Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. That one looks promising http://www.mrbulletfeeder.biz/ .223/5.56: The small rifle calibers are not yet available, but will be after the summer, we expect to start shipping rifle caliber bullet feeders by September 2012. A new dropper system has been developed to handle these very small and light bullets, and their performance is every bit as good as the pistol calibers. Especially with these small and difficult to grab bullets, a bullet feeder is a must have item. .308/7.62: The large rifle calibers will also be available later in the year. Note that the rifle calibers do not include or require a custom powder funnel.
  2. Perhaps I am missing something, but they appear to only offer it for Hornaday? http://www.sinclairintl.com/reload/kiss-bullet-feeder.aspx
  3. Just curious if anyone knows why Dillon doesn't manufacture a bullet feeder for their progressive reloaders?
  4. Just curious if anyone else had run into powder leakage issues using varget?? I typically loose 3-4 granules of powder on every throw. .308 cases as well as .223 It's as if there is some kind of mild static charges that holds a few granular that come loose just at the rotary plate advances the cartridge forward.
  5. Bingo! The blue tip had opened up wide and letting the primers flow right out. Many thanks guys!
  6. OK Guys, need some sage advice. I think I am too deep in the forest and can't see the trees anymore. My Super 1050 just recently started dropping primers. This afternoon I loaded 500rds of .223 and there were 125 primers beneath the reloader when I was done. They were in perfect condition. No Jams, No mechanical problems. Its just DUMPING primers. This has to be something really simple and I am looking right at it and just not seeing it. SUGGESTIONS?
  7. My bench continues to serve me VERY WELL. Nearly a year later and I am still quite happy with it.
  8. Finally ready to start on phase two. Have 15,000rds of .223 to load up now! Bench is still going STRONG!
  9. Just a followup. I have now had the bench in use for some 15,000 rounds on my Dilon Super 1050. This bench has been ROCK SOLID. And I never did bolt it to anything. It doesn't budge at all !! And the ballast of 15,000 rounds of .308 on the lower shelf helped to settle it down all the more. Could NOT be happier with this bench. Should last me the rest of my life!!
  10. Thanks for the comments. This is more of what I was looking for.
  11. Thanks. I am surprised that this didn't generate more replies. I would think this would be an issue that many others have considered over time.
  12. Thanks for the suggestion. Your the 2nd person that has said the same thing.
  13. After many years of being OUT of the reloading and shooting sports arena I have come back in recently. I have 3 brand new Robinson Arms XCRs chanmbered in .223/5.56 These are the 16 inch "light" barrel variety with a 1 in 9 twist. I would like to load up 10,000 rounds of ammunition and am now begining the process of searching our the best general purpose bullet to be used. So, I am looking for input from those that have already gone down this path? Should I just be sticking with the SS109/M883 round, or are there better alternatives that I should be considering at this point. I am NOT looking for match grade loads, but a home made alternative to buying military grade ammo that would be more efficient and effective.
  14. UPDATE. First time I have had any time to go down and fool around with the reloading press. I tried simply SLOWING down my stroke. Pausing at the bottom of the stroke for 1 second, and pausing for a moment JUST before the case comes out of the powder fill. Everything was left EXACTLY as it was the last time I did this test. So nothing has been altered. Results. 46.5 46.4 46.3 46.0 46.1 46.2 46.4 46.9 46.9 47.0 46.7 46.6 46.7 46.7 46.9 46.8 46.6 46.8 46.7 46.6 PREVIOUS TEST LOW of 44.9 grains HIGH of 45.8 grains CURRENT TEST LOW of 46.0 grains HIGH of 47.0 Grains So by slowing down I have added a full 1 grain to every throw!! The spread is still 1.0 grains from High to Low, but it seems to be clustering better as i slowed down more and more. Towards the end the varience was only 0.4 grains AND. By pausing for just a moment on the up stroke, just before the case clears the powder die, I can stop almost ALL of the extra powder that was falling all over my bench.
