  1. I like the Dawson on my other pistols (partridge versions) because the front facing part of the sight has a recess for the lite pipe so that you get a nice, crisp, even dot.
  2. Cool. I think I'm going to order a 120x100 Dawson from Freedom.
  3. Damn! You took the whole family to the range! lol
  4. Sounds like you need to fit your disco. There's another thread with someone having a similar issue. The underside of the wings on the disco are probably not clearing the trigger bar after it has released the sear. You need to carefully remove small amounts at a time until it clears the trigger bar.
  5. Are you shooting 40SW out of your Tanfoglio? I measured my factory sight and it was .146" high and was thinking of getting a .160 H to lower the rear sight and figured .180 would be too much? I got my Dawson RO front sight from Freedom Ventures. I think it's .040 fiber but I'll verify later.
  6. Thanks. Hmmm, I may look into a Dawson or Henning. Do you recall what height and width you got? i recently installed a Dawson fiber front on my Springfield RO. I was thinking of giving Classic a try this season.
  7. I had a similar problem when I installed a pre-b disco. I had to remove material under the wings (see C in pic above) and a little off the top so that it could clear the trigger bar.
  8. I'll check mine when I get a sec.
  9. Nice job you did there, despite the few slip-ups. Thanks for the detail pics.
  10. Makes sense. These mags are pretty pricey in Canada. I wish we could buy these mags for $25! Damn it!
  11. Has anyone switched over their front sights to Dawsons or Hennings?
  12. Why not just squeeze in the feed lips and replace the mag springs? If you are replacing the recoil spring because it is weakening or lots of mileage, might want to change out the FP spring, sear, trigger and extractor springs too.

Earlier shipments came with a wide and thin left and a skinny right.
  14. My LNL AP has been pretty solid the last 3yrs and I bought it used at a steal of a price too from a guy who said it had issues indexing every so often. I got it, read the manual and Youtube vids about adjusting the pawls. A couple minutes later, no more indexing issues. Once in a while I'll pop the primer guide rod off but mostly due to loose powder causing a slight jam.
  15. I'm using a stock FP with RP FP spring with a 10lb mainspring and stock hammer. I shot about 1500rnds with 100% ignition with cci primers. my FP channel had a lot of tooling chatter and I polished it and the FP. Also, make sure you are seating your primers fully. All this light primer issues had me scared so I recently installed a wide competition hammer.
  16. There's only one spring behind the plunger. Yeah, I almost lost my plunger the first time I took my Tanfoglio apart.
  17. Easiest way is to remove your barrel and use it to "plunk" test a dummy round ie seat a bullet in an empty case, drop it into the chamber, push down on the round then flip the barrel end over and see if it falls out freely. If it gets hung up, give your seating die a 1/4 turn snd repeat until the round drops freely. Start with a 10% less than your regular powder load and build up a few batches, increasing powder weight to your regular load. Chrony and check for pressure signs on the spent cases, obviously starting from the lower powder ones first. Reason being, different manufacturers of bullets have different ogive profiles. So someone might give you a seating depth for Berrys when you're using Zeros etc. congrats on the S2!
  18. The competition hammer (wide) does hit harder and I noticed that the trigger broke a little crisper. I don't have any scientific data other than comparing how high it launches my pencil. I'm on approx 4k rnds through my thick buffer. It's gotten stained yellow now from the gun oils and shows no signs of breaking down.
  19. Interesting. Maybe the engraver got carried away and just ran them all as "Limited Custom" lol Same roll marking as my 2018 Limited Custom but mine has slide porting on it to reduce weight. What's PD doing to the barrel?
  20. Good stuff! Sounds like a fun Saturday. lol Are you going to run it with a thumb rest?
  21. Hmmm. I just left the factory one in and was just waiting for it to break down. Might give the thin a try.
  22. So, how did it go? How's the Xtreme trigger/feel out of the box?
