  1. The different shape of the bullet will affect the oal. I always adjust my dies to suit the profile and maintain similar oal. Both approaches should work to decrease pf but it depends on the oal you gun likes for feeding purposes. Though im generally switching between 180s and 200s and I maintain a similar oal for reliability and just change the powder dump.
  2. Nice. That thing should be a blast to shoot.
  3. Haha. I do need some rich friends to buy all the toys for me to play with.
  4. I love merrells for an all around shoe but Salomon speedcross 4 are sweet for loose dirt and gravel but do t wear them if I have to go on wood platforms or other smooth surfaces since they are cleats.
  5. I love n320 overall. The price per round isn’t that much more than other powders. I do use wst for my practice loads mainly because I still have 16 pounds of it.
  6. The U die is just so convenient on a progressive press though. I wish rollsizers weren’t so expensive. Or a way to automate a push through.
  7. A guy I shoot with sells nickel Glock slides for polymer 80 builds. They are pretty sweet other than the sun gleaming off them.
  8. Haha. Indeed. Hope the wind doesn’t blow also
  9. I love shooting 40 minor with 180s and 200s. Feels like cheating.
  10. Seems easier to set one up for each division and maybe carry the other with you as a parts gun if anything breaks on whichever one you are shooting at the time.
  11. I grew up in Del Ray in Alexandria. 4.6-7 should pretty much put you in a good spot. Of course a chrono is a good thing and work up the load.
  12. How hard is it when it cures? Does it get eaten up by mag insertion?
  13. I was running 4.6gr @1.135 under a 180 blue most matches. It ran about 167-168pf. I bumped it up to 4.7gr for majors and was about 172-174 in 90 degree weather. Double checked my load data and updated above.
  14. I tried the thug plug on my gen 4 34 CO gun and it didn’t really do much. Doesn’t add much weight. For a gen 3, a Seattle slug cut down to match the profile is a better bet. It will add more weight.
  15. Yeah. I load about 135 pf using 180s and 200s. It is ridiculously soft shooting.
  16. if you can go with a 17 mos for CO you have the option of shooting prod or Ltd minor if you decide that you don’t like CO.
  17. I started with a 35 in Ltd and ran it for a while and then picked up a 2011. I miss the glock so I now play around in production with some 40 minor. Haven’t messed with an open glock though.
  18. I like the extra weight of having an aluminum base pad for extraction. If you want to go on the cheap, get 1-2 glock mag + basepads for primary and secondary mags and use magpuls for the non-reload mags.
  19. so much really depends on what division you want to run. With a 19 (doable although not ideal), I would run production and just do sights, grip tape or stipple, minus connector and a red hill holster or even just a basic blade tech and have fun. Or put a red dot on it and shoot Carry Optics. Doing more than that and you are at a serious disadvantage in the other divisions.
  20. I have been using Winchester SPs (when I can't get Federal) and i occasionally have an out of round one that I have to tap on the primer tube to get it to go into the press's tube but the primer follower rod is enough to keep them flowing during loading.
  21. Red Hill is also a good choice. I've never had him make one for a pistol with comp though.
