Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Re: post 21 I just finished a 338 AI build and have the NF ATACR on it with 30 MOA rail, but more importantly is that the ATACR has a 34mm tube, and let me tell you this scope finds that last bit of light out there, my other NF are 30mm tubes and are impressive, but not quit the standard of the ATACR. Lastly, and simply put, resale of a NF is always present, always. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but tube diameter affects the amount of elevation travel, and objective size affects light gathering ability. A 30mm tube vs a 34mm tube light gathering is the same, but the 34mm will have more travel. A 56mm objective gathers more light than a 50mm objective (the glass quality being equal). I think the ATACR just has better glass and/or a larger objective.
  2. Just getting started in 3 gun. I shoot a bolt gun and AR in tac. matches. I'm left handed and have QD studs on the right side of my rifle and AR. The righties have the QD attachments on the left side. My question is for my Versamax, should I put the QD on the right side also for 3 gun for the few matches a sling would be needed? I ask because I saw a photo of a stock Versamax 3 gun version which had the rear QD on the right, and the forearm mount on the left. I don't understand how that setup would work, or its advantages if it does. Pics of your set up would be great. Thanks Bob
  3. Thanks That's what I kinda thought, but wasn't sure of.
  4. I have been picking up .45 ACP range brass to start reloading. It looks like there is a large variation in flash hole size. Is this normal? Is there any safety issue shooting with a larger flash hole? Will shooting mixed larger and smaller flash holes have any practical effect on accuracy on an 8" plate at 25 yards? I'm talking about flash hole size, not large vs small primer size.
  5. New guy question. All other things being equal, which "should", "in general", shoot the tightest 25 Yrd groups from a stock full size 1911? Montana Gold 230gr FMJ or 230gr JHP?
  6. Would above statements generally apply to .45 acp as well?
  7. Yes! (as of right now) Riflegear in Calif. http://www.riflegear.com/p-1922-mossberg-930-jm-pro-12ga-24-10-shot.aspx
  8. Thanks for the info. I used 18" lbs., which is the same amount I use on my bolt gun scope rings.
  9. Is there, and if so, what is the recommended torque for the Nordic Tube Clamp on a 930 JM Thanks
  10. What is the most common bullet weight for a .223 used in 3 Gun?
