Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. Yup miss read that completely thank you lol
  2. So PT is running a sale to the end of this week in the Honcho race shop 2 free barrels and 25% off. Priced my build out to $3500 which seems to be a pretty stellar deal for an open pistol. Is there anything else in that price range worth looking at? Is the honcho GTG/worth the money/wait?
  3. I know you are right I just don’t like it. Lol guess it’s hard to swallow the truth for the money spent. I am just not a fan of companies being able to use this as an excuse when their guns don’t run especially when you follow all of their guidance. Additionally I like to believe that there has been some advancement in engineer and technology when it comes to building 9mm 1911 style pistols. If we were talking early generation Para pistols yes I get that there is a lot of tuning to be done. I just don’t feel in this day and age with modern machine and a wealth of knowledge out there plus a company advertising functionality, reliability (particularly in their mags) etc that it needs to be tuned is an acceptable response. I’ll await a response on my repair and if they can’t do anything you’ll see it posted on the classifieds shortly after and I’ll stick with a plastic fantastic that my simple brain can understand.
  4. I concur with your thought process. With the being said they are their mags that they tuned. I did send all of them out with them. As far as ammo goes I have used their recommended cartridge configuration (124gr Berrys RN 4.1gr N320 1.15 OAL) and hand loaded them with the same problems. I since have tried numerous other factory ammo to no avail. At the end of the day if it can’t shoot factory ammo with out malfunctions every 30 rounds it ain’t worth it to me. I had a STI Edge that wasn’t nearly as finicky as this is. I don’t fee for a gun that I’ve owned for 5 months should have this many problems particularly when they advertise the ability to shoot factory ammo
  5. I purchased one of the high dollars open guns from a in my mind reputable brand. I shoot 3 Gun primarily so it’s a 9 minor slide ride 2011 style pistol. I’ve been having a ton of issues with the gun out the box failure to eject failures to feed etc. I have about 2000 rounds down the gun at this point so it’s past the break in period. I decided to reach out to the company being that they advertise their guns as rock solid. They promptly had me send me gun back to them for them to take a look. It has since been 3 weeks since they have had the gun and I haven’t heard a thing. Getting a bit frustrated after spending a couple grand on a pistol that hasn’t performed and feel that the service has been lack luster. Am I over reacting about a 3 week service time frame? I understand people wait years for pistols but figured service is something different and should more accurately reflect a companies level of customer service. Any recommendations on what to do? Otherwise if I decide to flip this pistol what would others recommend I look into open pistol wise?
  6. I’ve been stock piling AA’s as I find them but saw Remington American Clay & Field in stock at my local sport goods store. The hull feels sturdy in hand but has anyone tried these in a mag fed? They advertise reloadable hill similar to that of the AA’s. https://imgur.com/a/Vv8gh2y
  7. Most matches 3 gun wise will be within 600 yards. I do want to start doing some DMR/Sniper matches as well so I’m looking to have cross platform tools. Arca rail seems to be a must in the sniper matches
  8. Switching over to open this year with my dissident coming in a week. Already have my open pistol and rifle set up otherwise but was looking for some help on go to shooting rests. What bags bipods and tripods do you recommend or have been using successfully in matches?
  9. I recently moved and decided to pick up 3 Gun and USPSA. I think 3 Gun needs a larger governing body (I.e. 3GN) as well as intro course/classes. I think a big part that attracts people to USPSA is the classification system. I have a friend across the country and we still compete to see who can place higher in the same division. I think if 3 Gun had a similar classifying system more people would be interested in competing. This way it’s a game but each match has a higher meaning. Set up classifier stages on a standard 50 yard bay that gets you through all 3 guns most likely without having to load anything unless you miss. Then at the end of the match rather then compare yourself to the pro’s you can compare to others in your division/class. I think they should play with the divisions a little but rule set wise. Mag fed shotguns are becoming more and more reasonably priced so I feel like a limited mag fed shotgun might take away the loading barrier. Limit mags to 8 or so. I was able to pick up loading in a match or two and am pretty comfortable with it now but I think the mag fed helps encourage the older generation to still participate. A consistent rule set is also required action from that governing body for sure. I was lucky enough to find a range locally that runs monthly matches that aren’t particularly long. Usually 6 stages starts at 9 ends around 1. Personally 3 Gun is a lot more fun to me than any USPSA match but at the end of the day do what you love.
  10. So CGW sent me an email that they were ready for my slide and got it done in 3 weeks. It’s in its way back now beyond happy especially for the price.
  11. Looking to get my shadow 2 optic cut for a RMR. CZ Customs is 8-10 weeks CGW is 16 weeks. PM only does a bunch of fancy cuts with the optic cut but all I want is the optic cut. Anyone have a recommendation on who can cut a slide for a RMR with a sub 6 week turn time?
