  1. No. Not enough to be measurable anyway. If you were to shoot long range rifle, the different air density would affect the "air resistance", and therefore trajectory. Is there a big difference in temperature? That tends to have an effect.
  2. Looks cool! If the bull barrel is 4.33" it is slightly long for IDPA too. No problem for IPSC Classic. I remember hearing complaints about Buls that had incorrectly fitted barrels at the back. No idea if it was a wide spread issue.
  3. Just thoughts, no more: How do you know that the previous bullet exited the barrel? Unburnt powder could suggest a too light charge - but the slide slamming back with great force suggests otherwise. Any loose or broken parts in the gun?
  4. What compensation does a USPSA RO get? I'm on the other side of the world, and shoot IPSC. Here, a RO shoots the Match for free, gets a roof over his/her head (which could be a bed at a hotel or cabin, or a mattress on the floor with a dozen others) and gets a nourishing lunch. A Range Master, or other higher positioned person, has some more benefits but no actual pay.
  5. I have the PWL for my Ruger GP100. Works great. There is a screw for tension around the cylinder, so the K frame would probably work. The angle is not adjustable but I'm quite comfortable with it. I see the L frame version of the Sickinger Range Master is also in stock.
  6. I'm a bit old school, and have found some leather holsters from a shop in Germany. For N frame S&W, this might work: https://www.sportshooter.de/en/sickinger_range_master_revolver-0591.html?cfg_region=29&cfg_sprache=EN - select Schwartz (black), S&W 4 Zoll N-Rahmen (4" N frame) and Rechtshänder (right handed) - they seem to have a couple of those in stock. I have that model for a 1911, and it has been working fine. It has a couple of possible barrel angles.
  7. I didn't remember what a P9 was. Looks like a CZ 75.
  8. Now, everybody, stand up and put your hands on the same side of your body. ... and check where your wrists are in relation to your belt.
  9. IPSC has: "Unless otherwise specified, the competitor must stand erect, facing downrange, with the handgun loaded and holstered, and arms hanging naturally by the sides (see Appendix E2)."
  10. Shadow 2 Compact is much lighter.
  11. I think my thumb just rests on the safety lever. No conscious pressure anyway. I try not to put unnecessary pressures on the pistol. The muzzle will bounce but it will also come back down. And when there's no tensions in the grip, it will come back to the same place.
  12. ... and then somebody figured that you can make Major with a single stack 1911, in .38 Super, with a port or two in the comp. The S&W pistols may have been the first "high capacity" IPSC/USPSA Open guns.
  13. No pin shoots anywhere near me either. Many years ago, we used to shoot pins just as targets among other targets. Now, ranges have banned them. Apparently, there were issues getting rid of the wrecked pins and their debris.
  14. In early '90s people were still using tubular dot sights. Tasco, Aimpoint Comp? Then C-More started coming along with the open lense arrangement. The mount on the S&W looks as if a C-More Slide Ride might go on it?
  15. Gen 2 doesn't have finger grooves, and the stock triggers tend to be fine. I have about 10,000 rounds through mine. The plastic sights and a trigger return spring are the only casualties, so far.
  16. Grips can be replaced. Different color, different thickness, different contours. Does anything look familiar at https://www.czub.cz/en/firearms-and-products-family/shadow-2
  17. There's another photo several posts back. November. The darker one is a Schapendoes (a Dutch shepherd breed) and the young one is a pretty large Long Haired Pyrenean Sheepdog, in a somewhat uncommon color. Most likely he will get darker when the puppy hair goes.
  18. The puppy has grown pretty tall.
  19. If all else fails, just shoot the targets. Try to find all of them, and reload before you run out.
  20. ... Or invest in a PCC with a retarded or even gas operated action.
  21. Or... if you only foresee loading pistol ammunition with the machine, and only a few thousand a year, consider the Square Deal B.
  22. Can you get the jacket out of the case?
  23. Korths are cool guns. If you can afford it, get one just for the coolness factor. I don't think you should expect it to be a superior race gun, though. I've seen one at the range. A black and red one with all sorts of rails. I've understood that the guy is not short of small change.
  24. I bet there were some heart attacks in the uprange crowd.
  25. Our club doesn't have weekly or monthly Matches. There's a good number of IPSC clubs, with ranges within "a couple of hours". During the time when there is (hopefully) no snow, there is a Match in the area, most weekends. Mostly from 6 to 9 stages and 60 to 100 paying competitiors, plus the crew (20 to 40?) shooting for free. Our club has now been arranging two Matches in a season + maybe a smaller indoor Match during the winter. There's half a dozen guys who have been taking turns as MD and Range Master, or there might be a RM or Stats Officer from a different club. A similar bunch has been coming up with stage designs, and gathering whatever help they may need in building it. The rest of the club members are urged to help as ROs and in resetting. The whole crew participates in teardown, although we might leave a couple of stages up for a while afterwards. Some might start building stages during the preceding week, some do it on the Friday before the Match. On Saturday morning, the crew shoot the Match, doing the ROing and resetting within the squad. Paying competitors shoot on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, with the crew doing all ROing and resetting for them.
