  1. Don't care for Fedex Ground either...
  2. After six years shooting, I finally wised up and got a press. Put together a bench for said press this weekend.
  3. Magazines springs are one possibility, yet all my mags have new CZ springs/followers or Grams kits installed less than 1000 rounds ago. Happened with both sets of mag guts...though more often with the CZ followers.
  4. I've had a similar FTF with factory ball (180gr cone-ish profile). It may be the slide stop...I've filed one down to test (sometime later this month)...
  5. My SP-01 is a decocker model...I changed the mainspring to one of the lighter ones Angus sells at CZ Custom and have been very pleased with that one change to the action. Add competition sights and thin aluminum grips and it's very comfortable to shoot. The trigger on my gun is not as "fine" as some custom CZ trigger jobs, yet it far better than a plastic gun trigger. On the vast majority of shots on most courses of fire, I have not noted any perceptible difference between my decocker and the safety model with a custom trigger job I borrowed and shot for a few months prior to buying my own SP-01. On those long, tight shots where the shooter needs to concentrate on the finer trigger manipulations (and off the clock group shooting) I can notice a difference. Nonetheless, the difference is nothing that familiarization and practice cannot ameliorate.
  6. SWHC wrote down a huge loss on the T/C purchase last quarter, that made those numbers suffer. Sigma inventories still stink to high heaven. They cannot deliver enough J frames or medium/large steel frame revolvers. IF they delivery good quantities of the MP15/22 in this quarter they will may break this recent record.
  7. I'm just curious exactly how the situation would arise where one would shoot the sticks on a tunnel? Was he engaging a target or just throwing rounds downrange?
  8. Yep, I have a Cav Arms lower that I bought from a fellow forum member that had a GI hammer lightened in the same fashion by Mr. Benny Hill. It's all polished and neat where the hook was removed. It has run flawlessly every month since March.
  9. I hate it when people (that you have zero desire to even contemplate) suddenly appear out of the either wanting to catch up. I hate it even more when that person is an ex-girlfriend from years ago. I further hate my lousy attitude about it...
  10. http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/ Does not appear that they are listed yet. KBI may not have submitted samples or paid the fees yet to have the Jericho listed yet.
  11. I hate that dead trees are expensive...
  12. FWIW: As mentioned above, S&W is in the midst of their annual maintenance shut down and a majority of the employees have been out on vacation since August 1st. Probably including the ones that email return labels. The only production line running is involved with M&P15-22's. They start back up full production, with all hands on deck, Monday, 17 August.
  13. "Keep yer danged ol arm straight...shoot faster..." :roflol: :roflol:
  14. both are ATK products, not too surprising
  15. Most mark up a fixed dollar amount, rather than using a percentage markup. In my experience that number is surprisingly small on new guns. Used guns, like used cars, is where the profit generally is...
  16. I have a couple of pair. Shirts do stay tucked in rather well. The fit is better than 5.11 (which tend to run small). The drawback, at least here in the South in the summer, is the canvas on the standard is hefty and hot. Same is true of standard 5.11.
  17. Thanks Gregg, I learned something new! I had been under the assumption that 38 Super was 0.355 diameter. Should have Googled it long ago (where's Flex with the "use the search" suggestion)... SAAMI bullet diameter specification is 0.356 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.38_Super http://38super.net/ Interestingly, most ammo manufacturers appear to be loading 38 Super with bullets that are .355 or .3555
  18. I have spoken with several of my customers about the Umarex (Colt name and logo was licensed), with 9 out of 10 having some issue with the rifle. I've handled a few samples of the S&W M&P15-22; they were neat and they functioned well for a bunch of guys at the range. S&W began delivering small quantities of M&P15-22's to wholesale the last week of July, so look for one on your dealer's rack this week... ETA: I just field stripped a new M&P15-22. The trigger components appear to be standard AR parts and all the hole locations on the lower appear to be the same (without breaking out the calipers to measure). The pistol grip and the butt stock can be changed out for aftermarket parts (i.e. Magpul, Viltor, Hogue etc). The integral carbine length buffer tube is hollow so you can add some weight. The magazines are a proprietary design that S&W produces in-house.
  19. No Shoots/hard-cover can certainly be bullet magnets if you concentrate on *not* hitting them. No shoots seem to be stronger though...
  20. I loosened the top screw on the butt plate, inserted a loop of paracord (just the outer cover) to make a quick sling loop, and tightened the screw back up...the setup worked well thus far to hold the back side of a three point sling.
  21. I am not sure why S&W chose those specific grips (Bangers only had so much say in the specs)...good news is that's an easy change. S&W is also in the process of phasing out the aluminum Performance Center cases, so it is likely that somewhere in this run the guns will not have the case from Mike's photo. The costs on S&W PC products has jumped a good bit since the original run of 627 38Supers (circa 2003), that's why no extra Hogue grip and no solid extra muzzle cap. FYI - Tom Kilhoffer at TK Custom is producing a batch of 38 Super moonclips...
  22. The scaled down airsoft targets are quite fun, while giving you the feeling of a standard target presentation at distance.
  23. Look for the guns to be in your local dealers hands Tuesday or Wednesday...
