  1. OP. I joined the “somewhat “ civilized world a while back an d went to a MK7 drive still on a 650. I had one on order but a friend was upgrading to an apex and made me a deal. I only shoot 12-15K rds a year so bulk output is not my primary concern. Consistently is. My machine will run at 1800 rds / hr. Wide open!! If u try loading open ammo on a 650 like this powder would fly like a yard sprinkler and more indexer ring plastic would fly out than loaded ammo. So I don’t do it. With top slowdown, top dwell and index dropped I run about 470 rds/ hr. Still with adding primers, brass, Bullets and powder 1K finished product is less than 3 hrs. Anything less than perfect adjustment wise on your press will be amplified when automated. If u want raw high output, simple fact is you will get what u pay for. Also the larger machines are much more forgiving due to automation. As far as the MK 7 on a 650 the only problem is the 650. I love mine but it has its limitations. As long as u stay within these limits it’s fantastic. When you exceed them it will let you know.
  2. Ok. Not trying to be rude here, trust me, if I was you would know it. First, I have not and am not going to waste time reading @ 40 pages & 1K post in a thread dedicated to why a certain type of firearm does not fit into a certain division. Not any division, just a certain division. However, some guys possess SAO guns with optics and I can see their frustration as they are not your typical Open division gun. Lumping the two together would put straight up Open guns at a distinct advantage. Point understood. So, if these guns ( 2011 SAO optic ) were rolled over in with the existing CO field, would this give the SAO heavier guns an advantage? Debatable. Personal opinion, no. Maybe perceived but not on the clock. Same guys who were winning before will still be winning. They will then just be able to brag about how they beat the 2011’s also. So, what to do. We could create a separate division. Call it race optics or whatever the new rules czars declare. Still minor but no comps. Other than that, Open division rules apply. But I forgot, we have way too many divisions now. Couple of downvotes? Alright, no problem. We go with the bare bones idea. Completely optic and mag based on divisions with 40 up Maj and rest minor. After all, there are only a couple of us who have had open guns made from the ground up purposely built to operate at Major PF using 9 / SC. We can always have new top ends built for all our guns ( chump change ) and a complete new outfit of mags is no more than 12-15 hundred. And these suckers who have been picking up SC brass, ha. That’s their own fault. We can always keep running 355 rounds at major but should we be allowed to??? Probably not as open guns are obviously ticking time bombs. FYI. Just got back from Nationals and didn’t see any open or limited gun go up in a spectacular mushroom cloud of fire. Only been doing this 7 years and I’ve never seen that from a Major PF gun. I have seen several minor guns pop and puke the mag out while smutting up shooters hands and face. Huh, maybe it’s not the PF? Might be something else. Off topic, Major has got to go. Another option. This is out there so bear with me. Play the game using the existing rules. Wild concept I know. And probably completely unacceptable to some. In conclusion. A few thoughts. 1- Try all you want. Any rules / division change is not going to change a thing. The same guys who beat you last week will beat you again next week. This is simply how it is. Maj/ minor. Heavy/ light. SA/DA. Moot point. Come to terms with it. 2- Guys love to discuss what all is wrong with the rules, especially in the divisions they don’t participate in. They really love the thought of changing those rules to benefit themselves. 3- How about the capitalistic approach? Hit em where it hurts, in their pocketbooks. If USPSA is so broken, just boycott every match. That’ll teach em. Best of luck in your endeavors guys. -PTR. Proud flip & catch advocate since 2015
  3. Just a quick question. What division do you primarily shoot? My spidey sense tells me it’s not Open.
  4. I got one last week and am having the same issue. Not a dealbreaker by any means but definitely a little annoying. On the plus side it’s a good reminder to add more brass. I will say the plate is much more efficient than the stock Dillon part. I have a 650 with a MK7. Feeding my rollsizer which has a max output of 5400 / hr it keeps up perfectly. With the stock plate I was limited to 50% output from the rollsizer. I’ll check the clutch today and see if it’s a bit to tight.
  5. 7K beats me. Just moved after wife and I split up. Found 2400 Federal SPP I had hidden from myself. P.S. Would have gladly made that same deal for 500 SPP!!!! Happy day.
  6. At 2:10 in the top video you can watch someone point a gun at their head. Big fun! Just a thought, but on your "channel" you might to review your gun handling. Some poor soul may view and think this is acceptable behavior. Please don't say it was unloaded. The unloaded ones really hurt, permanently.
  7. Like I said earlier, he's waiting until tomorrow to fire back with the April 1st gotcha!!!! I hope so at least. This reads like a bad dream.
  8. Wait......I'm confused. I thought under some of the new proposed rules we weren't allowed to like guys who shoot rifles? Just kidding. Took me a few but I get you now.
  9. Sounds great. Take a shooting sport & change the rules to have less importance on accuracy. Only one problem, doesn't change a thing. Under this system, all the guys who were top in the overall standings at your last match, regardless of division, will still be at the top and most likely have more separation from the lower placing shooters.
  10. Wow. I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out. This is all a set up for a fantastic April fool's gotcha!!!!! Very well played.
  11. No disrespect meant to anyone but I don't think trying to run hi-cap divisions like production is a good idea. Most people are very honest however some aren't. How are the round / mag limits enforced and what is the penalty? CO / Limited can go over 20 and PCC's can blow 30 out of the water. The bump to open doesn't work anymore. Are the RO's now going to be counting shots to 20 & 30 when their primary duty is safety? Penalties? One proc, one proc per shot fired after limit? How to verify? Review timer? Not going to help match efficiency at all. Magazine length limits based on division makes more sense to me, but it seems like that's where we are now. I'm also a big fan of simplicity but it seems when these discussions come up, the simple thing to do is leave what is working alone. Most hypothetical proposals for division changes / deletions generate a lot more problems for the masses than they solve for a select few. Also these "proposals" tend to attempt to resolve issues that in reality, don't actually exist, in my opinion. Trying to reinvent the wheel with a square brick when you have a perfectly good wheel seems like a loosing proposition.
  12. OP, Like mentioned above, DQ's do not have to be called immediately, but they should be called. Each club has it's own culture, or flavor if you will. Stages tend to show a similarity from match to match, things are done the same way and routines are developed. These can be good or bad. I am very fortunate to live in a location with seven clubs within a two hour drive from my home. Even better is the fact that each of these clubs prioritizes safety above all else. The rules, all of them are enforced strictly, but fairly among all competitors regardless if it's their first match or they're a seasoned GM. A match disqualification is a teachable moment. It is there to discipline an undesirable behavior. Without it the poor behavior will continue. When a DQ is not given or disregarded and the violator is allowed to continue, the culture of the match tends to tilt in that direction creating an unsafe condition for all involved. Even at a level I where someone may use the excuse " well, it's his first match ", this doesn't fly. It's simply reinforcing a bad behavior. If allowed to continue unchecked, it will only get worse. By not removing an offender from the match you are doing them a great disservice. If / when they go to their first level II with these habits and get a DQ that sticks, there will be no discussion or talking their way out of it, just a long ride home. This is probably the best case scenario. Worst case, well we won't go there. The safety rules are there to help avoid these situations. Non enforcement of these rules creates a very dangerous environment for all involved. It's as simple as that. Get with Troy, take the RO class, and put it to use. If you see something dangerous, you own it. Speak up. Be polite but speak up. Safety is everyone's responsibility.
  13. After the 3rd day of it being down I suspected they added a rimfire division to USPSA and everyone just gave up!
  14. Ran an AA for about 5 years. Overall pretty good. Switched to Everglades about 4 months ago and love it. Very smooth.
  15. Did they seat when you tested them before the match? Sorry, had to say that. With MBX with stock guts I've always had to leave them loaded max for a couple of days before they were good to go.
  16. I hope it's not a dangerous high capacity purse!!!
  17. I was trying to get in touch with them @ Aug/Sept and they didn't respond to my email. Contacted by phone and was on hold for a few minutes. Automated response to enter my number for callback. They then responded about 72 hours later. Best of luck.
  18. I don't think mine is working. I entered my ex-wife's name and so far still no luck. I guess it was worth a shot. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
  19. I have 2 RTS2 V4's on my oldest 2 open guns and always / still like them. No issues. My 2 newest open guns both have Romeo 3 Max's on them. Even while not the XL, the window is quite large while not being too much. They both function great and hold zero with no issues. The only problem I have had is on my primary gun. On the brightness increase / decrease buttons, the increase is fine but the decrease intensity button sometimes requires a bit of playing with to activate. Not a deal breaker for me. One day I might go to XL's on my main guns and move the Max's to the other two. Bottom line is I'm very happy with them.
  20. 2011's like ammo loaded long for feeding. COAL for my open guns is 1.175. With a platform like a Glock magazine or something similar, you simply can't load this long.
  21. Out back deep in the woods, pour it out around the still to keep the weeds down. I only clean brass once or twice a year so not too worried about it. I wonder if some guys dispose of dry tumbling media with the same hazardous precautions or simply throw it in the trash?
  22. As a dedicated match, sure. Trying to integrate into a traditional USPSA match, as we currently view it, is going to cause nothing but problems in my opinion. Already mentioned are the steel & activator issues. Timer sensitivity as well. These issues could be overcome, but would it affect the centerfire divisions? My fear is that stage design would suffer and become for lack of a better term, watered down. I don't have any specific issues in mind, just a suspicion. I do know that "one size fits all" solutions usually only succeed in pissing off everyone. Just my $0.02. That being said, if USPSA did introduce a rimfire division I would still attend matches and still primary open. I would try rimfire in a USPSA setting though just to play occasionally. So I guess the equipment race starts now. Anyone know where I can pick up something akin to moonclips for a derringer? Have a great day everyone. I'm off to pattern some ratshot loads.
  23. Sounds like a very poorly disguised spy trying to infiltrate the ranks! This is is one of those things that will work itself out very shortly. Either this was a one time stunt so he could showcase his superior intellect and you'll never see him again, or less likely, he is actually serious about practical shooting. If the latter, he will forever be known as " that guy with that shirt " and probably find matches to be a cold and lonely place. Then, you'll never see him again. At at the end of the day just an idiot with no respect who deserves only to be ignored. - I am an anthem loving redneck & I approve this message.
  24. It's just a yearly in house cert. Watch a 15 minute video is all.
  25. If it's a quickie belt stays on. If I'm tired and need to sit down, bag it and then take care of business. If someone ditched belt and all in safe area, in our terminology perhaps he "knew the timer was running and was worried about an accidental discharge".
