  1. I use an Arredondo. When locked there is no way the gun is comming out. The new Safariland holsters now have a positive lock on them if you want to stay with them.
  2. While there is no rule that says you can't engage before it is activated in a level 2 match, there is a rule that states it must be hidden prior to activation in a level2 match. Therefore it is an illegal stage.

    Occupy!

    How about occupying a job.
  4. In fairness, that is what the RO did, but some competitors felt that the 5 second penalty was worth it. In my view, this crossed the line between "clever" and "unsportsmanlike", but really did not justify a DQ. Hence the rule change. Much like the USPSA Forbidden action rule. OK addition, though I like ours better.
  5. Were you qualified to vote the first time around? Ballots only go to those who voted the first time around. Chris, really? Have the bylaws changed, or is the current version posted on USPSA.org? Can you please confirm whether the number of ballots mailed for the runoff is approximately equivalent to the number mailed initially? Considering the the president is up for election, the only people not receiving a run-off ballot should be those folks whose membership has expired/not been renewed since the original ballots went out. I'm really hoping that you quoted the procedure from memory, and made a mistake..... I should have said, those who received a ballot the first time around! Guess I shouldn't be posting at 1 am.

  7. We don't chrono shotguns because most all of the targets are birds or knockdown so they score the same major or minor. And any paper targets are shot with slugs. One ounce of lead makes major with any velocity that will run a semi auto shotgun! Chrono would be pointless.
  8. A few of us on Squad 4 (Me, JJ, and the Spokane Seans) were thinking about doing a chant during the awards and even have some t-shirts made to try and get USPSA Open to be more like outlaw Open, more freedom to inovate hence the "Free Open Now" slogan. They all bugged out on the awards due to it being at the Rivera, so I decided not to chant alone but I wanted to start it here to get some pressure going. If people are interested in the t-shirsts I'd be happy to get something going, PM me and I'll see it there are enough to make an order. Doug Hey! Don't include me in your s* stirring! I'll take one of those Tshirts thou, it will be a collector's item when the rule is finally changed oh, say, 8 years from now. (Just an estimate based on past performance) .jj I will trade you unlimited rounds in open for tactical being able to use cinched mags prone.
  9. So Vic are you saying that you don't mind the possibility that you could be beaten on a stage because someone got lucky and extra plates fell off or a couple birds came up broken, as long as the match keeps moving? This is a Nation Championship not a local club shoot. That being said, if I was design a Nationals I would not use flippers at all. They are not consistant enough to provide the same shot to all competitors. I'm not a big fan of stars either.
  10. Come on now JJ, I know you take great pride in running a great match with minimal rules but we are running a national organization. The "Rule Book" you refer to is the policies that we use with reguard to sponsors. That's right we have the audacity to actually have written policies for most all the things the organization does. Now as to an RO being required to guard preloaded shotguns. That is done by the RO's themselves as the only requirement for the RO's in the rules is that one is there when everyone is preloading. Apparently some RO's are not comfortable with a table of unattended preloaded shotguns.
  11. These two rules should have gotten our entire squad DQ'd. The BOD talked about this shortly before I left. IMO if an unloaded gun is in a holster it is safe and if it is in a bag it is safe and that is true whether it is on a belt on a shooter or otherwise. Three gun is a different animal. Constanting running to the safe area to bag and unbag weapons is only going to work if you have an ample safe area at each and every stage. I have never seen anyone bag and unbag a rifle or shotgun inside a safe area. You can unbag anywhere as long as there is a chamber flag. If you are at the staging area you only need an open bolt. The pistol in a holster removed is a no no.
  12. Keep in mind that uspsa can't just put the Nationals anywhere we want. It requires a range that wants to take it on. If you know of such a range contact Michael Voigt. Next year is in Vegas.
  13. I finally made it to Colorado to shoot a match. I am very glad I made it this one. Fantastic stage design, everthing ran on time, great prizes. This match needs to be on everyones must do list! Thank you to everyone involved in producing the match.
  14. What the Hell did they do with Taran's personality? Way too "Mr. Serious"
  15. http://www.healingbackpain.com/ Order the book, Healing back Pain. Read it and change your life
  16. Lots of shady companies involved in the industry. I am in a lawsuit with one in Kentucky right now. Look carefully at the company that wants to business with you.
  17. Actually USPSA requires whatever the course description says. Mosty just one but sometimes 2.
  18. That was back when someone detonated a round with a speed loader and they were banned at Rio solado.
  19. Open up the gas port some and should run anything, I run 3 dram walmart val pack stuff. also lifter needs to be extended to avoid the thumb issue.
  20. It is very much like a Bennelli only gas operated. Controls are like one also.
