  1. I met Bill 20 years ago when we both took a Mike Plaxco training course at PASA.(Ray Hirst was also in the group) We all had a great time together those 2 days. Bill was a great ambassador of our sport and a true gentlemen. The times I saw Bill after that I was always greeted with a warm smile and firm handshake. I'll miss you Bill! My condolences to Bill's family and friends. Marty Geringer A-7424
  2. My Caspian Hi-Cap built in 1993 has a Huening .38 super bull barrel that was comped and turned down in a taper and fluted by my gunsmith. Over 50k rounds and this gun is still a tack driver. Come on back George! Marty A-7424
  3. Marty, the folks at MG told me the 130 .356 bullet would be back on line in about 6 months...Regards, Kirby Thanks Kirby! Marty
  4. I shoot the A open class and my gun was built in 1993. For years I shot 160 grain lead bullets out of this gun when the power factor was 175. In around 2001 my bullet source retired and I started to shoot 150 then 135 zero jacketed bullets. My problem now is I really like the 135 grain .38 super bullets but since its not a popular bullet Zero has no idea if or when they will make them again. I thought I would try Montana Gold 130 grain bullets but it looks like they aren't offering them anymore. I have about 4500 147grain lead bullets that were given to me about 10 years ago.... so it looks like I'm going back to lead. This is not a rant about Zero or Montana Gold. I just don't want to shoot the 115-125 grain bullets out of this old gun. Marty A-7424
  5. Caspian Hi-Cap built in 1993 for me by Otto Matyska (Ottocomp) Marty A-7424
  6. Shot my first match in November 1987 at age 30. Marty A-7424
  7. +1! Don't mess with children or old folks. Prayers sent to family. Marty A-7424
  8. Ottocomp (Otto Matyska) St. Louis, MO Marty A-7424
  9. Kevin, Central Ozarks Practical Shooters, (COPS), also shoot on the first Sunday of the month. The range is about 10 miles west of Rolla, Missouri. They also cancelled this weekend but a great group of guys to shoot with. Marty A-7424

+1 10min Aimpoint for me for all the same reasons. Marty A-7424
  11. Hey, I also resemble that remark!! Welcome back. Marty A-7424 Have never shot anything but open since 1987
  12. Is that guy still building guns? Wow. Crazy metalworking genius! Yup, He's still at it and as busy as ever! My friend Otto IS a crazy metalworking genius. Marty
  13. Redwoods, The guy I would talk to about this is my Gunsmith, Otto Matyska (Ottocomp), here in St. Louis. The guy can build anything, but in your case, the most important thing is he's left-handed. I'm sure he will have some ideas. 314-638-3327 Marty A-7424
  14. That's one of the reasons I use a 10 MOA Aimpoint..... Super bright dot! Marty A-7424
  15. I'll be there, shooting the old Ottocomp in open. Marty A-7424
  16. Eagle in 1973 Troop 644 St. Louis, MO
  17. I shot Winchester (mostly) and Remington .38 super +p brass for over 15 years. Switched to Starline brass a year or 2 ago for the exact reason you mentioned. Have had no issues with Starline brass and see no reason to switch back. Good stuff. Marty A-7424
  18. +1 Bill! Marty G. Joined 10/22/1987 A-7424 Its funny, whenever I shoot at one of the local clubs, when they ask me what my number is at sign up, I say A-7424 then they wait for the next digit... Like it should be 5 digits long. An old fart shooting open, and having lots of fun. Marty
  19. No experience with BSA or Barska. I like the tube dots and my first choice would be an Aimpoint, as thats what is on my open gun. But in your case I think I would bite the bullet and get the C-more. Should last forever. Marty A-7424
  20. I have a Ruger Mark II pistol with a Tasco PDP 3, 10 moa dot. Should be able to find these on e-bay of 100.00 or less?? Should be plenty robust for your .22. Marty A-7424
  21. I use a Fred Craig welded big stick in my Caspian. It holds 25 rounds of .38 super. The magazine was built in 1993. I think the go to guy for these welded big sticks now is Jim Anglin. It might not be cheap but there is a lot of work involved and I'm sure you would save yourself a headache. Enjoy Marty A-7424
  22. That AET barrel doesn't like plated bullets. Normal Schuemann barrels usually shoot them just fine. All the caspian hi cap frames come with the squared triggerguard. Mine is a first generation frame with a round trigger guard, circa 1993 Marty
