  1. For absolute reliability, leave it how you have it. My carry gun(s) is/are all stock, have not had a malf that wasn't ammo related. In my Gen 4 G35 the heavier trigger spring causes issues with fully resetting the trigger, it works but does not always let the trigger all the way out. The gun has a full zev spring kit with lightened striker. If I start running the G35 again, the stock trigger spring will go back in.
  2. Great video! I'll have to find one of these for my next USPSA 2011!
  3. Huh. Well glad nothing went wrong and that you've got a good powder! I like WSF in 40 as well.
  4. I'd be interested in uspsa metrics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Wow, what was your oal? I just finished loading similar and higher weights of wst with a 180 @ 1.185. No signs of pressure that I could tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Usmc - how much had you shot it prior to the match? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Love them in my wheel guns! Don't have a 45 yet, but those sure are pretty!
  8. Have you changed anything in the slide or trigger group? The striker should catch on the sear when the slide is racked / cocked position and the FPB should not let it forward. Sorry I can't be of more help, but off topic - does this mean we will see carry optics at 59?
  9. Sounds like a great weekend! Congratulations on the finish and well run event! I especially appreciate the video. Coming from someone in your classification, it is nice to see a) how you engage the targets and the speed at which you do. As a new guy, I seem to think of M & GM guys as "super duper" fast and push myself too hard on speed in sake of accuracy. It is a great benefit to see the real deals in action.
  10. Good gravy MG! That's a lot of loaders! And I'd love to know where you the heck you find the used, cheap Dillons! They sure aren't around my part of the world!
  11. Cut the follower first, that is the cheap part of the system. If that doesn't do it, then you'll need to fiddle with the slide stop. Follow this link to Brazos' tutorial on the subject: http://www.brazoscustom.com/magart/0505.htm
  12. Dawson is the place to go! You shouldn't see to much difference in POI due to major/minor with the closer ranges for USPSA.
  13. 4 year necro post, nice! [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Tom - 51782. It is the older model, it does not show up on Armscor's website anymore. It is very similar to the current 51738 except for the rail, checkered front strap, and the rear site is a little different. 15. I've heard that 14 is a starting weight with major, 12 is the bottom end. I've got a 13 and 12 to test. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Welcome! What parts of Texas? I'm down Houston way. Reloading yet?
  17. JR that's equal cost to a box of 1k primers Haha I'll deal with it, just like my Glock mags, a few load & empty cycles settles the springs.
  18. Agreed with the 13lb recoil and striker spring. My G34 & 35 would not go into battery with a 13lb recoil spring. They hang about 1/8-1/4 out of battery, once swapping to a ZEV lightened spring it went in just fine. Please realize that if you run a lightened striker spring you should really run a lightened striker too. It is just extra insurance against light primer strikes.
  19. Good deal! Last night I got 20 in 2 mags but one was a bear, only taking 18. I'll let them sit for a few days before checking again.
  20. Welcome from humid Houston!
  21. What I've been using for nearly 4 years now https://www.shotgunsportsmagazine.com/downloads/bench_plans.pdf No need for a strong mount, I stand to reload. Tried sitting down when I used an old kitchen table, found I was not as efficient or comfortable working the handle. For reference I'm 5'10" and the Dillon 550 mounted directly to the bench noted above seems perfect.
  22. Well it happened, competition shooting has truly entered my blood. I've been shooting for about 5 years now, started with self defense classes, pistols, and accessories. For some reason early this year 3 Gun caught my attention then just as fast as it became it went in favor of USPSA. Being the fact of 3 gun seems 5 times more expensive and time consuming than a pistol only sport not to mention I now have a three month old son, I had to choose wisely. I'm very lucky in the fact my wife is a true inspiration and support of my varied hobbies. We've been married two years and let me tell you I married way over my head, she is smarter, better looking, and damn successful at everything she does. God is smiling on me! So on to the topic at hand. My first USPSA was in May, did pretty well I think for the first time out, 16 of 24 in limited and 52 of 75 overall. Several stages I blew by giving up accuracy for speed, one stage in particular I had 4 mikes and 1 ns. Not to mention going at it Limited Minor. Lesson learned! I've stepped up to major now to at least. Since the match, I've been dry firing about 5 days a week for 30 minutes at a clip, just picked up Stoeger's Dry Fire book as well. Next weekend, 6/25-26 I'm competing in the Texas State Open and I'm damn excited! Here are a few stages from that match, any words of advice?
