  1. I love shooting long range but watching it is like watching paint dry. I've seen some very well produced PRS and NRL videos, and no amount of editing, commentary, interviews or slo-mo can make the shooting interesting to watch. That said, have you ever seen any of the 3GN episodes from back in the good old days? Some pretty well done, interesting and fast paced action in those shows. But 3GN had it's problems and network TV had it's issues with the scary guns. It's interesting to think how it would've gone if it debuted in the era of streaming.
  2. I should go do that. Been having reset failures maybe two or three times per hundred lately. Never used to do that, and I never get to inspect it after a failure since the only time I shoot is in a match to conserve primers.
  3. Yes it's steel. Works quite well pinned on my 14.5" barrel.
  4. Pretty easy to test. Shoot a bunch of pairs at paper and measure average dispersion. Remove comp and do it again. There was a noticeable difference when I did it but everyone's ammo/gun/stance is different.
  5. The best part was when the 3 gun memes FB page was having a field day with it, and it turned out she was in the group and could take a joke and even make some too.
  6. Got a screenshot for the non IG people?
  7. There seems to be no standardized pipe size, I've seen them all different diameters, thicknesses and lengths. Part of the game is identifying the one 9lb pipe in an array during walkthrough. Just adds to the challenge.
  8. Just read this thread from the beginning, some of the posts from last year haven't aged well! Based on this article: https://mattstoller.substack.com/p/concentrated-firepower-what-high they know they have a monopoly and are pretty happy with current prices. Don't hold your breath waiting for them to drop.
  9. @ecn515 has a couple JP's, they seem to work for him. Buddy of mine used a Whiskey Arms for a long time, it never failed but it sure felt gritty charging it with all the bare aluminum rubbing together. My personal experience says not to touch any of the really cheap ones on the market.
  10. I think the non gamer crowd is already gravitating towards the MPVO+RD thing, but DMR builds are all the hotness right now so that makes sense. I have yet to talk to a really good open shooter that believes an offset or top mount red dot is as fast or intuitive or biomechanically helpful with tight pairs as either an LPVO or RD mounted in the primary location. I even shot a club match with Froelich once, and despite all the cool well edited videos he's in depicting him always using the offset, it appeared if he could leave the LPVO on 1x and use it he would.
  11. I don't know why no other manufacturers have tried to match the 1x performance of the Razors. They keep adding things like zero stops and locking turrets and stuff that LPVO's don't really need.
  12. In theory yes, but not many FFP's have bright illumination. The Triji has daylight bright-ish, Nightforce is nuclear, Razor G3 is also very bright. Can't think of any other's I've seen that are worth a darn on a sunny day.
  13. They're super common in WI/IL/MN matches and they run great. ADM sponsors a ton of matches in the area to and they're good people.
  14. Well great. Now I have multiple people PMing me telling me none of this happened and if I don't shut up about it I'll get burnt at the stake for heresy. Again, not saying you're lying, just saying I really kicked the hornets nest. Also Ft. Benning rules at least specifically disallow staging, which means anyone that did it cheated to get an advantage. That should be a huge deal, but 3 gunners hate rules I guess so no one cares.
  15. Innovation is good. New tech and new ways to solve problems are good. But you don't see USPSA shooters staging mags everywhere on the stage in case something goes wrong. Or standing on coolers to shoot over an obstacle. And yes, that's a real thing that's caused significant drama in PRS.
  16. It's jokingly called tactical benchrest for a reason. MD's come up with the most convoluted of situations to try to force awkward shooting positions only to allow everyone to circumvent them by bringing a truckload of shooting aids to negate the challenge.
  17. I like seeing people bring a bunch of bags to the line. It usually means entertainment is in store. I've always seen the exact opposite. And I'd ask to see the rule book if I did see that happening.
