  1. The one thing that COULD explain the policy is that they have their hands full with making new guns. Which they do.
  2. You must confuse IPSC with IDPA Sure, you usually have to move to get all the targets in an IPSC match. Quite likely you also need to lean or kneel for something, at some point.
  3. Many like to have an extended cylinder release.
  4. But the guns. My first instinct was to have more ports, popples, whatever, closer to the chamber where you have more pressure.
  5. Steel Challenge was mentioned.... What do people use there for Open guns?
  6. Who knows what match organizers mean by it.... What comes to my mind first is more stages but many of them are short. Short stages are great fun - a blast - if they are well designed and built. One Best Practices item for IPSC is to put the things that are more elaborate to reset in short stages. Swingers and movers, and such.
  7. The official IPSC website has rules translations too. At least handgun rules in Spanish: https://www.ipsc.org/rules/rules_translations.php
  8. If you had an interpreter who can handle the relevant vocabulary ... maybe. That would make everything take longer, though.
  9. I suppose you cannot eliminate recoil. The Alien design just directs it differently, so that you get less muzzle flip. Sort of like the compensator on an Open pistol eliminating muzzle flip - but you still get a bump in your hand.
  10. The short cylinder does look a little strange. Saves weight, though. The regular GP100 is a good fit in the L Frame leather holsters that I have. I'm pretty sure this will fit many N Frame holsters.
  11. Shooting revolver in winter keeps me from losing as much brass in the snow (or mud if the conditions are nasty).
  12. IPSC rules do not mention braces. Not sure if a US IPSC match would agree to consider a brace a stock, for the purposes of a match..... IPSC PCC Rules: 5.1.10 The firearm must be fitted with a stock enabling it to be fired from the shoulder
  13. I hate it when rules make you use magazines that are not fully loaded. For the "Limited" division, 30 round magazines are long enough to monopod the rifle on the magazine - and 30 rounders is what people mostly have.
  14. I've been shooting Classic (IPSC version of SS). Whatever I shoot during the winter will be with the revolver. Might stick with that for the upcoming season. Not expecting to win anything....
  15. Looks like a brace. So: no-go.
  16. Did you get involved with the recent IPSC World Shoot? There's some threads in the CZ section that should be of interest. For example https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/268074-tactical-sports-to-czechmate-conversion/
  17. Which kinda makes my point. USPSA allows it but US legislation makes it difficult.
  18. Some stage builders like to anchor stuff with really long screws. That might depend on what is in the ground, though. The use of a cordless drill is recommended.
  19. This is a twist of legislation. On my side of the world, a Roni is just an accessory to a pistol. The pistol is still a pistol if you can install and remove the accessory without tools. A Roni or Micro Roni would be the cheapest way to try PCC if you already have a compatible pistol. A rifle or carbine is easier to get in terms of bureacracy, here, as long as you have at least 30 cm / 12" of barrel, and it cannot be fired at a length of less than 60 cm /24".
  20. I recently had an appointment with our "occupational health" physician, and mentioned lead: "You need a lot of exposure to be affected. Do you cast bullets?" "No." "Don't worry about it."
  21. There was recently an attempt to introduce a Modified (or something) Rifle Division in IPSC. Low pewered optics, no silly multiple bipods. Something along those lines. It never got far enough to have a chance. Not sure what exactly happened. Perhaps people didn't want an explosion of a zillion different divisions, as has happened with Pistol.
  22. Take a look at what USPSA rules say. edit: It doesn't look like a "brace". It is a stock. Pretty slim but still a stock, even on the Micro, not to speak about the full size Roni.
  23. So, USPSA allows it but US (and local?) legislations makes it difficult.
