  1. good info to know. I know it takes 4.3gr of tg to make major for me. Same gun setup. I am using precision delta 180gr and loading to a legnth of 1.133 on avg, wsp, also factory crimp
  2. sorry to hear that about your friends guns. If the guns are fUBAR then I would break them or cut them into pieces and just throw them away. Or take them to the local police department and I am sure they could dispose of them (Be sure you tell them what you are doing, and maybe get an escort, before you just walk into a police station with a couple of guns)
  3. I agree, sweet setup. Now all you need is a *thumb rest [generic]* for that racer
  4. its a bad picture having problems with my camera. But basically its a tack nail that has been carefully drilled and placed behind the ejector and filed evenly with the housing, so that it will not rub against the bottom of the slide. If you look closely at the blurred picture you can see the tack nail. You will have to take some material off the trigger to keep the trigger safety working. but no overtravel at all.
  5. Your absolutely right I was thinking of a stuck slide. Yeah you can rack the slide back and then proceede to take off the back plate and then take out the striker and internals, once you have done that than you can relase the slide stop and take the slide off.
  6. uh oh, what did ya do Erik?if you cant pull the trigger the slide wont come off, unless you come in from the back plate of the slide and push down on the cruciform to engage the strker(iits like pulling the trigger) but you may have to destroy your back plate to get to the cruciform
  7. I will have to put a picture of it when my digital camera decides to work
  8. I just so happen I shoot a guys xd 4" gun with ported barrel today. Was a real flat shooting gun and was pretty impressed. the guy said he had some feeding problems and that it was ammo finicky, the slide would not put the gun in full battery. I am a die hard glockster. The xd is not a bad gun, but then again it is a copy of glock in many ways. Me personally I would go with the glock, more rounds, proven reliable weapon. Like I say the glock will eat dirt and shoot rocks. The best thing to do is try them both and see which on works for you, but dont go cheap when it comes to your equipment especially if its for your life and the life of others. the cute guns that I have stay in the safe, the glocks are my battle guns. As far as the GAP, good place to buy clothes, that it. PK
  9. It is your trigger spring in the main housing near the connector.had the same problem during a match, and the gun would still shoot, but when slide came back the striker wouldn't catch on the cruciform consistantly. But if I held the gun a certain way the striker would catch. without the spring(thats glock for you, eat dirt and shoot rocks). DNF the stage. Went to the truck put in a new one and finished the match. Oh and by the way it was a wolf extra power trigger spring that broke, went back to factory one and have had no problems since.
  10. yes it is legal gun. you can practically do everything except a magwell and any other external mods. no weights on the light rail, which is stupid to begin with. what I believe most people in do in uspsa is: adjustable sights (dawson, heine) lighten recoil spring is ok 13lb or lighter if you can(ISMI) 3.5lb connector would be good or Ralph Sotello trigger job. or do the .25 trigger job yourself. you can change out your barrel if it is the same length. grip tape or tape under the trigger gaurd is ok Alot of the things you can do that are performance enhancing, are ok. If they can't see it, its probably ok. If you have any specific questions call them directly. hope this helps.
  11. I am a big astros fan, and I thought our game was disapointing, I cant imagine what the angels team and fans are feeling right now. that umpire blew that call, and cost them the game, and if the angels lose the series, you are not going to hear the end of the what ifs.
  12. great site, the only thing they forgot was to put a blank for how much time you spend doing it, and how much that is worth.
  13. egw undersize die for your first stage. thats all
  14. Is that Ralph Sotolo? John <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I keep hearing about this guys trigger work. sounds like he's got something good going on. As far as the titanium striker, never tried it. I have tried the wolf 4lb reduced firing pin spring. I used it when I was shooting my factory Remmington loads, and was getting light primer strikes about 1 out of 100 would not have enough power to ignite the primer. But it did make the trigger pull so much lighter. What exactly does ralph do with the trigger job? right now I have polished the internals. Put a lightend safety plunger spring. increased the trigger spring weight. have an over travel stop. Pinned the conector housing to decrease pre travel to none, when gun is cocked it automatically goes to the reset position. You might think this is real dangerous, but I have done my own torture test on it to try and set it off couldnt do unless the trigger was pulled. So far happy with this setup, but always up to hear other peoples suggestions and or oppinions.

    Dawson Sights

Dawson makes a really good sight. As far as installation, its fairly easy to do, but much easier if you have a rear sight drift. Be sure to locktite it,especially the 2 hex screws in the rear, if not it will move. Been there done that.I have bought 2 sets of sights from them, the only 2 complaints I had was the screw they sent me with the front fiber optic was crooked, and was a booger to get on, and it didn't go on. I called Dawson, sent me one in the mail (Thanks Dawson). The other thing is the rear sights are sharp, I mean if your holster is close to your body and you bend over to pick up brass or a steel popper and that sight hits you, it leaves marks, but other than that I have been happy. Oh and by the way you may want to get some extra fiber optic for your fronts.
  16. kkm precision is a great barrel. It has better accuracy than stock, plus not worried about shooting reloads through. no need for gunsmiths for custom fit. I have heard of other people having feeding problems with the storm lake. +1 on the kkm. Plus it looks cool
  17. I agree. Used Flitz and a felt bob, polished all internal moving parts. you can see the wear on the different parts. polish them to a mirror finish, and be done with it, no need to take metal off. Just asking to go full auto. Although that would be cool too.
  18. Have Dawson's on my 34 and 35 set up, would never recomend a non adjustable sight. the Dawson's are good. the only complaint I have is the rear sights are sharp. I have also heard that about the heinies, like its been said easy to change out front sight.

    Grip

I think your week hand thumb, should be on the frame, and strong hand thumb on top of the drum stick of your week hand thumb, and both thumbs pointing at target. But thats me personally. the week hand thumb in front of the center axis of the gun helps in reducing recoil. As far as your slide stop, I use to have the same problem. the slide stop could be a result of your lack of grip on the gun, or strong thumb too close to slide stop. I would say if it continues switch to flat slide stop. Hope this helps.
  20. I agree, I use 4.3 gr of titegroup thru kkm precision barrel, precision delta 180 gr. OAL 1.135. shooting g35, makes major. Hopes this helps
