  1. A lot of factors contribute to recoil....powder load, grip, stance, type of barrel etc....but i do not think cutting coils in a recoil spring is one of them.
  2. I can easily think of is the waiting period. I will let others share their invaluable wisdom on this
  3. Looks like the link is no longer there....can't open the URL
  4. Yep its St. Marks powder. I cannot find any load data across the net. Maybe someone from here can give inputs. Thanks.
  5. Do you have any major load data using SMP with 180gr heads? Searching the net but couldn't find any. I'm using STI Edge with stock barrel. Thanks in advance.
  6. "When I drop the hammer on a 1911 with a plastic grip, it has a weird vibration to it. With the metal grips, it feels like a "real" gun to me." ^This
  7. Try different spring loads (12.5, 13, 14) that matches your loads, your gun consistently reliable and yourself shooting comfortably.
  8. I assumed it is a .40. I'm using 14lbs recoil spring and a 17lbs main spring (major PF in IPSC). Alternately, I also use DPM recoil system and I use smallest ring and #3 spring combo.
  9. I do run 14lbs and 17lbs MS on my Edge major PF load in IPSC standard div. I've tried 12.5lbs but I prefer 14 over 12.
  10. Freedom Gunworks build all of their handguns on CK Arms Frames. yep i know this. just out of curiosity that i asked because on the original pistol it was all CK.
  11. I've noticed that its an FGW slide and not a CK. Have you requested for it? No extra cost I presumed.
  12. I agree. Medium curved (SV)=long curved (STI)
  13. Getting school allowances from my parents.....elementary decade for me...
  14. I just browsed their website. I think they are still active.
  15. Im using 180gr teflon coated, 4.8N320, 1.185OAL. PF ave @ 171-173
  16. +1 on SVI trigger. You dont have to buy the whole trigger system just in case you want to change the length if you are using SVI. You just have to buy the length that suits you. Plus it looks cool!
  17. Every after 10 matches for me...
  18. In my pistol, it will catch the half cock notch but if you pull the trigger koenig hammer will fall.
  19. I'm noticing the ghost on the slide of where it used to say Edge. How did you accomplish those panel cuts without the bottoms breaking out from where the original cocking serrations were??? I'm thinking about making similar panel cuts on an edge but I ran into the same problem..... Metal build up on the affected serrations. Those exposed serrations are still the original cuts.
  20. +1 on EGW sear and disconnector and Koenig hammer. Been using 2+ years now and very consistent. Average of 1.5lbs trigger pull since day 1.
  21. Glad to hear that. A good news indeed I'm sure it will turn out great.
  22. As long as it has great accuracy I'm good. I sent the builder an email with a video link and see what he advises..... I also talked to a limcat owner and he said it's pretty normal for them but they are very accurate and great guns. I think I will go ahead and give it a test run tomorrow and see how it does. Can't hurt anything, right! Give us an update on what the builder advise on...
