  1. There is no happy sorting by hand, it is the most boring job there is to do. But unfortunatly thats probably the best way to do it. I have heard of people using strainers and such, but you will be shaking for a long time, when you wont get it all anyways. there will be cases inside of cases. like traxman said, find a nice comfortable chair.
  2. 9mm glocks seem to do that, not sure what you can do. but yeah it can be annoying. I guess just shoot on the move
  3. just curious what kind of bullets(mfg, weight) and what is your oal. Also what gun are you shooting it through. It just seems to me that wouldn't make 125pf, unless your oal was short.
  4. When you take your concealed handgun test and you make one big hole in the head of the target with all your rounds, and the instructor just passes you because he can account for all the bullet holes.
  5. I have the smaller dillon tumbler, and it crapped out on me withing 6 months, called them up and they told me to send it back and they replaced the motor, now the switch is messing up. i hate to spend another $16 to send it back to them, for a switch problem. If I were you I would probably look at buying a different brand. I am going to use this tumbler till it dies, but the motor shouldn't go down in 6 months, and I am not hard on my equipment. I guess that is the only Problem I have had with dillon equipment, everything else is great. Good Luck PK
  6. .243 is a real good gun for deer, as far as recoil, he's probably only going to make one shot at a deer. So to me, I wouldn't think recoil would be that big of a deal. You could try a 25-06 or 270 with a recoil pad.
  7. I load to that length with no problems through my g35, with a kkm barrel. I also use 4.5gr of titegroup which I believe is a faster burning powder. I get around 170ish pf. Since its a glock I am not worried about cleanliness of the powder, or if the bullets are lead exposed or not. In fact I just got through cleaning my gun last night, and its been at least 3 months since my last good cleaning, and I shoot at least 2 matches a week. But back to the subject, you would not be pushing the envelope with your loads, in fact the loads you have posted look right. good luck PK
  8. trying to find out what my national percentage is in limited-10, shot a 12.787hf on this one today. Does anyone know what the high hit factor is for this one? Thanks PK
  9. I use zero's HP in my open gun, so my comp doesn't get too cruddy. but as far as the other guns that I use I use precision Delta amunition, for 9mm, .40 cal, .45. seems to be the cheapest jacketed bullet out there right now.
  10. I use Nike landsharks football cleats. I gave up on the running shoes along time ago, and have never looked back. Pretty much good for all surfaces except smooth surfaces.
  11. if its your only pistol, then yeah, carry that one. Better to have some sort of firearm than none at all. Later you might want to upgrade to maybe a glock 17 or glock 22(if you can conceal it, some people go to the smaller glocks for more concealability). usually gun fight scenarios include multiple advisaries. Thats why I like the glock so much, because of the mag capacity and reliablity. I think its always good to have those extra rounds, because you never know how you may react or shoot when the s**t hits the fan. Usually they happen at night, so night sites would be important that are sighted in to a nats ass. If using a 9mm, use good hollow points, you don't want the bullets going through the advesary and hitting an innocent person. You want the bullet to stay in the body. But alot of problems can be avoided by the way you carry yourself. Criminals usually pick on people who look like they can't defend themselves or people who look like easy targets, to get what they want and leave. Almost like animals in the wild picking the weakest animal for food.
  12. master blaster bullets are not copper, they are coated here is a link: http://www.masterblastersbullets.com/page14.html
  13. I was even thinking of trying the masterblaster bullets and see how those run in my gun. I never understood the need to shoot the most expensive bullets down range. Your just putting a hole in paper, why not use something cheap, that does the same thing, with some accuracy.
  14. I saw the results, way to go Athena!
  15. I am curious since some shooters use .355 (9mm) for a .356(super) would it be safe to say that you could use a .356(super)for a .357 magnum or .38 special. I know this a drift, but always wondered about that. PK
  16. I would like to add last oct. I talked with Jerry M. about the world shoot this one with the high percents from other parts of the world. The first day Jerry had no vision he said up until mid second day did his front sight vision come clear. He told us that he was getting a pounding from these guys and it wasn't until the last part of match that he pulled it out. All I'm sayingf is you need all the facts.Numbers are just numbers if you don't have and the info. Point taken, HOWEVER, we are talking about our NATIONAL classification system. Mr. Lopez and Mr. Bjorn ( both VERY accomplished wheelgunners) do not regularly shoot in our region, nor do they contribute to our classification system in any regular way. Please list some people IN REGION (the US) who can hang with the demigod of revolver division...Mr. Miculek. I think our very humble revolver forum contributors (Walsh, Carden, Carmoney and Keen) are about the only ones within 10-15 percent of him at nationals or any other major match for that matter. We are trying to keep up with the likes of a legend like the late Ed McGivern (sp?). How can that be the only measuring stick??? didnt Jerry have the Bird Flu at the time of World shoot not taking anything away from the other competitors, they shot an excellent match. what I would like to know when was the last time Jerry lost a match in revolver?
  17. The GSR looks good but their extractors suck! I am looking for a good 1911 myself and I am looking at maybe an STI, or possibly a kimber. Good Luck PK
  18. you can use either one, but find out which one shoots more accurately. I personally use the .356 in my super
  19. this is my recipe: 124gr precision delta mixed brass 4 grains of titegroup oal is 1.16 federal 100 primers using a kkm barrel in my g34 puts me right at 130ish pf, 3.8 was just a little to slow, some would make pf and some would not, you might be able to settle with 3.9. But every gun is different. hope this helps PK
  20. Congratulations BJ! You got your GM card the way it should be earned through winning a big match. I saw you shoot stage 6 at Space City. All I can say is you were smoking. Now the real work begins. Good luck PK
  21. i guess you were pretty lucky to be able to get a 13lb to work in a 22, most of the time it takes a 15lb, on my guns its the 13lb for the 9mm and 15lb for the .40 cal.
  22. adding more powder doesn't bother me, actually I heard a guy tell me to load the rounds hotter to effectively work the comp, don't know how true this is. I just want to know if adding blow holes will keep the gun flatter. The gun shoots sorda flat, but if I can get it flatter I will. I notice that most of the GM shooters have at least a couple of holes in the barrel. It seems to me that if the gasses are being pushed out of the barrel more towards the center axis of the weapon, that it would stabalize it more. I guess correct me if I am wrong. PK
  23. no I don't plan on pulling out the ol craftsman drill for a project like this. Of course I would send it to a smith who has delt with this before. I can only imagine what the underside of a slide would look like if those slide holes were not placed properly. I have seen blast sheilds that look like someone took a chisel to it. So you would reccomend an oval shape cut or slot cut on the slide to ensure that the gases are being released into the air instead of under the slide? I guess that could also act as slide lightning to, although thats not my intent. does anyone have a pic or can take a picture of how thi is supposed to look like Thanks PK
  24. Here is the situation. I have a .38 Super Trubor STI factory pistol. Is there a difference in recoil by adding some blow holes to the barrel and slide? I also understand that recoil is percieved, but want to hear from guys and gals who have used both. If it noticably flatter, how many should I get and should they be angled forward towards the muzzle end? Also since adding blow holes will require drilling into the slide, should there be concern for rust, on the slide or should the holes be done in conjunction with lets say a hard chrome, or some sort of finish to prevent rust. Also I have seen some other open guns with blow holes added in which they put sort of a cone shaped hole into the slide, and I have also seen where the holes in the slide have been offsetted to compensate for the slide traveling rearward. I guess they do this so the gasses are not blowing underneath the slide. Which way would be the way to go? I guess if anyone out there has done this could you post pictures of your hybrid setup, and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks PK
  25. how are these bullets? Are they pretty dirty and smokey? just curious went to their website and the prices seem pretty damn cheap PK
