  1. Having both 1911s and CZ 75 (TS) I will say that the trigger on the CZ is better than any other pistol on the market EXCEPT a well tuned 1911. I have spent countless hours tuning the TS trigger and while it is light and crisp and the sear engagement is short, I can't get rid of the gawd-awful take up. Also not a fan of flat triggers and that would be the first thing I'd change. My Caspian double stack came with their Trik Trigger (only one available for that frame) which is identical to the DWX trigger pad. I went to lot of trouble to change the pad to a curved 3 hole. I did it once, I'll do it again. And I can honestly say that I prefer the straight pull over the swinging trigger, but if you could tune a swinger down to as short as my 1911s I doubt I would be able to tell the difference.
  2. With the straight pull trigger, I'm gonna make an educated guess and say hammer/sear/disco group will be 1911 with CZ hammer strut and mainspring group. I'm really interested in seeing how the barrel locks up. I know it's a linkless barrel, so prob'ly CZ style "kidney bean" on the bottom, but does it use the 1911 style locking lugs, or the more modern block type lock up on the top end?
  3. When I saw the title I was expecting Tupperware lids.

That's all I have to say about that.
  5. I'm a little confused by "single shot revolver". If it's a revolver, it's not single shot.
  6. Would really like to see pics of your spent casings/primers/primer pockets. If you are running over pressure loads (SAAMI spec) this may just be the cost of doing business. If you are running SAAMI spec loads there may be another issue that needs to be addressed. I'd want to find the source of the problem, not a fix for the symptoms.

    What is it?

If you don't KNOW what you are doing, neither Zen nor any other discipline will help you. You can only work within the knowledge you possess. If you don't KNOW, beyond any shadow of doubt, there is no religion, discipline, gadget or magic that will improve your performance.
  8. And we laugh because it's funny, and we laugh because it's true.
  9. Problem "Big" Guys often have is that the chest gets in the way of properly extending the arms and keeping them together on the grip of a pistol. Arms are squeezing the chest and the chest is pushing the arms out and it make things not only uncomfortable but very inconsistent.
  10. Anyone stealing my phone is a total moron.
  11. None of my guns are too pretty to shoot. And Todd understands that. We had them at the range last Saturday and they will be fired again. I don't build guns to sit in a safe.
  12. Dang! I needed those demerits to complete my collection.
  13. JYD (Junk Yard Debutante) PM me for my address so you can send me those demerits. I won't spend 'em. I'm gonna frame them and hang 'em on the wall next to my Trump 2020 flag.
  14. Taco Bell is not Mexican. Try an authentic Mexican restaurant.
  15. Really depends on how tight your gun is. Much like the engine in a car, the tighter the tolerances, the lighter the oil. If your gun is a little loose a thicker oil has room to move within those tolerances. If your gun is tight, a thicker oil will slow the slide and may cause malfunctions from the slide not cycling properly. Field strip your gun and wipe ALL the oil off the frame rails and the tracks in the slide. Put the empty slide on the frame and check it for wiggle. If it doesn't wiggle at all, you need a thinner oil. I actually use Remoil on my pistols. Anything heavier will hydraulic the slide, unless I put only a drop on the front of each frame rail. Even then I can tell a difference in the way the slide cycles.
  16. I see what I'm aiming at. What I shot before, I know where the sights (iron or dot) were when I squeezed the trigger. So I'm not looking to see where the previous shot hit. At that instant all I want to see is the sights (iron or dot) aligned where I want the shot I'm making right now to hit.
  17. Got a few better quality pics today out in the sun. Every time I see the polish job I smile and cringe. I smile 'cause it looks so good, I cringe because I remember 100+ hours putting a callus on my thumb from rubbing emery paper on it to polish everything.
  18. Believe it or not, polishing EVERYTHING in your 1911 is one of the best upgrades you can do. It improves EVERYTHING. Just bring the parts to a nice shine and don't remove metal.
  19. I do not remove or disable ANY safety devices on guns. If a gun has a device I don't like, I don't buy it.
  20. This was a special limited run of matched frame and slide from Caspian. They only made 10. They arrived already parkerized and engraved, though after fitting the grip safety, the frame had to be reparked.
