  1. I have the exact same barrel and comp. as XRe. No popples total of 11 holes works great for major 9.
  2. I have basically the same gun with the same problem. What I was told to do and has worked for me is every so often (after about three matches) I take the Aftec out and put the hook facing up on the work bench and push as hard as I can. You wont think you are doing anything they are really hard, but when you reinstall it you should have the tension you need. Next time I have mine out I'm going to see if removing a little metal at the front inside of the extractor tunnel next to the breach face might fix the problem permanently.
  3. A little target tape over the speaker on the Pocket Pro while dry firing will make them wife friendly.
  4. I had slide mounted Doctors and J-Points and they just didn't hold up to the beating. The Doctor on my main gun broke three times before I threw in the towel. It wasn't bad when it worked but unless bullet proofing technology has progressed by leaps and bounds I'd go with a frame mounted C-More. I have three Glocks with SJC mounts and C-More sights and much prefer them. But like someone else mentioned you throw the slide to frame fit into the equation so the slide to frame fit has to be tightened.
  5. I already own the Griptilian, a girl friend got it for me after I lost my Benchmade Mini AFEK. What I was curious about was the S&W auto, here in liberal Oregon somehow they forgot to outlaw, tax or over regulate auto knives. So we the non felonious public are allowed to carry them. The Benchmade Axis Lock is almost as fast. I just always wanted an auto but it would be a work knife so I didn't want to spend a lot.
  6. Mr. Jones your knife collection is incredible at first I thought you must have gone into a well stocked knife store and taken a couple of pic's, until I read on. I just carry a Benchmade Griptilian, but I have been looking at a S&W Special Opps Auto. It's inexpensive at Sportsman's but seems well made anybody have any experience?
  7. I wouldn't go with a plastic magwell again, I broke 2 of the early delrin ones they just don't hold up to heavy use. +1 to the Dawson and SJC I have a Dawson where I want weight on my limited gun and SJC on all my open guns. If your looking for something smaller Lightning Strike magwells aren't bad.
  8. SJC plastic frame 34oz., SJC/CCF steel frame 49oz., 5 in. STI 44oz.
  9. Your right about polarized lenses killing Holosight's. That was my experience with my Ray Bans and a first generation Holosight on my open blaster long ago.
  10. 6 140mm mags all with Taylor Freelance base pads, no problems.
  11. when i changed to dillon dies a few years ago i noticed the hour glass shape and called dillon. they said that was the way their dies were designed to resize and just go shoot. so i did, thousands and thousands of times no problems.
  12. Do you mix one part lanolin and 9 parts rubbing alcohol? You said lanolin and 90% alcohol? Thanks Tim
  13. +3 on SJC i have 2 of them and you absolutely can not do better on a Glock open gun.
  14. I have three open guns, all are major 9.
  15. If you have shot ammo with Federal primers you should check your striker. I've pierced Federal primers flame cutting the tip of my striker causing it to have light strikes. All the other suggestions are more likely but this does happen, more with 9MM Major.
  16. In Handloader Magazine #224 Aug.-Sept. 2003, author R.H. Vandenburg and producer Primex state that WAP and Silhouete are the same. And load data is interchangeable.
  17. I also have a CCF aluminum framed carry/nightstand gun. It is smooth, tight and accurate the gun has a Lone Wolf slide and a stock g17 barrel. Although I don't have anywhere near as many rounds through it as I do My CCF open gun it has been 100% reliable since the very first shot.
  18. I have a Nickson gun, he is not a crook.
  19. I used to shoot for Oregon Trail Bullets and I shot Glocks almost exclusively. All my guns eventually ended up with after market barrels but I put thousands of rounds of lead through a stock barrels. Like others have stated the key is good bullets (hard) and good gun hygiene. The Oregon Trail bullets are great but are as expensive as jacketed, I haven"t seen any good cheap lead bullets out there lately. Just shoot what you have keep it clean and wait for a deal to come along.
  20. I'm not sure who your asking BlackBuzzard ? I have 2 open Glocks both built by SJC one is a CCF steel frame and the other is a Glock frame and both are 9MM major. The 9MMM guns can be a challenge to get to eject reliably. John lays hands on all the areas you mentioned, the ejection port is lowered I can't give You the exact spec. I don't think the ejector is lengthened but the front is shaped to kick the brass out at just the right angle. The extractor is tuned and spring tension is altered and is very critical. The last generation of SJC's C-Mor mount is a little bit higher and a little bit to the left which helps a lot.
  21. I shoot mostly open now but I love my g35 and will never get rid of it. You can not put a 40 cal. barrel in a g34 the outside dia. is smaller on the 9mm and the barrel walls would be to thin. You can go with a 9mm conversion barrel on the g35 or change your recoil spring and load to 130 p.f. your limited to 10 rounds so capacity isn't an issue. With the Glock what will tighten up your groups more than anything is a good trigger. Mine has a Briley barrel and will shoot 2 inch groups off a rest at 50 yds. with hand loads.
  22. Putting in a stronger mag spring may help but chances are in a war between your big fat thumb and a fully extended mag spring your thumb wins. If you have an extended slide release you might want to exchange it for the standard one. If you want to see if it's your grip shooting strong hand only with large hands you could still be holding down the slide release, you might want to just put a couple of rounds in the mag and be aware of your grip, try this several times and see what happens. One last thing check to see that your mags have the correct followers.
