  1. Does very well with 185 gr jhp loaded hot real accurate but it is loud with pretty good recoil.
  2. I'm really liking this powder here are some targets, my favorite range load is 3.3 grs with a 147 acme flat point loaded to 1.15 oal and its moving about 915 fps out of my g-34 it's shooting a 2-1/8" group at twenty five yards about 850 fps out of a sig compact with very good grouping.
  3. I would start at 4.5 grs and go from there if it was me.
  4. I've been shooting 3.3 grs with the 147 acme fp and getting 135 pf out of a g-34 with a kkm barrel, 2.1/8" at 25 yards rested. Really liking this load. Also Getting 125 pf out of my sig 320 compact with good accuracy.

    Carry load

This is my carry load cci-500 hornady Nickle brass 124 gr rmr jhp 1.090 oal be-86 5.9 grs 1250 fps. Out of a g-34 1220 fps out p-320 fs
  6. If you not worried about a little extra recoil 5.4 or 6.0 grs of power pistol with a good 124 gr jhp set to the right oal is one of the best that I have ever shot in my g-34.
  7. Range results for sport pistol powder and prima v. Got out this morning and shot some ten round groups thur the crono with my g-34 and sig p-320 full size. Cci-500 win. Brass sport pistol 3.3 grs acme 147 gr flat point 1.15 oal sig full size vel 877 Es 33 sd 10 Group 1.3" at 15 yards using rest for all cci-500 win brass prima v 3.2 grs acme 147 fp 1.13 oal sig full size vel 854 Es 14 sd 5 group 1.6" cci-500 win brass sport pistol 3.3 grs g-34 vel 905 Es 24 group 1.3" Brass came out of the gun looking about the same, couldn't tell if sport pistol was any cleaner then prima v. I shot some mags of prima v and sport pistol Bach to back and they both had about the same amount of smoke. But the sport pistol was more accurate then prima v and the sport pistol does meter better . I was having trouble with my glasses fogging up due the hot and humid conditions, the groups probably would have been better if it had been a little cooler outside and I had been shooting several groups staining my eyes. I do prefer sport pistol over prima v.
  8. I've been running acme bullets lately and I do have to say they shot great and they have a very nice coating on them.
  9. You can get amce 147 coated for .0704 cents each with the forum discount delivered do your door that's for 2500 bullets. Very nice looking bullets shooting real good for me out of my glocks and sigs.
  10. Sv is suppose to be similar to clays, wst prima v is suppose to be like titegroup I am currently using prima v in 9mm with 125gr/147gr bullets minor power level loads and can't find any complaints with it at lower power loads.
  11. I have been using the ssp glasses for about a month and I like them. I'm using the right lens only with the yellow tint. My normal reading glasses is 1:75 and I got 1:25 in ssp glasses and is working great. You have to remember that front sight is farther away then your normal reading distance so it's takes less strength lens for the shooting glasses. The front sight is very clear for me and the target is a little blurry but not that bad. The only thing is you have to get use to putting your head down just a little but that may be because I have gotten use to putting my head back trying to shot out of the bottom of my other glasses with the byfocals lol.
  12. I have a half of a dozen of them in four different calbers ,bought one new and one upper the rest was bought as part guns have not had a minutes trouble out of any of them. They are very easy to assemble and work on if your not in a rush to get one and you don't mind doing some research you can have the satisfaction of building your own and you'll know how to work on them and fix them if you ever have any problems in the future.
  13. I hope it's a clean burner it seems like every powder out there says clean burning lol.
  14. What kind of brass is it sounds like you have a piece of brass that has a step in it maybe? I would take it a part and investigate what's going on or just try a different piece of brass and see how it goes from there.
  15. Welcome to the forum. I done the same thing I shot some in the late seventies and again in the mid nineties. I'm back at shootings pistols and thinking about getting back into the compitive shooting.
  16. I just ordered a couple of these mags and wanted to ask about load length for these mags. Can I load any longer using these mags?
  17. I was wanting some sport pistol and have not seen it yet. I bought several pounds of prima v and it will be around the end of the year before I need some more powder, maybe sport pistol be easily gotten by then hopefully. Have been a big user of w-231 for the last twenty five years it's been in use so long that I figured they had to be something a little cleaner that could takes its place.
  18. I don't shoot the 45 much but I did try a few loads with the prima v . I loaded some 200 gr swc bayou bullets with 5.2 and 5.4 and both loads felt a little on the warm side and did not group real good. When I get back to fouling with it Im gonna try about 4.8grs and go from there. When I find something that I like ill drag out the chrono and see what they are doing.
  19. I shot a few groups yesterday with the same batch of prima v with 147 acme flat points out of a G-34. I shot these groups at fifteen yards with chrono at about eight feet. Cci-500. Win brass prima v. 3.2 grs 147 fp. 1.135 oal 899.6 fps. Es 14. sd 4 8 shots 1.6" group same except 3.4grs prima v 935 fps. Es 17. sd 5. 8 shots 1.74" group I loaded some more at 3.2 grs with 1.15 oal and some at 3.1 grs with a1.135 oal and 1.15 oal hopefully I'll get to try them out next week.
  20. I got some 147 gr bullets I want to try with some prima v ,I was gonna try 3.2 and 3.4 for starters at 1.135 oal for my g34. Just wondering after reading your post if you would mind sharing your load might help me narrow down my loading and range trips. Thanks in advance
  21. Just got some 122 and 147 gr bullets from acme today and loaded some of both. I didn't see any defects at all.
  22. Yeah I had two orders of the bayou 124's that were messed up and I got some bullets from acme coming to try them out. I hope the acme' are good to go and I used the 10% discount also,if I like them ill order a case or two to hold me thur the summer.
  23. Was wanting to try prima v with 200 gr swc bayou bullet haven't see any data of anyone using this combo. I found 4.8 to 5.8 was the load range from the manufacture. I'm wanting a load that's around 850 fps hopeful that's accurate. Been using 6 grs of w-231 which is on the stout side but very accurate. Was hoping somebody has tried it and give some insight /info on how it's worked for them thanks.
  24. Nu finish car wax a couple cap fulls is what I use works great.
  25. I've been using walnut/corn cob media for many years it pretty much cleans the outside and maybe a little on the inside and has been working great for me.
