  1. Not a bad little gun for the price. Mine shot quite high, and since it doesn't have adjustables, you just have to know that when you shoot it. Also that little sucker has a little kick for such a small cartridge. Let us know how it goes. Pk
  2. comp tac paddle when I can wear a jacket, and a galco "Royal Gaurd" inside the waistband holster is real comfortable in summer time with a shorts and a teashirt.
  3. If you shoot quite a bit, or shoot competively its definately worth reloading, you will eventually pay for whatever machine you buy and then some. You can customize your loads to your liking. I would reccomend buying a dillon machine, because they have a no BS warranty. If a part breaks call them up and tell them what happend, and they will send you a new one. They are top notch.
  4. good one Athena LMAO
  5. I noticed your grip on the mag, was a little off. your index finger should ride in line with the front spine of the mag. As if you were to insert your finger into the gun.
  6. i would guess that the same people who are giving you a hard time, probably can't shoot a lick. keep doing what you are doing, this is not war its a game. You do what you do in order to win. Forget about what other people say, or dont, tell them off. I dont care, just dont make this sport work, keep it fun and keep it something that you can take pride in and enjoy. thats what it was meant to be. If they want realization, tell them to join the army and go fight in Iraq.
  7. if you are really interested in being a good ipsc shooter than you need to have the desire to want to do good. Paying people to teach you will not gaurantee you success. I would buy as many videos of top shooters and read as many books and go to as many matches as you can. Talk with some of the good shooters in your area and do lots of dry fire drills. I have seen people spend thousands of dollars on 2-3 day trainings that they didn't get squat out of, or forgot what they learned. At least with videos and books you can always go back to them.... Also buy yourself a video camera and video some of your matches and really critique yourself on how you could have shot the stages better or more efficiantly (sp) and then take that to your practice and work from there, but you have to have the desire to want to succeed or you will not..... Pk
  8. If you want to play IPSC and your reloads are not that good, than yeah get a magwell. Or dont, but almost everybody does, because its just a game. do lots of dry fire mag changes and eventually you will probably not need one, but it does help to have one.
  9. Its funny but in practice when I try to speed up. I am usually shoot about the same time, maybe just a little faster (not really that much difference) then when I shoot at my own pace. Maybe I am thinking go fast, and I get tense and it actually slows me down. And latter in the practice session when I am more relaxed, the speed starts to come. But I am an advocate of always pushing yourself to the limit especially in practice, and it should carry over to your matches. I think one of the best ways to speed up, is to speed up your transitions, and not really so much your split times. Try cutting a tenth off your transitions, then you will see some blazing times. I think alot of us see people shooting fast and think thats the way to speed up. But speeding up the time between targets is where you can gain alot of ground. Pk
  10. Yes they will and then some, not sure on the figures, my guess would be around 180pf out of my stock glock barrel
  11. Do they have a website? I tried doing a google search and pulled all kinds of non related sites
  12. Wow! thats pretty impressive considering all the possible no shoot penalties they had at the match.
  13. 38 was best after 10 min playing. Good hand/finger and eye exercise
  14. Bout time Scott, Oh and by the way thanks for getting us all squaded together for Space City. Pk
  15. Do yo have a lightened striker spring? that can usually causes light primer strikes.
  16. I will tell you what an older gent told me when I got dqed, "there are people who have been dqed, and there are people who will eventually get dqed"
  17. JFD You might try selling them and maybe trying maybe Taylor Freelance base pads, if you haven't modified the Dawsons, or just use the Dawsons for L-10. Thats a decision you are going to have to make. I understand you have spent alot of money on this gun, but then again we all have in this sport, some more than others. You just need to get a reliable setup that satisfies what your looking for. As far as the lightned striker spring, I am going to have to argue with you again, lol. The trigger is ohh soo smooth, but you may come across a problem with light primer strikes. If you reload you may want to use Federal primers, it might help. But I have tried the lightned striker spring and it was good for about 400 rounds than I would have rounds that wouldn't go bang, and thats all you need when you are shooting a match. I have heard some people say they have no problems with them, maybe its my gun. If it were me and this setup worked I would definatley not leave the gun cocked, in other words not have the spring under any more tension until it is time to shoot. I just think the spring is about weak is it could be, without further weakening it. just my .02 cents. PK
  18. Sure what exactly do you want pictures of and I will pull out the trusty ol digital camera JFD Sorry if I came off harsh there, about ditching the dawson's,but I have no problems switching over to Dawson basepads if I were to get an extra round or so. I guess I have been fortunate to have success with the arrendondo base pads
  19. That is not my experience. Paper Killer, do you have the new (tapered) mags with the #6 followers? I have both Dawson and Arrendondo extensions. I had started a thread on the "new" tapered mags and the #6 followers. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?...topic=24168&hl= Rereading that thread, it seems some are missing the fact that the mags are now different. Flex I have the No.6 followers, which I believe what comes with the new glock mags. I can easily fit 20 in the mag and one in the pipe. The only problem that I can recall was due to a bullet that wasn't sized all the way down and wouldn't fit in the barrel, but that was due to not chamber gauging the rounds, after other than that its been flawless, knocking on wood. lol Pk
  20. Ditch the dawson extensions and get some arrendondo, I can easily fit 20 and have not had a problem with them
  21. stick with Ralph's setup. I believe the springs that he uses are from Wolf. I have his mag extensions on my g35 and they work great. And he does have good customer service.
  22. A buddy of mine had this happen to him and the ejection port was bent a little bit and he put in a vice and ever so slightly bent it back, and started shooting it again. where you using a factory barrel when this happend or an aftermarket barrel?
  23. Slightly off-topic, but I'll submit the weirdest .40 "blowup" I've ever witnessed - or will likely ever witness - or certainly hope I ever witness... .40 round lodged in muzzle of a .45 Kimber... What a .45 looks like after such treatment... A young shooter with a brand-new, borrowed .45 Kimber drew on the start signal, only to get an empty "click" when he dropped the hammer. He slapped and racked, then...BOOM... As nearly as anyone could figure, he'd chambered a .40 round on his initial load. When he dropped the hammer, it drove the entire round into the barrel. The .45 set off behind it lodged the .40 in the muzzle, detonating it, and, of course, rupturing the barrel. Took several folks and some heavy blows to beat the gun open to clear the line, whereupon the Kimber's owner sadly gathered up the remains and shipped them back to the factory for salvage/rebuild. Felt a bit like the old, cautionary duckhunters warning about mixing gauges, and setting a 12 off behind a 20 in a shotgun. Certainly a cautionary tale for those of us who switch off calibers!!! I have seen this same scenario at a local match did about the same damage to the gun.
  24. I use Nike land sharks, light and good traction for everything except wood or smooth surfaces, and if thats the case then I just switch to the good ol fashion running shoes.
  25. I would say get a 3.5 connector,a good polish job and shoot the heck out of it and don't get a reduced striker spring. Especially if you are going to use it for concealed purposes. chances are you will have it loaded with one in the chamber and that could further weaken the spring. The reduced striker springs can have a tendency to cause light primer strikes, even without keeping the spring compressed. Like they say "murphy is alive and well, and what could go wrong will go wrong" so its better to be safe than sorry especially when your life could depend on it. PK
