  1. Yeah, imagine the young anti-gun mother, thinking the baby stroller will be used again to cart a precious baby around, bonding and making fond memories... then learning it's for a scary man to push around ASSAULT RIFLES with 50 bullet clipazines! The horror! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  2. I'd go on your local Craigslist and search for "wagon" "cart" "baby jogger" and you'll inevitably come up with something ultra cheap that can be modified in to something ideal for what you need.
  3. Now ain't that pretty! I have committed the p120 to be my wife's Limited minor pistol. I put in a CZUB SA trigger, all I had to do was drill the trigger pin out from 2mm to 2.5mm. And I fitted a CZ75 magwell. The p120 frame is .02" ish wider than a CZ75 frame, so I hit the frame with a file where the magwell slips over it. The Grips are LOK thin short grips, they required filing the bottoms at the back strap side about 1/16" so that the screw holes lined up & so they weren't hitting the magwell. My CZC 140mm base pads work fine with the magwell. My Springer +0 pads hit the magwell in the front. The trigger is very light and nice after putting the factory mainspring back in. I really look forward to shooting it in this configuration. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  4. There are plenty of brands where I wouldn't buy the clone out of respect for the owner. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  5. I suggest keeping the mainspring pretty heavy. The triggers are already super light from the factory, so they go to mush with a light mainspring, and the light mainspring doesn't help slow down the slide any more when you go light. And, it becomes less likely to set off a hard or high primer. I run a 9 lb recoil spring and 21 lb mainspring in my TS shooting 170 pf. I also just converted my sp01 clone to SA, and I was super unimpressed with the trigger with the 11.5 lb mainspring I had in there for DASA. I put the heavy factory mainspring back in and the trigger was just as light but way more crisp. I think you want to be taking your cues on spring weights from open shooters, not production shooters trying to accomplish very different things.
  6. You might get a mec-gar 17 round mag and see if that improves anything. I've heard anecdotally that they are more reliable than the CZ mags.
  7. This is what I'm talking about: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Alloy-FIREPOWER-Base-Pad-Kit-For-IPSC-USPSA-IDPA-SHOOTING-G17-19-22/264348886016?hash=item3d8c6be400:m:mGc9Pb4dtDWLJkLZjyKjwoQ The three I have work great, and arrived in like 2 weeks or less. $10.36 each, shipped. I suppose I could have spent 4x the amount for each to get three ignominous letters printed on the bottom, but I'm too pragmatic for that. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  8. Sounds like a wise plan! Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  9. If a first time shooter looked like they were just shooting in the general direction of targets, like they didn't understand how to use their sights, and it seemed like they were unconcerned about where those bullets were flying, I feel it's a matter of time till they send one over the berm. As an RO, I'd be watching carefully for an opportunity to yell "stop". Hopefully there would be an opportunity beforehand to give them some advice to slow down, see their sights and take it serious. 10. I thought I'd update this thread- The PSA forged lower AR9 I bought needed a little polishing on the feed ramp, and since then has run perfectly and is accurate like I expected. I'm very glad I went this route instead of a Ruger or sub2k. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  11. You can get the +5/6 Weinstein Tactical clone basepads for under $10 on ebay, and they work flawlessly. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  12. This might hurt, but if 2 people agreed to send you home, then honestly I'm thinking they thought you looked wild with the gun and that you didn't have enough experience to be running around with one, shooting at stuff you can't hit. They probably thought you just generally weren't safe enough and, rules be damned, weren't going to let you keep going. If you have video from the match we'd love to see it. 13. You'll end up upgrading from both eventually, so why not go with the cheaper option. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  14. Choose carefully who you have shoot it, if you want to be able to draw any conclusions from their results.
  15. Ok, well there was a match where I was laughing to myself at a guy. He was a little old guy with a beer belly. He had his shooting belt over his shirt, on top of the beer belly, with the pistol basically in his armpit. I'll never forget it. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  16. I wonder how long they will honor that code- if everyone knows it, it becomes the new defacto price. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  17. Before my first match, I got a Taurus PT101P and I thought it was just so badass because it looked like a beretta but it was .40 with 16 round magazines. "What could be better for Limited?", I thought. A had a fobus holster for it and paddle style magazine pouches. My bullets were facing the wrong way, and I started reloading for USPSA on a single stage. Looking back, it was all so less-than-ideal. So what. I think it's super lame to smirk at what is on the new guy's belt. Nobody starts this sport knowing all the ins and outs, unless someone else has shown them. It's not intuitive stuff. Of course it feels good to get to the point where you know all about the "right" gear, because you don't feel like an outsider anymore. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  18. I had a buddy TIG weld it. The factory safety plate is really thin and was melting off. It was tough to salvage, but It works. I do wish it had been possible to get the safety in the same spot in relation to my hand as on my Tac Sport. On the P120 it feels more like in between my lower TS thumb safety and a higher 1911 thumb safety. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  19. If I won a DAA backpack at a big match, I'd be happy. In the mean time, this Husky bag from home depot has pockets for everything, and it is indestructible. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  20. Personally I'd pay $6/thousand more for the coating Precision uses, and I wasnt aware of a discount code for BBI. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  21. If you bought Brazos bullets, then you were like me and going after the cheapest option. I found another really cheap optio that uses much harder lead. J-Ames bullets, and every picture I can find of their bullets has that matte grey/black color, which leads me to believe they have the same coating as Precision, which I think is the best. I'll be the guinea pig here; I'm ordering 2000 125gr 9mm bullets for $130 shipped ($.065 each) and will start a new thread on them after I've used them.
  22. I'm mailing a check today for 2k of their 125gr 9mm pills. Yes, a check in the mail, that's the only way to order. Pictures online show that matte grey/black color of Precision Bullets, which are by far the best bullets I have used. And the way they describe their coating online makes it sound like the same coating as Precision. BUT, these are a hair cheaper than Brazos bullets making the J-Ames bullets the cheapest option out there, and with a stated brinell hardness of 17 they shouldn't lead like the Brazos, so I think these might be winners. I'll start a new thread on them after I receive them.
  23. If your grip is high enough, that slightly angled-back SA pull might be really nice and feel straight back in relation to your hand. It definitely would be a cool thing to try out.
  24. Tonight I decided to make the P120 safety more like the CZ Custom extended safety I have on my Tactical Sport. The P120 may become my wife's pistol for Limited minor and as such, I want the safety to be easy to flick on and off. I started with 3/16 steel bar stock and cut a chunk to the width I wanted the safety to stick out. I used a carpentry tool to copy the CZC safety angle, and bent the bar stock strip to match that angle. Then I trimmed it with a grinder to match the length, shape and bevels of the CZC part. Next, I removed the P120 safety and put it in the vise. The idea was to grind it down to the flat plate. A little bit of grinding revealed a reminder that the safety's spring for the ball bearing detent come through that plate. I measured the depth of the hole, the proceeded to grind it flat. I'll drill the hole to it's old depth once the new paddle is on. Next step: either silver solder the paddle on, or get a buddy to tig weld it. I have a mig welder that I'm not very experienced with, and my concern is burning through the plate on the safety. Once attached, I'll polish it up to an attractive shape.
