  1. I think Leograndis has a simplified hit factor system for his PCSL league. Maybe. I can't remember, been a while since I looked into it. He definitely has a very unique target. That said, the speed shoot stages at 3G Nats were specifically designed that way according to the MD. You either hero or zero, not much in between, and they saved them for the last day to put the pressure on.
  2. That was my second thought. I haven't seen a scope that I'd want to beat on that didn't come with locking or capped turrets.
  3. I can't wrap my head around how that would work without a hole to wire through. Sounds like a pretty drastic fix though.
  4. IL just passed a bunch of garbage laws, hasn't had any effect on IL club matches yet. Non compliance is where it's at. That said, 3 gun has been slow since rona everywhere that I'm aware of.
  5. The more I think about it the more this makes sense. Modified is already a hybrid division, what's more hybrid than a mag fed pump. I doubt it would get a ton of takers but I can't see a problem with the option being available.
  6. Sounds fair enough to me. I used to get all bent out of shape about this stuff, but I'm either mellowing out in my old age or I've just seen 3 gun numbers dwindle so much that I'm just happy to see people come to matches.
  7. Meh. If I've learned anything in years of 3 gun it's that equipment is so much less important than practice. If someone can't be bothered to practice an easy thing like quadloading I'm not really threatened by them regardless of gun type or division.
  8. Some Dissidents need a perpetual, never ending break in period. Seems like for every one I see run perfect there's one that is a very expensive turd.
  9. I've had two Faxon Gunners, and now I have none and won't spend another penny on Faxon products. 2/3 gun typically doesn't have stringent enough accuracy requirements that you need anything really special. Find something with specs you like and go for it. Just know that SS barrels will have shorter lifespans, and that an inch or two of barrel length has a minimal effect on real world effectiveness. The SA block is a good choice for switching between suppressed/unsuppressed.
  10. I like it a lot. I think my Hypertap has slightly more recoil reduction than the UT, but the ease of fine tunability makes up for it. Size and weight are a little unfortunate, but not a deal breaker for me. I wish I could say I've shot an Answer back to back with them for a direct comparison but I have not.
  11. Looks like he gone. I'm not sure what point they serve, one of his two posts I read didn't even have useless link hidden in it.
  12. Anyone done any port work on these? Might help a buddy out with his but I can't find any pics for inspiration.
  13. This has to be the answer. I don't see how we could improve upon it.
  14. I think so. Maybe. Probably. I might be able to check later. Worst case scenario you have to buy one G3 Pmag to pair with the extension, which given the cost of a mag relative to the extension doesn't seem bad.
  15. If it was a tight chamber bolt would still close fine on an empty chamber.
  16. Forgot all about the M1. But clearly we love shotguns, because our shotgun hate thread has turned into a shotgun buying thread. As to the demise of 3 Gun, just to add a data point, the WI 3G Championship, a well attended match near me was canceled this year and replaced by a 2 gun match because apparently people keep asking for it. Last I looked it had 9 registered after months of being open. Which reinforces my theory about all the people that say "I'd shoot 3 gun if you made concession X or Y for me" will never actually show. Get rid of shotguns, get rid of tough shots, get rid of long range or target scoring zones and they'll just find a new excuse not to show.
  17. To be fair, when I first got the gun I got carried away cutting springs to optimize everything to 110%, and probably shortened the service life of them considerably. And, I replaced most of them at the same time, so I can't say exactly which ones were the problem. All I know is I had like four malfunctions spread across a summer and it freaked me out and caused lots of lost sleep, because I'd had like five malfunctions in six years up to that point. So I went ahead and did the action spring, shell latch spring, shell lifter spring and a couple others. Been great since then. I too greatly prefer the 1301 to the M2. I actually like the receiver shape better for port work too, the receiver walls being way thicker allows you to make a wider "funnel" if that makes sense.
  18. Yes, and no idea, I don't know many people that have paid for port work.
  19. 4) Buy a 1301 for $1200 add a tube and some port work and never touch it till after 10k rounds when it should get all new springs. M2's aren't the magical malfunction-less guns people make them out to be. That reputation is just a holdover from the days when it really was the only good choice.
