Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. I finally figured it would I think. It was more to do with the crimp and bullet profile. Took some messing around but shot two matches recently with zero issues. Looking into the springs' followers and baseball. Spendy! Probably going to get atleast 2.
  2. Well I took a bunch of ammo that was giving me issues. Mostly different OALs of the 124grn everglades RN. I essentially gave them all a bit more crimp, some light and some heavy. I had zero issues! Very strange.
  3. That's exactly what's happening. But it goes a little farther in.
  4. So both Beretta barrels are quite accepting. I barely seated a bullet in a fired brass and pushed in until the brass was stopped. Removing the round it barely seated with an identical oal of 1.266. Well over 1.169 max. This is what made me think the crimp was hanging up on the short feed ramp. Maybe it just hates these bullets at any oal.
  5. These were all just different loads I had reloaded for different guns. All loads I've ever made. Probably 40k of various 9mm, 40 S&W, 45acp, and .380 I've never encountered this issue over the years. All my pistols have been just fine with any round I've loaded. Until I tried using these 124grn from everglades in the two Berettas. They feed fine in my other guns. When the rounds jam. I can pull back slightly on the slide and the bullet will finish feeding and fire just fine. But nearly every other round it will start to feed into the chamber and get stuck at a 45 angle and hang up the slide. Doesn't matter what Mag. Heading to the basement now to try the OAL plunk.
  6. That's exactly what I did. I have several rounds at different OAL each with light and "heavy" taper crimp versions. Be looking to test this weekend hopefully.
  7. Yeah "hated" was ftf or jammed at an angle in the chamber. But thats the wierd thing. The 124grn RN from everglades did the same thing at 1.10 and 1.135 OAL. 147grn RNFP the same. I guess I can try 1.145 or 1.155 I'll check out that article.
  8. I originally started with 124gn RN from everglades 1.10 oal. Beretta hated them. With both my berettas in fact. 125gr Blue bullets & SNS rn & 1.135 oal & 1.145 worked fine. I loaded 124gr RN from everglades at 1.130 and had failure to feed/chamber every couple of rounds with any mag I tried. I have 10. I noticed the poly bullets I loaded had a little bit more crimp. That's what led me to that. Perhaps it just doesn't like everglades bullets. It also hated 147 RNFP from everglades at 1.10 oal but worked fine with BB & SNS 147 RNFP at a longer oal. I thought the longer OAL with the everglades would help but I guess not. All rounds passed case gage.
  9. I've never measured my bell and crimp. Usually just enough bell to not scrape the blue coating and the Lee FCD is set up for 1 half turn after touching the case. No setback when pressing on the table. Recently I've noticed my new 92x performance does not like to feed 124grn everglades RN bullets 1.1, 1.125, 1.135. FTFs them all. Loves blue bullet 125s at 1.125. Thinking about crimping a bit more. I noticed the BB I loaded had a bit more crimp than the EG. Something I've never paid attention to before.
  10. Happy to report I successfully shot may rounds without issue. Round nose 124gn both poly and copper at 1.125 & 1.135 no issues. 147gn poly RNFP at 1.145 & 1.150 shot great and 147gn copper RNFP at 1.140, Looks like it the spaghetti shooter prefers the longer rounds. I guess I'll keep the 1.10 OAL stuff for my CZ and SIGs.
  11. Pistol has a few hundred rounds through it now. Initially lots of failure to feeds and failure to extracts. Installed a WC +50% extractor spring and that has seemed to help. Still getting failure to feeds. The round jams at an angle in the barrel like a tilted follower or something. At 1st I though it was a mag issue but I've tried 7 different mags. I am believing it may be a certain OAL ammo I loaded for my CZ at 1.10 124grn RN. At least 1 FTF jam each mag. It seemed to like longer ammo. But I need to test more. Most recently I noticed when I take the barrel out the locking block will fall out. The plunger and pin are still in the barrel. My 92x centurion does not do this. I'm wondering if my barrel or the locking block is out of spec. Could this be causing the gun to be ammo finicky?
  12. You have a link to the washer?
  13. Any particular reason you want to build this vs buying? I wanted this configuration and bought a SS MR920L.
  14. Its also a 4.4" barrel so it should be a Xshort not and X5.
  15. I shoot 3.3 grains of Sport Pistol with 147grn Blue bullets 1.145-.150 OAL. Nice soft shooters. My wife like them too, standard ammo has too much "kick" for her.
