  1. Ugh, I didn't like my performance and placement! It was a great tournament, my first Level II and second USPSA match. Big thanks to the guys on Squad 9 for the experience and education! One big takeaway.... CHRONO YOUR AMMO. Dropped 40 points going minor!
  2. Ah okay. I thought you meant problems with the brass itself. Once you get the chrono data you'll find what loads make power factor, feel the best and meet your accuracy requirements. And what you got from Dillon is likely a case gauge. Have you done the "plunk test"? That will tell you the longest OAL with that particular bullet, you can run in the chamber. Glock 9mm mags limit OAL to about 1.14 for me.
  3. Welcome Joe! I started in 3 gun but migrated to USPSA. Sure glad I did, USPSA is a lot more fun for me and easier on the credit card!
  4. Yup Gen 4 9mm is 17lb. Polymer - I ran 147gr Bayous @ 130pf with a 13lb spring, dropped empties about 2 feet away. I tried an 11lb spring but wasn't crazy about the feel, stuck with the 13lb and no issues.
  5. Senior Ribs is right. Get 3 springs, 9lb, 11lb, and 13lb, run them and see how they feel. During load work-up with another polymer based gun, the stock spring gave terrible anemic ejection, popped in a 13lb spring and the gun came to life. I did test an 11lb but it did not feel as good, didn't go any heavier.
  6. I wear a visor at matches and a straw hat around the house when practicing or working outdoors. A visor lets the heat escape the top of your noggin & is secure, straw hat is a little hotter and blows off kinda easily but keeps the sun off my neck & face more. I spent too much time in Florida seeing folks of all ages with skin caner, I'll look like a doofus to beat melanoma!
  7. Running this at about 8.65 average, came down from the 10's over the last several weeks. PM Sent for Part 2
  8. Shmella I should clarify that that is for 40, not 9mm. Sorry for the confusion!
  9. Anyone know what the 8k "bulk" discount is from PD? I'd like to run their stuff but plated/coated is still cheaper! I used several thousand of their 124 JHP in 9mm before and they is good stuff!
  10. HB - It won't. Problem with the light recoil and strong striker is they work against each other; ie recoil won't overcome striker spring causing the gun to be out of battery.
  11. Glocked go to wally world and spend $12 on a bathroom scale. Just for reference a 5 gallon bucket, 60% full weighs 40lbs with 9mm brass
  12. The smaller grip of the Gen 4 & larger button did it for me. When I was moving from 9 to 40 in limited, I went with a Gen 4 G35, MUCH easier to hit the mag release without completely breaking grip. If I was not buying a new gun, I would have just gone with the extended release.
  13. It's pretty easy to fit a safety yourself, and I think that is going to be the best option for you. I like this video: Is this the same guy who did your trigger job? If so, it sure sounds like he is learning on the fly, not something I'd be cool with.
  14. Call them. They have been great on warranty, just see what they have done for guys in this thread. That's a manf. defect, no way around it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Oh boy, call them now! If they don't have that frame anymore, since it's the light rail, you might just get the new frame. Sorry bud! Glad I didn't get that one form Elk's
  16. Which holster Jack? I'll tell up front that appendix holsters are simply the easiest way to conceal in flip flop weather. I have carried in the hot & humid south for 6 years now, my normal out on the town dress is cargo shorts & a columbia shirt. Nothing beats the button up fishing shirts for concealment! With that said I have been using the Dale Fricke Archangel with pull-the-dot loops. I much prefer the loops to the kydex flap or clips. Any make of appendix is pretty solid nowadays.
  17. Welcome! Join in the conversations, ask questions or given info as you want. Lots and lots to be learned here!
  18. Welcome Mike! I used to live down in Apollo Beach, sure miss it there from time to time.
  19. Cool! I look forward to see how it holds up! Would be nice to save a little coin vs. using stainless steel.
