  1. Is it a 60 or 40 degree countersink? I’ve done that with a few when I’m too lazy to dig out the swager and it works. You may have to do more than just touch it though. Sometimes that crimp squeezes down a bit below where you can see the ring. A gauge works good for checking them. https://ballistictools.com/store/original
  2. Some sort of internet lies that they had to clear up? I hadn’t heard anything but maybe some of you in the know have?
  3. On the holstering I was referring to a previous discussion about shooting RFR & RFP in the same match and where shooters wanted to simply holster their pistol instead of bagging during the rifle portion.
  4. I also wondered why a chamber flag wasn’t used in a RFP being’s you don’t drop the hammer. Only problem I see is most won’t fit in a holster with a flag inserted.
  5. Have you given them the bent paper clip test to see if they have been overly stretched? Could have been shot in a huge chamber.
  6. The CBC will definitely change things. It’s thicker and tougher. Going by the volume chart helps keep velocity consistent. I have a few that I’m still checking to see how they compare with each other too. Some brands are made by the same companies too, ie Starline and Buffalo.
  7. Looking at that it appears that the round is too long. It’s hitting the ramp forcing the nose up before the rim can clear the mag and start sliding up the breech face and under the extractor.
  8. Silhouette isn’t quite as fine as TB but you usually use about a tenth less for the same or a bit more vel. Six months back or so there was a bunch of it around and no Silhouette.
  9. Don’t know if this will help but in my XDM the RMR 124 MW is touching the lands @ 1.107 and the JHP Nuke is at 1.080.
  10. The RMR Nuke would be their JHP. I think the nose is a bit fatter so you may have to seat them deeper. I’ve shot them and they’re as accurate as the MW.
  11. I eyeball the bell (M die) by setting a bullet in a test case but I do measure the crimp. I don’t have a set measurement on crimp because there’s so many variables. Usually I crimp .002 under brass diameter .1 below the mouth.
  12. 2X^^ like the match winners, nice clean holes.
  13. Think that’s what I’d do. I really like the way the M die works and if they make a funnel like it that would be the kitty’s butt. I tried some seat/crimp with coated and it just made a mess.
  14. Sounds like they have crimped pockets. Got a picture of some? I processed a bunch of misc brass and noticed that some of the WW were crimped while the Winchester headstamp weren’t. Don’t know when they started that crap but it’s real annoying.
  15. Or your ex-sister in law walks in right after you filled the tube and had pulled the hair pin and asks, “what’s this thing for”? Just as she pulls it out of the press dumping the whole tube full on the floor. That’s the fastest I ever saw her move in her life.
  16. I’ve only gotten through 200 so far but all worked well in all my guns, strikers and revolvers. Some people seem to have better luck than others.
  17. On my first set of Lee swage spuds the tips had fine machining rings on them and they did the same thing you’re explaining. Lee sent me some new ones that were smooth and it cured the rings of brass in the primer pockets. Might just take a close look at yours. I thought about polishing mine but they were replacing them so I didn’t.
  18. Anymore I don’t consider a “lifetime warranty” into a purchase. Too many ways out of it.
  19. Keep an eye out, sometimes Costco has that shelving on sale in the spring.
  20. I use target pasters right where I want to hit. Easy to peel off.
  21. Do you think the reason for the decrease was for safety reasons? I knew a fellow that shot IPSC years ago and remember him saying that there were quite a few kaboom’s because guys were pushing things a bit too hard.
  22. No he’s wondering why the vel climbs with the jacketed. Like I said once I started taking a black sharpie to the shiny bullets I had less problems and better readings, especially with lower sun levels.
