  1. How about spanking the monkey.
  2. James Austin moon clip server and 2 North Mountain singles. Best of both worlds. Use the singles for loading off the table.
  3. Order another and then you don't have to switch between large and small primers.
  4. Every clip of mine goes into the cylinder and then cylinder closed and spun prior to a match or even local match. Wrong time to find out that clip is bent or you have a high primer or something else is wrong with the moon clip is when you are doing reload during a match.
  5. VV N310 at 2.8 to 2.9. Can't remember the OAL but I think 1.160. Great load for ICORE.
  6. 150gr Rogers Better Bullets in Short Colt.
  7. I like the fact that I only have to reach for one place to grab a clip and i don't have to look down. I do keep 2 single North Mountain on my belt for off the table loads. I use the James Austin with my 8 & 6 shot. Best moon clip server.
  8. You only need to make 120 pf for ICORE
  9. 7 are for sale on GunBroker right now. The rare are the 27-7, 27-8 and the original 627 with the 6 1/2" barrel. Now I know someone who has the market on the 27-7's. For a good cigar he might let you touch one. . I forgot to add nice pick up on the revolver as the last one I saw on GunBroker went for over $1500 if I remember right.
  10. I'll bet you will have to pull some strings to get rid of that username! Now that is funny
  11. Never had interest when short colt accomplish the same thing.
  12. What distance to target and why not shoot .357 or .358 bullets. The barrel is still .357 isn't it?
  13. Give it a while then they will hit the market like the 610 and the 38 supers and they will bottom out. Then buy and enjoy. Until then my 38 short colt loads will do just fine and I have a gun that will shoot short colt, mid colt, 38 special and 357 mag. I can shoot steel, ICORE, USPSA and hunt deer with it. Let's see a 929 do all that and I only have to have one brand of moon clip or no moon clip at all.
  14. I understand yours and Lewiston's point of view but I still don't agree with that it will happen to all who shoot matches. I hope that when my shooting days are over I will be able to still claim that I was never DQ'd. The example of the gun being snag by the fence tells me the shooter was not aware of where the muzzle of his gun was at all times. He should have been able to recognize the possibility of a snag and when close to the fence make sure to keep sufficient distance to avoid a snag. The RO jacket could have been avoided if when the competitor holstered his pistol and before he removed his hand from the pistol he locked it in. Then the jacket could have never pulled it out. As for yours my friend that is why I no longer use a CR Speed Holster as I had heard to many stories of guns falling out and when I am unsure that I can perform a task prior to the draw without compromising my revolver in the holster I leave it locked, It may add a 1/2 sec to the draw and that is a 1/2 sec well spent to avoid a DQ. Again all could have been avoided if all things had been done as stated above. Maybe I am to cautious or anal, probably the latter as I have been called a A-hole and I thought they were just stating how anal I am. :roflol:I think I have hijacked this thread enough and hopefully Robport you will never experience a DQ in your shooting career.
  15. I think we can agree to disagree as I have competed in matches from local, area, nationals and international. I do think that there are a lot of competitors out there that have numerous "matches" under their belt and they have not experienced a DQ. Saying that because you are a shooter and that you compete in matches you will eventually DQ is like saying that if you fly airplanes or fly in them it is the nature of the beast that you will crash or experience a crash. Same for anything in life that you do. Again can it happen, yes it can. But will it happen for sure as a known fact, I don't think so. If I ever DQ before I stop going to matches it will be from a mistake that I made by not preparing myself properly for the task at hand. Not because it was my time. Dean
  16. I don't believe #3 will eventually happen as being part of the sport. I have heard this comment a number of times and it makes me wonder why someone would tell new shooters this. I have been shooting for 37 years and not once have I been disqualified or for that matter a number of my friends and acquaintances over the years have shot safe and responsible. Yes it can happen but I would not say that it will eventually happen.
  17. There is a 27-8 on GB for $1399.00 with no reserve it has a 5 1/2" barrel. I shoot one and it handles really sweet.
  18. 10mm won't fit but maybe a 9 or 10 shot 327 mag. If I only had the money to experiment.
  19. Congrats to Mike and Sam Carmoney for pictures in Front Sight. I think I will bring my copy along to the Mid West Regional this weekend and have them sign it if they have the time being a celebrity and all. ;-)
  20. Google Julie Goloski V-comp and it will get you to pictures. Work was done by Apex Tactical
  21. Somewhere on the revolver forum there is a picture of Julie Goloski Golob V-Comp that had the barrel lightened you might want to go that route. It has the cool factor and reduces the weight. I have been contemplating this for my V-Comp.
  22. You will lose the forcing cone or the throat in the cylinder when you do this and a lot of gas will escape out the end of the cylinder. It will make some difference but not that much. With the trigger jobs that can be performed now days it is better to spend your money on a high quality action job. If you do decide to do this you will also have to set your barrel back and extend the forcing cone and you will need to have your throat taylor throated or reamed to some degree because your bullet will be coming from a straight bore cylinder. I know all this because I had this done and put a 38 super barrel on it. Funny thing is that I have V-comp and it shoots just as well.
