  1. If you get a chance to compare them please let us know what you think. I have a 5" gun and am thinking about getting a MM but feedback is hard to come by.
  2. A Time Sert is a threaded insert that is used to repair damaged threads or change the size of existing threads, they are threaded inside and outside. What I was curious about would be smooth on the inside and chamber reamed once installed.
  3. I'm sure this idea will be shot down in no time, but would a special Time Sert type insert be feasible to convert a 38 Super barrel to 9MM?
  4. I have Joey Hardy, stainless and Arredondo, plastic and they both measure .070 I'm partial to the Arredondo. Tim
  5. Just don't shoot any of that .308 or you'll have to BOLT IT TO THE WALL!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I think the Stinger was a 3.9 And the Match Master/Steel Master is a 4.15 and I think the MM/SM have a full length recoil system which I've been led to believe is way better. Tim
  7. Could tell better with some pics but I would say you should be ok if its a drop in (non gunsmith fit) barrel.
  8. I am also considering getting a Match Master but can't find anybody with experience shooting one. If anyone owns one or has shot one can you please share.
  9. You could just take the G19 as a parts gun, to rob if something breaks. Most parts that you might need are the same. Tim
  10. I have 2 open guns with KKM barrels, they are tack drivers but if you ever have a problem with a KKM barrel (like I have) your most likely on your own. After reading this thread I think I would go for a Schuemann or Briley.
  11. I'm not a 1911 historian like some of you. But I was led to believe that the South American Ballester Mollina made under license from Colt during WW2, not having a grip safety allowed it not to be mandated?
  12. I've had a Pocket Pro by Competition Electronics for along time. It was cheap does everything I need it to do and has been really durable, all the clubs I shoot at use the same timer. Tim

    slide rails

Not far, the rails are harder than hell. If you try to bend them they will crack out the side of the frame.
  14. I used to be sponsored by Oregon Trail/Laser Cast Bullet Co. and shot thousands and thousands of lead bullets in Glocks. Use a good quality bullet (hard) and practice good gun hygiene and you should be just fine.
  15. I'm on my second sleeve first one were brass last ones are nickel both work great. Tim

    slide rails

Do not try to bend the rails on the frame, trust me that is not the ticket to tighten up the slide to frame fit. To tighten the slide to frame fit you work on the slide and you have to know what your doing. Tightening the slide can enhance accuracy depending on your barrel fit, but will mostly help your trigger. Tim
  17. I read that their are only 2 poisonous critters that will bite or sting unprovoked, the black widow and the scorpion.
  18. Is the Clark carbon fiber handgaurd any good or is the glued barrel nut a weak link?
  19. They use black rubber matting to keep loads from shifting in trucks, that's what I have on my bench. I ship large rolls of paper and use about 8 of these in each trailer, the ones we use are 4' by 21" if you lived close to me I'd give you all you need. But I think if you know anybody that is involved with trucks they could get some for you. Tim
  20. For me the transition was not bad at all, I went from frame mount (SV) to slide mount (Glock) and back to frame mount (STI). My big problem was beating the sight to death, I was using a Doctor on a major 9 Glock. It was bullet proofed on three separate occasions but would still stop working at the most inappropriate time.
  21. Good information, I'm surprised the T-1 works so well with major loads. I'll take all the info. I can get on these barrel/comps. and the STI Match Master. Thanks Tim
