  1. Take a chamber reamer to it. Irv is notorious for very tight specs on his stuff. We are not bullseye shooters and opening up the chamber won't hurt your accuracy enough to notice unless you are trying to shoot one hole groups at 50 yards.
  2. You can definately make a few bucks bringing an extra frame or two. Can't bring in a magazine that holds more than 10 or any rifles covered by the "Assault weapon" Ban.
  3. I believe this is the correct solution
  4. Since HM is basically dead in USPSA we made some changes to the division Heavy Metal Tactical. Let's see if this changes participation. (iii)b “Heavy Metal Tactical” division within the context of a USPSA multi-gun match at this time will follow the guidelines of the newly formed Heavy Metal division in the USPSA Tournament and Appendix B1 & B2 of the Multigun rules. Handgun: USPSA Limited 10 Division rules - Major Power Factor, Rifle: Major Power Factor, at least .308 Caliber. No more than 20 rounds loaded in a magazine. Shotgun: 12-gauge; No more than 9 rounds loaded.
  5. RIP Eddie You will be missed
  6. And obviously to prepare for the upcomming zombie apocalypse.
  7. The only thing the shooter has no control over is the broken bird coming out of the launcher (range equip failure IMO). A properly set up thrower will be consistant if engaged in the exact same place with the same load/choke combo. the differences come from different distances, angles, and power they engaged with. Harder the popper is hit the higher it goes. Not that much different than a star. Just harder to predict because of so many variables. I'm still not a big fan of them either way and would rather see birds on a swinger for movement.
  8. Ok, you guys are talking about disappearing targets and comstock scoring. This rule does not address that at all. Nothing has changed there. The new rule addresses the problem with disappearing targets in time plus. There was no provision for them. They scored as a regular miss. We thought it was better to score them as a bounus. Don't shoot them no harm no foul. Hit them and time is taken for your stage time. More in line with how disappearing targets are scored in comstock. Now as to your comments on them being inconsistant, I tend to agree but are they really any different than a texas star? That reacts differently depending on how it is engaged. I am not a big fan of them especially in big matches and think they should be used sparingly and in a way that leaves no doubt that they need to be engaged to do well in the stage. Tough to design by the way.
  9. I like that. Would this work San Angelo or Time Plus, or both? The new rule on flying clays only applies to time Plus. They are still disappearing targets in comstock scoring.
  10. I have one set up for open. One reason it is not popular is the lack of speedloader hooks. Mine are homemade. Ralph Arredondo shoots one also. He did most of the work on mine. Trigger, extended tube, jpoint mount. I built the speedloader gate. Works really good. much less recoil than the Bennelli and weighs less then the 1100. Rediculously reliable also. The one mod it needs is the same one the benelli needs, lifter need to be extended to work with speedloaders in open and to prevent thumb getting stuck when hand loading.
  11. More like a 100% chance! I use the cheap walmart Federal, either 71/2 or 8 depending on what they have. For slugs I use Brenneke reduced recoil. Most slugs come in a reduced recoil version and I reccomend them as full power will beat you up if there is a long slug stage. Where did you find Brenneke, reduced recoil slugs? I USED to run them, but, had to switch to Remington because I couldn't find a source for the Brennekes. Get mine from Scottsdale gun club in Phoenix. Not sure if he ships. I pick them up when I am in town.

  13. I swithched from a cooley/jp to the Arredondo comp. It is significantly better. Gun simply does not move.
  14. There are some Sections that have more than one state in them. I know that VA/MD is one Section. So, you could have a Section championship as well as a state championship for both MD and VA in that case. R, There are also some states with more than one section.
  15. Dillon makes a universal decapping die for rifle. put that where the sizing die goes and it will take care of the flashholes without adding an extra step.
  16. You are not cheating. Under USPSA rules multiple bullet weights are ok. But under the crono rules both are subject to being cronographed. Make sure you make the declared power factor and you are good to go. As for the non USPSA matches there is no rules prohibiting the practice that I have ever encountered. They don't even care what the power factor is.
  17. You can get 2 inch wide brown tape at Uhaul locations. Same color as the targets.
  18. Try Debbie Keehart she is a real estate broker in Mesa. debbie.keehart@azmoves.com
  19. I would agree here. Forgot to put it my post above.
