  1. My experience is in about 2 weeks you will get an e-mail saying the order is shipping.
  2. You can get the correct magazine pouches from Holsters.com and/or order directly with your 50% number through the website. I have been using the ELS rig in open since May and have no trouble getting the belt tightened up. I have also found that the wider ELS belt is more confortable to wear for me then my CR speed belt. My recomendation: 014 holster, 3 771 mag pouches with the ELS forks already installed and and ELS outer and inner belt. For right at $200.00 with the discount you are set. Marty A-7424
  3. I am going to also vote open division. Easier to see the dot with 50 year old eyes and not as many reloads to worry about. Ejnoy yourself. Marty A-7424 open since 1987. 55 year old eyes
  4. I think its a whole lot of BS. She outshot everyone in her category. After she shot all the stages she gets bumped? From the pictures of the other female competitors i have seen she was not alone with odd belt placement. You're are incorrect on you assumption that she went through the whole match in Production. The Arb was filed at about 1:35 on the second day of the match and decided that afternoon. I think (not 100% positive which schedule she was on but I believe AM/PM/AM) she only shot about a third of the match before being bumped. Steel1212, read the thread. The rule that allows female competitors to wear the belt below the waist does not apply in Production per Appendix D. It's been mentioned a couple times before. To the couple of guys who keeps quoting the last half of 5.3.2 as reason why the belt can be anywhere. You need to read the whole rule, not just the sentence you think supports your position. 5.3.2 starts off by saying the belt must be worn at the waist ... Period. It then describes how the belt must be worn, either securely fixed or with three belt loops. Good to know. NOW...we know the facts. Thanks again for clarification. I still think that is sucky. She shot extremely well. Agreed, I'ts sad that someone didn't catch this before she started the match and suggest she quickly run to a Wal-Mart and pick up a pair of shorts. Long way from home and a lot of $ spent to be bumped. Marty A-7424
  5. Which holster and which mag pouches? Marty A-7424
  6. Is the head of the Marketing Department John Enloe? I have already paid once to send the XD back to them and they sent it back in 2 weeks unrepairable. I'm not ranting on Aimpoint but IMO they are too busy with their Military comittments to worry about anything else. I think that is kind of sad since I have used an Aimpoint since the early 1990's on my open guns and have NEVER used another scope in competition. 3 5000's a Comp an XD and a SC 7. I'm the only one locally that shoots an Aimpoint and it has been kind of my trademark. I explained all this to a Marketing Rep at the NRA show here in St. Louis this spring. He had no interest in helping other than to try to sell me the latest and greatest with only a 4moa dot. No thanks! It kills me to say this as I wear an Aimpoint patch on my shooting jersey that if/when the SC blows I am going to switch brands. Marty A-7424
  7. IMO this is the best advise of the thread. Marty A-7424
  8. I actually sent the Aimpoint Comp and XD back to be repaired and both were returned unrepairable. I spoke to a Rep from Aimpoint about this at the NRA show and he said the discontinued scopes are supported for 10 years after the scopes were discontinued iirc. Both the Comp and the XD were over that. I would have been happy to pay the $100.00 to get either one fixed, especially the XD. Marty A-7424
  9. Stay out of the tittie bars next week

  10. You will remember to turn it off when you put 4 of those little batteries in it at about 3.00 per battery. If it is still not bright enough the dark filter that should have been in the box works well also. If you didn't get one PM me! Marty A-7424
  11. Neomet, When you hotrod the aimpoint with the battery cap be sure to turn it off as soon as you are done. It will help save the diode.
  12. The Aimpoint Comp was the built to replace the 5000. It is a mid 1990's scope and I actually had one on my caspian hi cap until 2010 when it finally went out. The one I had was blue and a 10moa dot. I also used a rescomp battery cap to increase the brightness of the dot. The cap allowed you to add another battery. The next generation was the XD model that really was a big improvement in dot brightness and battery life.I used one of them from 2010 to late 2011 when it went out. I now use a comp sc in 7moa dot but if I could find another pretty blue XD in 10moa I would go back in a heartbeat. Enjoy Marty A-7424
  13. Paul, Thanks for you hard work and dedication on this. It really fills the void for some of us that can't be there this year. Marty A-7424
  14. Mentioning price. Consider that you will outspend the cost of a belt in ammo alone in under 2 weeks max if you are practicing on a consistent basis. Everytime I catch myself thinking of pinching pennies for support equipment I use the ammo thought process. I have no issue throwing a couple hundred bucks of ammo a month. Why shy from spending good money on a good product and only have to do it once. What a great point! When I switched this year to the ELS Belt and 014 holster I retrofitted my Safariland mag pouches that I purchased for my open gun in 1993. Buy the good stuff and then you only cry once! This stuff never really wears out. Prior to that I used an Ernie Hill Jet Holster from 1993-2009. Switched to a Safariland 013 in 2010 and the 014 this year. The Jet and the 013 still work fine. Marty A-7424
  15. As already stated the Safariland ELS belt is 1.75 inches and is velcro backed just like a CR Speed. Order the Safariland inner belt and you are good to go. If you have a CR Speed inner belt it will work fine. I have both a CR Speed belt and a ELS and will probably sell the CR Speed belt. The ELS belt is really nice. Marty A-7424
  16. The new ELS Safariland belt is now the same as the DAA/CR Speed belts. Might check with Safariland directly for the old style belts. Marty A-7424
  17. I think Caspian at one time had left handed kits for sale. The guy you might want to talk to about a left handed build would be Otto Matyska,(Ottocomp) here in St. Louis, 314-638-3327. He is a world class gunsmith and also happens to be left handed. Marty A-7424
  18. Darren is a friend of mine and he is quite prowd of this build and rightfully so. I have not shot this pistol but I am sure I will in the near future. I think the weight will also help with his elbow issues. I call Darren a "hobbyst" gun builder but I have seen and handled this gun and ANYBODY would be prowd to own it. Good job my friend! Marty A-7424
  19. I'm looking at my 014 now and it doesn't look difficult to take apart. Looks like the inside would come out as one unit. I did not receive any disassembly instructions with my holster. Good luck with the painting and post a pic when completed. I just got mine 2 weeks ago and think Safariland hit a home run with this holster. Good luck! Marty A-7424
  20. I got mine 2 weeks ago from holsters.com and also have an 013. The control lock is indeed the same size as on the 013. This new holster is in a word, awsome! Much easier to adjust than the 013 and with the new ball design I can't think of any way you couldn't adjust this thing. IMO Safariland hit a home run with this holster folks! Marty A-7424
  21. Had the same issue in 2010. My old Blue Comp shot craps after about 15 years. Was fortunate to find a blue XD used and it started to have an intermitent dot issue early this year as Brit USA described. Was in a hurry and got lucky and found a used Silver Comp SC with a 7moa dot. The blue ones were 10 MOA. Sent the XD to John Enloe a couple months ago and got it back in 2 weeks with a note unrepairable. I really miss shooting with the 10moa blue xd. Marty A-7424
