  1. The X5 Legion seems to be the new go-to option for most people because of 1. The weight and 2. Not being DA/SA (consistent trigger pull every time). With aftermarket triggers, people have got them down to 2 pound trigger pulls, and they also have pretty good ergonomics (very 1911/2011-ish). The downside? Sigs have large slides and high bore axis. They have a bit more muzzle flip than other striker fired designs like the CZ P10 platform or Glock-based platforms. However, the extra weight probably helps counteract that a bit. I'd like to start seeing heavier tungsten-infused frames, like the Legion has, become available for CZ P10s and Glocks. If Zev was smarter and/or cared more about the competition market, they'd make a full steel grip for their OZ9 platform. They already copied the 2011 design with the separate grip and receiver. The platform is ripe for a heavy steel grip now. Someone just needs to machine one.
  2. Looking at options for a Glock 34 length slide for Carry Optics. Anyone have a list of some of the lightest options available?
  3. They are pricey, but I've had good luck with the JP bolts.
  4. Cool, I sent him a message. I actually live only about an hour and a half away from him. So, maybe I could just drive down there and take it to him if he was willing to do it.
  5. Have you tried an OEM extractor or an aftermarket billet extract, like from LoneWolf, Shadow Systems, or Spinta Precision?
  6. Same here. Ordered all the parts to put together a new slide. I will be using 0 Zev parts other than the steel OZ9 receiver and polymer grip. Hopefully, I'll have no issues, but will let everyone know when I find out lol
  7. Sounds awesome. I didn't know he was willing to go down that low. I've always heard him warn against that when interviewed, etc. Does he have a listing for the specific trigger somewhere or did you just call and tell him exactly what you wanted?
  8. From what I've seen, the bottom cuts for the basepads on even the 2011 MBX mags are really inconsistent. Some have huge gaps. Some don't. Some are loose. Some aren't.
  9. They sell the same KC G34 length slide in black cut to use an RMR/SRO. The Bushnell is only on some of them.
  10. How long ago was that, and how much did it cost? That's the lightest I've heard of. I know D.C. Precision gets their guns down to about 2 pounds, but not sure what exactly is used.
  11. The Superlative Arms is the best design, IMO. It gives you the most control.
  12. Was told the new trimmer and primer system are just due by the end of the year now. I think they've had supplier delays. Was told they'd get the Lyman Pro Dies back in stock in July.
  13. It definitely made this gun a little nose heavy, whereas it's very balanced without the frame mount and optic. That might be something that makes me change over to one of the smaller optics.
  14. lol yeah, it's big. I have an SRO and Sig Romeo 3 XL too. Going to test all 3 out to figure out what I like the most. I already use the 510C on some PCCs. So, I wanted to give it a try.
  15. In case anyone was wondering if the 510C would clear the racker on the Honcho, it does... or, at least with the Atlas 510C mount, it does. Some pics of my gun (I'm the OP) in a 3-gun open configuration with the single port comp barrel for minor ammo:
  16. About the dislike of polymer mags: Do you only use metal mags in AR15s? just curious. The vast majority of people only use polymer...
  17. The one and only reason why the steel glock mags are better for use with extensions is the lips on the bottom where the extension attaches is stronger. Supposedly, some people have had the lips break off when dropping the mag. I haven't had that problem. I have the full size extension (brings capacity up to 57) on an OEM 33 round mag, and I've never had an issue with it.
  18. Sounds like you're talking about Max Leograndis running the extra long Harris bipod on a stage a few years ago.
  19. The AR Gold and TriggerTech Diamond are what you're looking for. The Diamond is just a little bit better. It has less creep due to the unique roller design. I actually have one set at just under one pound in one gun, and it functions 100% reliably. This is the best AR trigger on the market, IMO.

  21. I bought the same setup. Also, got the 10.5" barrel. I have the handguard and barrel here, but I'm waiting on a new upper receiver to come in before I put it together. My current upper setup is 16" BSF carbon fiber barrel, APA The Answer brake/comp, Coda Evolution carbon fiber handguard, Blitzkrieg hydraulic buffer with short stroke weight, & a 1 pound TriggerTech Diamond. It's extremely reliable and fun as hell to shoot, but I was interested in this because of the better weight distribution, and I think the shorter barrel and open gun style comp on it should make it shoot a little bit flatter, but we shall see. If nothing else, it looks cool as hell and gives me a backup setup
  22. 115s with short stroking is the way to go. Cycles much faster. Felt recoil doesn't matter. Only how much the dot moves.
  23. The IPSC gun's barrel just has a shorter sight block. It might also have a smaller magwell (can't remember). It's just slightly dimensionally smaller to fit into the IPSC box. I wouldn't bother unless you plan on shooting IPSC. I would consider getting the single port comp barrel if you plan to shoot 3 gun though. This would allow you to use light load minor rounds and still make use of the comp for a flatter shooting experience. They say that the 3 port barrel needs about 150-155 power factor to cycle properly. While you can probably find some factory ammo to use with it, with the single port barrel, you could have a lighter overall setup and run ammo down at the bottom of the minor power factor range, like around 125-130. It might even cycle below that, like maybe 110-115, which could be cool if you want to use it for steel challenge. Personally, I think the Honcho is a better value than the Atlas or others. You get more for your money, and you are less limited. You could get both a slide ride mounting plate and have the frame drilled and tapped for a frame mounted optic and choose what you want to use for different things. If you get a good race holster, I think the single port 9mm barrel with a frame mounted optic is a pretty ideal setup for 3 gun & minor ammo, but I still like having the ability to change things up and run a slide mounted optic with a more normal holster if I want to.
