  1. This is something I've been working on in dry fire training. I'm left eye/right hand, and my right eye is pretty weak. It is getting easier and easier
  2. I don't have an open pistol yet, so I didn't vote. I use silhouette for my 9 minor loads, and I have a bunch, so I'm following this with great interest! Keep the info coming!

    Safe Area

but if you are not in the safe area, you can't be handling it in the safe area. You must be a lawyer. I'd like to be at the match where you pull that. that's not even lawyering. if you are not in the safe area, and you throw something into the safe area, no reasonable person could make the argument that you handled that object in the safe area. I have no need to 'pull that' at a match or anywhere else, but I might not dq a competitor who dropped something onto a bench so he could go help reset or whatever. How about once you have to retrieve the mag? You're done then, no way to do that without "handling" the mag.
  4. I agree that it's not much of a problem. I am not worried about it at all.
  5. I just got one of these, very nice! It feels really good in the hand.
  6. Ctay: My policy is a "personal articles policy". right now, I have almost $30,000 on it, and i will be adding more to it.
  7. i'm using xtreme bullets. 230 gr rn 5.2 gr vv 320 1.25 gives me about 800 fps.
  8. @ctay, I'll see what kind of policy it is. I'm not sure it's specific to guns.
  9. I had an m&p 9, put an apex into it. It was ok, but I had accuracy issues as well. I could hit well at 10 yards, but it really went to heck at 15. I traded it off soon after that. I now have an xdm competition 9, and I love the feel of the xd/xdm lineup.
  10. I have one through state farm, and they are not squeamish at all for me. I put a value on my guns and optics, not them, and they insure for the stated amount.
  11. I've been reloading for a few years now, and I still use xtreme 115's. xtreme 115 rn oal 1.1 5.4gr ramshot silhouette. This produces some very very accurate ammo for me in my 9's.
  12. I don't think you can make 308 out of 30-06. -06 is not as thick as 308 comparing case dimensions. The 308 parent case is 300 savage.
  13. @pbcaster45 Oh man, sorry to hear about your trailer! At least you weren't in it at the time!
  14. PBCaster, what was your 320 load? My current load is xtreme 180 rnfp 1.18 4.7gr TG ~950 fps
  15. In my area, we have several very good idpa matches and clubs. Changing rules is just a part of this game, I don't worry about it much. I don't like the 1 second penalty change, but if you go down zero, it's not a problem. It will just serve to widen the distance between skill levels. I shoot uspsa as well, which I do like better, but idpa is a fun game too.
  16. I use vv 320 for my 45 loads. 5.2 for a 230, averages 795 fps. I like this powder a lot. I tried 5.6 silhouette for 40/180, but it didn't even come close to making major. 5.4 gr of silhouette for 9/115 is super accurate for me, at 1175 i'm using 4.7 gr TG for 40/180.
  17. First verify that they do not in fact work. Yes, verify first. The issue I had with the bullet coming halfway out didn't happen often, but often enough that it wasn't completely reliable in matches.
  18. West side! I think I know who you are Nick. I'm on the uspsa Washington FB page too, first name is Earl.
  19. I have a pair of DefendEars 2 as well. I haven't had them for long, but they are definitely doing the job for me!
  20. Hi All! I started doing steel challenge matches 2 years ago, and last year I did idpa and uspsa and steel. I'm looking forward to the start of this year, and getting better. I'm also looking forward to gaining more knowledge from everyone on this site!
  21. This is exactly why I shoot too. I'm very competitive, and my knees don't like basketball anymore. I also love to shoot.
  22. I went with the edge because of the ramped bull barrel. I have one in 45 and 40.
  23. I've had problems with the Wilson mags, but the tripps have been rock solid. The problem with the Wilson mags is that a bullet would come halfway out of the mag, and get stuck. Can't rack it out, you have to try to push it back into the mag while it's still in the gun. Wilson mags work fine for me in 45, but not for 9mm in the RO
