. Sportsman got some Fed LP in. 1k limit
  8. Yes, H style and also Yes, uprights on inside to make them stackable. Might make a couple adjustable width for smaller targets too. I like your V holder but with our sandy ground I’d probably need a longer lag.
  9. Thanks AHI that’s what I was looking for and that’s even shorter than my guesstimate.
  10. I should have noted that I was making the bases from angle iron and using furring strips for the uprights.
  11. How long are the legs on most target stands? I’m building some and most pictures I’ve measured they seem around 2-2 1/2 feet which to me is too short. I’m thinking min 3’ with some angled tubes to stake them down. Any Suggestions?
  12. It also doesn’t hurt to take a bit of 90% alcohol on a Q-tip and clean and dry the contacts when replacing the batteries. Most all dry cell batteries gas off leaving a film on things that interferes with good contact.
  13. Anyone ever shoot a stage without looking at it? I mean like at a private club, walk up and shoot a stage just to see how a person handles it? Would be interesting to shoot it blind and then plan it and shoot to see what the difference in time would be.
  14. Pay attention to everything you do. Take your time and don’t rush and avoid distractions, ie kids, pets, tv, yacky friends ect. Take good notes of your loads and learn what you can on a single stage press first. They’ll make one mistake at a time while a progressive can make many. The Lee manual is pretty good for terminology and be careful with some of the YouTube vids, lot’s of idiots out there. When in doubt, double/triple check with another source. It may take a few minutes longer to be sure and safe but it only takes a millisecond to screw something up. Most of all have fun!
  15. My rest of 8/11 order at RMR showed up today so their still chugging along. I think a lot of places just quit shipping to catch up with production and will send a slug of bullets out in one swoop. Ought to really make USPS whine.
  16. Just ran some at 4.0g 244 and their right at 1026 FPS. The match winners are .550 which puts .21 in my case.
  17. Makes you wonder if they also had trouble getting materials. Heard of a couple other bullet companies that lead deliveries were slow because of the covid crap.
  18. Sorry this took so long but between high winds, fires, smoke and work it’s been nuts around here. That load with the RMR 124 Match Winners was seated at 1.093, 3.7g of WW244 WSP primer they run at 986 FPS. So a bump to 4.0g would/should get over 1000. This is out of a XDM 4.5”.
  19. I’ve noticed on my XD’s that if I just keep pulling the trigger my groups and accuracy are better. What I mean is once your lined up just pull it, no creeping, no pause, no hesitation just pull it back as fast as you can without moving the sights. A PRP trigger kit helps too. Have you also tried changing the back straps to see if that helps? But if the sights are lining up good then that’s not the problem. Holy Crap this thread is over a year old! I gotta start looking at dates closer. Anyway hope you got your problem fixed by now!!
  20. ^^^this Boss hanger gives you much more adjustment and Is rock solid. It’s amazing how much better your draw is with a solid holster and stiff belt. Shooters Connection ultimate belt was recommended here too.
  21. 1- You can either just size with the Lee std die and then partially size with the U-die beings you already have both. 2- Reduce the size of you M die on the end for less expansion. 3- Trade your Rem brass for something else. A Lee FCD won’t even touch the case because of it’s thinness.
  22. If it ever happens again squirt some lube down the bore from both ends to help with removal. Doesn’t matter what, just some sort of lube. I know it’s messy but it helps dissolve the crud from the squib partially burning. Not picking on you but did you happen to look at the round that you tried to chamber to see how far the bullet got pushed back into the case? Or if it did at all.
  23. My RMR order went through on 8/11 part of the in stock showed up last week but I think they are still catching up on the 124 HP’s. Jake said July was rough and it set them back to where orders would be 4-6 weeks out. Normally once shipped I get them in two days as they are close but the last batch USPS dicked around and it took a week. A week to go 160 miles. Such efficiency!!! That’s their biggest problem, in-efficiency. I have also seen USPS unloading stuff off of commercial airliners so they must just hitch a ride with anyone they can.

    XD/XDM

XD 45 here and has always been reliable. I actually like the way it fits my hand better than the XDMs I have.
