The people I've seen doing the flip and catch seem quite competent at it. No issues. Our IPSC matches sometimes have much tighter "sectors" than 180 degrees (as allowed by IPSC rules). Less experienced/competent shooters sometimes go uncomfortably near the weak hand side sector marker when clearing their pistols.

9.1.6 (and sub paragraphs) Edit I see that 9.1.6.1 is different between USPSA and IPSC: USPSA: "If it cannot be determined which hit(s) struck wholly within hard cover and subsequently struck another cardboard target, a reshoot shall be ordered." IPSC: "If it cannot be determined which hit(s) on the scoring area of a scoring paper target or no-shoot are the result of shots fired through hard cover, the scoring paper target or noshoot will be scored by ignoring the applicable number of highest scoring hit(s)."

I get it now. So, the piece of plastic puts some pressure on the case but still lets you insert the case.

Has it always done it, or did it change?

What about.... Are any of the other volunteers up to taking the MD role, to let you take some other role for a change, and in case you are ever busy with something else?

Lots of people seem to rack their (IPSC) Production Optics pistols using the optic as handle. Either with the palm towards the optic, or the palm on the top of the slide and index finger touching the optic.

During last weekend's IPSC Match, I observed over a hundred competitors handling their pistols. A pretty significant number of Production Optics shooters used the optic itself for racking the slide.

During the weekend, I RO'ed just over 100 IPSC competitors. There were many styles of unloading but the only minor issue was when this tall guy was showing clear up where he could see the chamber but I couldn't. I had to ask him to lower the pistol a bit.

Can you post a photo? I cannot visualize what exactly you have done. I have an old SDB and tall brass like .357 Mag is a bit finicky about placing the case in the first station. No problems with stumpy ones like .45ACP.

Is 3N38 any good in Super/Supercomp?

What cartridge have you used N105 in? I thought it would be too bulky? Some seem to struggle to get enough 3N38 in 9mm. For other uses, it seems too fast for heavy Magnum revolver loads. Too small a niche to sell in quantities that make commersial sense, much like N32C which was hoped to interest Cowboy Action shooters?

A bit of wear on a pistol is just proof that it has been used. A very light coating of oil will keep the pistol from rusting. I put allen head grip screws on my 1911 style pistol. I'm pretty sure torx is also available nowadays. Changing the trigger pull is really a gunsmithing job - or try the Nighthawk unit.

What do you mean VV stopped making N105? At least Vihtavuori still lists it and it is available at "the usual" places in Finland.

Does THIS Rogue Tactical still exist?

I have never seen classifications used at any IPSC Matches. I guess most just don't see the point. If you keep placing well, you are pretty good. If you keep getting 60% Match Scores, you also ran. Our club has a Level II Match coming up. 3 out of 151 competitors seem to HAVE a classification. The rest are Unclassified.

Trying to go faster than you realistically can go? What happens if you deliberately go slow? Just to get good hits but ignoring time.

Have you tried on Mechanix gloves? Many seem to like them for light protection while finger dexterity is needed.

A more local group is showing a couple of concerns: - what dot sight is going to survive Major loads when mounted on the slide? - the proposed rule does not allow mounting the dot on the "normal" rail on the Laugo Alien.

It is OK. I can see how gloves (one or two) could be beneficial on some "long gun" stages.

At our spring Level 2 IPSC Match, PCC squads shot last and one or two stages were changed a little for them. Some different target placements or a few Mini targets, instead of regular.

Two Short or even Medium stages in a single bay can work fine, as long as there isn't anything that is really difficult to reset. Long stages, no. It also depends on what you have before and after those stages. Shooting two stages in a single bay usually means that you need to run them "synchronized": one stage shoots, the other stage shoots, and then both go to score and reset.

I've shot some IPSC matches where that was an option: shoot targets that you cannot see, or see fully, behind a soft cover wall, or run to a place where you can see them well. I remember well one where there were targets low behind a low wall, and one where there was a plate behind a wall. Getting to a position where you had a clear view meant more distance running and more time.

Can't you get your support hand higher?

Vihtavuori N310 should be good. It is fast burning, so even light loads would give enough pressure to burn pretty clean. Start around 3.5 or 3.6 gr, and see if you need more to make PF. Just make sure you don't get double loads. Even N320 is a little too slow burning for light loads.
