  1. Excellent write up, thank you for taking the time to post! I can't wait to get different sights for my 43 to see how well it will really shoot. I can't hit the broad side of a barn with the glock plastic sights. What do you think of the ghost connector?
  2. I normally run a 10-8 rear sight and a tritium or fiber optic front on my carry guns, but I ordered a set of Trijicon HD's for my 43. I tried some out on a friends glock and a sig 320 and the sights seem really interesting for a carry platform. That orange front post really jumps out at you! Hopefully mine will be here in the next 3 weeks and I can put up some pictures.
  3. And what would a 6 creedmoor do better than a 243 ? The Creed has a far more efficient shoulder angle, which makes it both easier on the barrel and more accurate. You also get a longer neck which will allow more consistent neck tension when shooting the 105's.
  4. Interesting. I have never shot in an F-Class match, but I do quite a bit of shooting at 300 yards and I don't even turn my scope up to its full power (22). Maybe on the high dollar scopes the eye box is more forgiving on the higher zooms, but its a pain on my vortex hst.
  5. I really wish you could get the marking paint with a normal cap that doesn't require the can to be held upside down. I swear I get more paint on me than the target most of the time.
  6. You aren't going to have to spend too much money to send off the factory .243 barrel and have it bumped back for 6mm Creed. This rifle just keeps looking better and better, now where is the left handed version!
  7. That's a whole lot of zoom! Do you go up to 55x often in F-class?
  8. Spray down the barrel/chamber with whipe out and let it sit overnight, then patch out the barrel and brushes and q-tips.
  9. I use a DAA belt, but if I was serious into 3 gun I would look at the ELS belt.
  10. Does the walmart near you sell ammo? If so go by there every day on the way home from work and ask if they have any in stock. I have been able to pick up 2700 rounds of CCI Minimag (300 round packs, 3 box limit) in the last month or so for 21 bucks a pack. The problem is the local pawn shops buy these out and sell them for 30 bucks pack. You just have to be persistent and eventually you will luck out and find it.
  11. "Do you smell that? Hy-tek and Titegroup son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of Hy-tek. It smells like... Victory"
  12. Ranger, if you don't mind me asking what kind of holster do you wear on duty?
  13. Very cool chart, thank you for posting. I need to find some n320 to try once I run out of titegroup.
  14. How dark are the TR22's? I want to try a set but I am really light sensitive and worry they won't be dark enough. I can't find anywhere locally to look through them in person.
  15. I switched from a padded VTAC to a non-padded for the same reason. The pad just takes up too much for the adjustment. I want to try the magpul sling that allows you to go from two point to one point but I haven't gotten around to that yet.
  16. Good sights, "-" connecter and a .25 cent trigger job. I just ordered a pair of Trijicon HD's to try out, but pick whatever sight you like looking at and practice a lot!
  17. Excellent shooting on her part! I wish I could get my wife to come to the range with me, maybe a similarly set up .22 would do the trick? Now you better step up your dry fire and practice game or you will never hear the end of it.
  18. From a pure mechanical accuracy standpoint the short barreled guns will surprise you. I have seen several reports using a ransom rest that indicate the Glock 26 is the most accurate of the 9mm models. One of my buddies has the same Ruger and he shoots it very well.
  19. When I started reloading on a single stage I used the Lee deluxe 4 die kit. When the 650 came in I just threw those dies in the press and they work just fine for me.
  20. How exactly do you clear the press once it is "locked out"? and start loading again?
  21. I tried the drill again tonight and I managed to move from 36 to 42, and I realized half way through that I had forgotten to tape off my glasses which caused one of the drops. Only managed 2 hits on SHO and 1 hit WHO, if you have any tips on how to hold the gun steady one handed I am all ears.
  22. Man that sucks! Beautiful rifle. Remember that guns can always be replaced.
  23. How many of you using a 650 have had a squib before? I had read that progressive presses are more inclined to do this, but I thought that visually inspecting the cartridge would be sufficient.
  24. Thank you all for the perspective and encouragement. Although I grew up on a farm shooting .22's all the time I didn't shoot a handgun until high school, and didn't seriously get into it until 25 or so. I took a class with Bob Vogel a couple of years ago which was very helpful. I learned that although I have some speed my accuracy is definitely lacking. I am now averaging 250 rounds a week but it is mainly working on movement, reloads, etc. at steel targets (all the fun stuff) and I need to get back to basics and actually be able to hit what I aim at.
