  1. Not just mistakes but pulling bullets to check crimp! Working with plated or coated, I want to know if the crimp is correct.
  2. Got in touch with Glenn @ Lone Star Innovations. Met him up at his shop this morning, 10 minutes later I can chamber 1.145! Load development here we come!
  3. Stock was in when I sold the shotgun - only shooting USPSA now - however, it would catch on occasion. A quick rap with the support hand unstuck the follower. MOA precision makes a nice aluminum unit for $15. I'd suggest cutting the spring some more and getting the new follower, it can't hurt. Spring & Follower from MOA is only $23, cheapest thing you'll ever do to a gun. I have no affiliation with MOA just hear good stuff about them.
  4. Cut the spring if you have to, new ones are about $10 bucks. I wound up rounding & polishing the shell catch on my M3K; never had an issue with feeding. Are you sure there is no binding or catching on the tube intersection? The stock follower was a PITA at times catching on the junction. Have you put graphite / dry lube into the tube?
  5. I like it! For $300 it would have come home with me too! Those parts could be Titanium Nitride coated.
  6. Best bet is to talk to a local attorney who has experience with ccw cases and put them on retainer. Cheap legal representation, you just get what you paid for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Welcome Tom! Plenty of places to go shoot out your way. My favorite is American Shooting Centers at HWY 6 and Westheimer You shooting any IDPA or USPSA?
  8. Honkey - Where did you get the reamer? I've only seen them $70 plus.
  9. So I've jumped into the CZ pool, okay I'm tip toeing trying not to get both feet wet just yet. The 75B came from a trade, from the 2nd owner so the history is unknown. I can tell the contact points have been polished but no idea if the springs were changed, firing pin is different etc. I know the hammer, disco, and sear are original though. My question is, can I just change the Disco to a CGW Type 3 without making any other changes? From what I understand the answer is yes. The reset in single action longer than I care for and would like to shorten it up. The budget has gotten a bit tight and can't swing the Atlas or CGW Pro Package at the moment. If I have to get the Production Hammer & Sear kit, that's okay too; just trying to my save pennies.
  10. Carry Optics: 21.4 Grips Replacement grip panels are allowed provided they do not extend below the butt of the gun to form a make-shift magwell. Grip modifications such as, but not limited to, undercutting/smoothing the trigger guard, adding or removing finger grooves, or adding stippling, grip tape, or checkering are specifically allowed, without reference to Appendix E4. Grip tape or grip sleeves cannot disengage a grip safety. The rule book is your friend!

  12. Yeesh, when I actually stop and think about things, life is easier. I've got a world class 2011 builder in my area and Briley's is down the road. I emailed Glenn at LSI who is going to set me up. Gotta find a reason to ditch work and get up there!
  13. Welcome Low! I'm over in Spring Branch, where are you shooting? Check YouTube for videos, you'll fill up about 3 months worth of time watching them. It's all pretty easy, just gotta follow the best practices of safety. I'd be willing to show you the ropes of loading if you're near by.
  14. I know I can send it off but, does anyone know of a gunsmith in Houston that can ream my CZ75 barrel? Running 125 grain bullets I have to seat way deep, OAL of 1.080 to keep from hitting the rifling. I'd like to seat these bullets out to 1.135. Basically I need the leade / throat opened up on a 9mm barrel. Who is in town that can turn it around while I'm there or within a day or two? If not, what is the typical turn around to sending off? I need to keep working on dryfire and don't want to be without my gun for long.
  15. Missed a few days of dry fire last week cause I f'n over slept, making up for it this week... Got a chance to revisit my Monday drills and pretty damn surprised at the progress made already. Got a real timer too, much better than the iPhone. First drill - Bill Drill - 2.5 2.25 seconds. Was able to speed up the draw & sight alignment on the first shot. Grip the crap out of the gun and run the trigger was the mode of the day. Worked speed mode for most of the drill with the last 5 back to "match" mode. Still was able to hit 2.25, very happy. Second drill - Reloads - Draw, Fire 6, Reload, Fire 6, Reload, Fire 6 - Finishing in 9.5 8 seconds. Worked on, and only on, reloads for a few days last week, finding the best position for the mag well to accept the incoming magazine. It's a bit awkward feeling, the gun is titled out & to the right a bit more than I'd expect, but it's like hitting the sweet spot; slides right in. Focused on aligning the gun, slapping down to the fresh mag as the old one is moving out and watching the new mag insert sped everything up. Found out that slapping the mag in & rotating the support hand up at the same time allowed the grip rebuilding to happen faster too. It's amazing what you learn by doing and not just screwing off on the internet or sleeping.

  17. No issues with my former RIA 40 with Xtremes. I'd guess something in the loading process as well. I think my crimp was .420, it just left an indention in the coating.

  19. Welcome! Where are you shooting? I've been going to Area 59.
