  1. No, I mean it in the face value way. I hear constantly that pistols shouldn't have to compete against rifles. We never hear anything like Prod shouldn't have to compete against Open, even though the capabilities of an Open gun aren't that far behind a PCC. But it makes sense that we don't hear that, you're only competing against those in your division, even if there's some other guys shooting rifles while you shoot a pistol.
  2. Just out of curiosity, lets say Production and Open got paired up. Would people still say "X division shouldn't have to compete with the other"?
  3. Oh I definitely try to shoot clays from the max allowable distance when I'm choked up. But it's not always an option, especially when it's a toaster clay at 7 yards that only goes 6 feet high.
  4. Did this with lead shot once, just to see what happens. I think it ended up just slightly heavier than an H2. I think it's still in one of my rifles somewhere.
  5. Just to be sure, you've checked that there isn't a zero stop that you're bottoming out on? Sounds silly, but 9 times in 10 that's the answer to these threads.
  6. Agree 100%. There is a significant time advantage to be found when running by static clays with a spreader and pulling the trigger without so much as a hint of a sight picture vs. deliberately pointing the gun and needing to see both the target and the bead with a light mod. Unfortunately MD's in my area seem to have negated my spreader choke by putting some 20+ yard heavy steel in every stage that has clays.
  7. Carlson's have been doing just fine for years. I'm sure someone with a patterning board and all day to count holes could prove that spending more gains you something, but good luck proving that it makes a difference in 3 gun.
  8. LOL, I've never seen a gun as big as a TS almost disappear in someones hands before. I wish I could offer some advice, but my hands don't even have the square footage to replicate your problem!
  9. Found your problem. You've got sasquatch hands. Should probably do something about that.
  10. FWIW the ads don't bother me at all, I'd much rather scroll past more of them than have the site shut down.
  11. I just spent 10 minutes trying to get this to happen. I couldn't. If my thumb is on top of the safety and I'm crushing the grip like I should be, no amount of support hand meat can push it up.
  12. Got a chance to shoot the JP5 as a stage gun at the Vortex JP Tri-Gun. While I only had ten rounds, and shooting them on the clock wasn't exactly helping me make a thorough assessment, I'll say you can believe the hype. The recoil impulse felt so close to identical to a Ruger 10/22. It was ridiculous. My well tuned blowback gun has nothing on it. I've only shot an MPX once but it beat my memory of that. The one caveat was that you couldn't pull the charging handle back a little to verify a loaded chamber, apparently that jams things up right quick.
  13. When you say "bump", do you mean that you are accidentally engaging the safety while shooting? I occasionally did this till I installed the CZC extended safety and changed my grip to have my thumb riding the safety.
  14. Show up an hour early to every match.
  15. I've got CMC's, Hiperfire's, JP, Triggertech, Elftmann's and Timney's. For 3 gun my favorite is the Calvin Elite followed by the Elftmann 3 Gun. Hate 2 stage for 3 gun, never liked any Geiselle's, the Larue single stage is decent on a budget, the CMC 2.5lb is better on a budget. Any of them that you practice a lot with will be fine.
  16. I don't own one but everything I've ever heard about them is excellent.
  17. Got it in August 2021, most foods have returned to tasting normal but eggs are still messed up. Which is a shame, I love eggs when they taste right. The weirdest thing was that s#!t, farts, farms, sewage plants, anything in that smell category had the exact same weird smell. That's back to normal now. Spray paints, other aerosols, nail polish, paint thinner, things like that all have the same unpleasant smell still.
  18. Trusting IL law enforcement in any regard is a gamble..
  19. Oh I wouldn't be against owning some myself, but I can't see myself wearing it from 7am to 3pm at a match.
  20. Yes they do. I recently went to a local rifle match that unbeknownst to me at the time of registration was a "tactical" match, and I was amazed by the number of 23 year old kids walking around with multi thousand dollar night vision set ups on their helmets in broad daylight. I can't imagine the full plate carriers and hydration setups or KAC rifles were cheap either.
  21. That's not inflation, it's just the Hodge business model. They mostly do secret squirrel .gov contracts, so the timmies get all bonered up and every time a Hodge product is released to the civilian market they go nuts.
  22. Do you have a hammer? Preferably like a waffle head framing hammer? Can't be a gunsmith without one.
