  1. Same as Sarge...mine was on a .40
  2. Yes. I use Xtreme 200 gr. plated
  3. Here's how my LnL is set up for .40 1. Size and decap 2. Prime and Powder with PTX 3. Blank (can use a powder cop here) 4. Bullet seat 5. Crimp No pics available right now...
  4. +1 more for using the FCD as a push-thru resizer for .40.
  5. I've thought about attending Ben's fundamentals class, but feel as though I need to improve significantly in order to attend his class. I don't need to pay someone to tell me I'm fat, slow, and watching my shooting is like watching a shitshow!!!

  7. I had issues running .401 moly coated in my blaster (XDM 5.25). Thought it was related to OAL but turns out the extra .001 was causing issues. Switched to .400 plated and I'm able to load to whatever OAL I want that'll still run in the gun and mags.

  9. I'm confused. You run just the empty brass through the hundo first, and everything passes? Then, you load the brass with primer, powder, and bullet, repeat the hundo process, and some fail? Is this correct? If true, then I would agree that something's amiss with your dies or press. If not, and the failure to feed is with the gun, then I would look at diameter of the bullets themselves. Since you don't have issues with Xtremes (plated bullet) but have issues with coated bullets, maybe the coating on the bullet is slightly thicker on some, causing problems when they contact the throat/rifling?
  10. My worst procedural stage was 11. Started in front of the shooting area with heels touching fault line. Upon start, shooter had to step back into the shooting area before engaging targets. I forgot the "step back" part. BEEP -- pew pew pew pew...... then move/reload/engage more targets. Yep - 11 procedurals. Sigh....
  11. My stage plans tend to fall towards the "less risky" side of things. Like if a target can be shot from 2 different positions (long shot with a hard lean vs. a close shot in the open), I'll probably take the close shot even though it may mean a few extra seconds. BUT...as I get more experience/confidence/comfortable, I'm starting to take those "more risky" shots. I also try and plan my reloads so that I'm reloading at a point where I'm not running the gun dry. For example, if the stage can be shot with 1 reload "perfectly" or 2 reloads "conservatively", I tend towards the 2 reload plan, especially if there's steel involved.
  12. I reeeaaallllyyyy like the drop-in trigger kit from Powder River Precision that I put in my XDM 5.25
  13. Whatever you do, don't place your weak hand on your strong arm shoulder/upper bicep. Especially in a match, unless you want a lot of procedurals...
  14. on average, 1 per month during the spring/summer months.
  15. +1 on this. I tried a 14# spring, and even with a lighter striker spring, was running into slide/out of battery issues. Put the factory spring back in (18#) and everything is good.
  16. Not shooting BBI, but using 4.3 gr WST behind Xtreme RNFP 200 gr @ 1.135" OAL.
  17. Used Magtech primarily (bought in bulk) when I first started out. Saved all the brass that I could so I could reload my own. Also used a little WWB.
  18. If you haven't done so already, check out 76Highboy's youtube channel. He has several videos on there related to the LNL press...they helped me to get mine dialed in.
  19. Another thing I have found when reloading is, with my new blaster, .401 bullets would randomly fail the plunk test (regardless of OAL) whereas .400 bullets would work flawlessly.
  20. I load to 1.135". My max OAL that'll run in my mags is 1.145". However if during my random QA check I find a 1.140", I'll run it through seat and crimp again to get it to 1.135". So I guess my tolerance is +0.005"
  21. FWIW the solid guide rod from PRP weighs in at 1.9 oz
  22. Doubt it's the gun/sights with this particular instance. He said his buddy shot good groups with it...so that means it's likely technique/operator error. I've found that I used to shoot low/left with compact pistols (i.e. EDC types) but with full-frame guns, I shoot straight and true. So it may be part mental block/part physical training. After much practice/dry fire/live fire, my compact pistol shooting has become better. I would try dry fire. Balance an empty piece of brass on the slide while pulling the trigger. Get to the point where you're able to keep the brass on the slide each and every time. Then move to the ball/dummy drill mentioned above.
  23. Thanks! I'll have to check the weight of my PRP solid rod when I get home.
  24. Aftermarket from PRP. For those that filled their hollow guide rod with lead, any idea what the weight of the filled guide rod is? I'd like to compare it to the solid one I have from PRP and wonder if the filled rod weighs more...
