  1. I built mine for about $800 but it was for HD type use initially. If I went with a different hand guard and upgraded the trigger I'd still be right at $900. Although that does not include an Optic. Besides if you build it, you'll know how and have the tools to change parts later on. I guarantee within a few months you'll want to change a comp, barrel, hand guard, etc. etc.
  2. Debob - Have you loaded the mags and let them sit for a few days? I loaded mine up yesterday morning, then they sat in the range bag all day. It seemed to help a little. Which reminds me, I need to load them up again tonight.
  3. Ran pretty damn good, put 102 rounds thru them last night. The mags hold 19 now but should relax the springs to fit 20, as is they are 19 reloadable. I did not "tune" the mags at all, they fed just fine but had a few random slide lock with rounds in the mag. I'll wind up following Brazos' tutorial to modify the slide stop. 1.185" with a 180gr Xtreme Plated and 5.0gr of WST is really good but 4.8 is SWEET. Unfortunately did not get to run the chrono but based on my research 5.0 is a major PF load. Edit to add - Get the Arredondo or similar followers. The stockers are junk, hard to load and really jack with the pre-mature slide locking.
  4. WaJim from what I've picked up here if you don't agree with the ruling or espoused possibilities, the best response is "show me in the rule book". I'm a new guy so I'm still learning too.
  5. Just picked up a set of CR Speed Versa's. So far I really like them for dry firing, haven't run a match yet with them. I will say that my original setup with a Comp-Tac dual up mag pouch didn't seem to hinder my time.
  6. Welcome! Could you send some poutine down to Houston? I'm a fiend for that stuff!
  7. Trent did you even read what Pinto said? I have it on good authority he knows what is going on, even being an Okie he is the Area 4 director. HQ is working on this.
  8. Y'all can't tell me this isn't damn sexy! Factory ACT mags from Greg Cote, Dawson Extensions with Arredondo Springs & Inserts followers from Shooters Connection. Just put them together this morning, going to test the mags this afternoon along with some load development.
  9. That's not even close to being correct, i know Matt Mclearn, Glenn Rasch, Matt Cheely, Matt Burkett and others build parts they use. I said it before Brandon makes some awesome guns but lots of gunsmith/machinist do also. I'm also not saying anything bad about SV's. Im saying others are also Gunsmith/Machinest/Artist as well. Apologies to all then. From what I understood SVI was the only one to build ALL of their own parts to build a gun.
  10. Well there are other builders than SVI and Limcat As someone mentioned earlier that SVI is one of the only custom builders out there who makes all of their own products in house. Otherwise the "other" guys are craftsman and artists, no so much machinists.
  11. It just makes life easier, no hassle on the system having issues / wait time or the "pending" flag.
  12. No sir. I'm in the load 'em, bag 'em, and tag 'em camp. Seems like just another step that I don't need to take. I don't lube them prior to loading either; they are normally pretty slick coming out of the walnut media tumbler.
  13. Rick what squad are you? I'm in 9 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Official notice says 252 rounds. Stages are post on FB, I'm not a FB person really so here they are for all the world to see!
  15. Jack is right! But check out the differences in culture depending on where you live there. West coast is more central states kinda folk. East coast is more north easterns, different culture if you're not used to that. I like the south Tampa / Bradenton area the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Not sure if they will post or not, my first time shooting there as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. As a new guy; if I paid so much attention to trigger control as to never let them wiggle then I'd still be slower than old people.... It's a mix, I want to see my sights with each pull stay damn steady but I've gotta push myself on a bill drill to get faster while maintaining acceptable sight stability.
  18. Bronco - check out their section under "Vendor Tent". Another member just had two guns built by Atlas.
  19. Welcome! You can build one from Lone Wolf absolutely! It'll be pretty expensive but search the web, I recall an article where a guy detailed his G34-ish build.
  20. Yup, it was actually plesant yesterday. Hell of a system rolled over us, good for the garden & bermuda seed!
  21. Take a look at Metro Arms & Rock Island. They both make budget 2011's. I just picked up an RIA, so far very impressed.
