  1. Hahaha! I just show up with 2 mags per stage and a few extras. All pre-loaded, 'natch!
  2. I'm pretty sure I'm already persona non-talk-to because of my bad influence
  3. With how well you run a GLOCK just carry the GLOCK and shoot the S2. Problem solved. I've just never been a fan of the decocker models. With the size of your hands and how you grip the Shadows, I genuinely don't know a way to mentally separate a S2 in competition vs a P01 for carry. You're just going to grip it how you grip things. I certainly never could switch at least.
  4. In every case I've encountered the answer is a resounding, no, MBX mags are NEVER worth it. CZ magazines, like GLOCK-brand-GLOCK mags, are extremely reliable, plentiful and inexpensive. You may consider running a mag brush through the tubes and wiping off followers every now and then. Depending on your range conditions, dirt, dust, carbon, grime, hair, toenail clippings and other nasties may from time to time accumulate and need to be removed from mag bodies.
  5. Signature on and off targets beyond 400 yards in 3 gun for me. 70's and 77's provide the RO's (of varying spotting skill levels) more feedback by moving the target more on impact. I also see more plate swing on hanging targets if I'm left or right on plate and I can correct to center. In the rare instance I miss () I have a better chance spotting the increased feedback a heavier bullet offers in adverse conditions (e.g. splash in recently wet ground). Feedback is the same reason I run ~105 gr bullets as a minimum in PRS matches beyond 800 yards. Even the long for caliber 22's at 90 gr give up some feedback on plate and you'll donate an impact or 2 to spotters missing hits on large steel. 55's will and do absolutely work.
  6. We were pretty proud of the trophies for A4 SCSA back in the day. Every division plus a SASP youth sponsored team trophy. Belt buckles are for our big PRS matches.
  7. You think people get excited about those cheap trophies, wait until you put a nice trophy out! I've seen figure skaters be more cordial to their competition for a belt buckle
  8. The S2 Kadet is not worth dealing with because the slide reciprocates. The original 75 series Kadet has a fixed portion of the slide for the sight and you can at least use a dovetail mount for red dots. Depending on dot you may end up being zeroed a bit high, but it worked well enough for me to shoot fast.
  9. Keep watching where they explain what the lock piece is doing.
  10. Yes. It's very straightforward since there's no gas system. Pull the handguard, barrel nut and swap the barrel.

    Shadow 2 in LO

I have and will continue to speak from experience.

Bad reloads are not a reason to have a feature on a competition pistol.
  13. I've had pretty good results with most every flavor of Syntech at this point. It makes power factor, it's soft, it's clean and it knocks down steel really well. Not sure what poppers @pjb45 was hitting but any well made design I've hit at matches has gone down, regardless of whether I hit in the calibration zone or significantly lower. One thing to keep in mind is some pistols, Czech and Italian in particular, are notorious for being short throated and have historically not played well with standard to long OAL factory ammo or reloads. Additionally, some pistols just don't like heavier for caliber (e.g. 150 gr 9mm) loads. It's OK if your rig doesn't like a particular ammo. It happens all the time. This is probably the most underrated application for Syntech, especially the 150's. It's absolutely amazing for bringing new or recoil averse folks to the range for the first time. Not only is it soft, but it's subsonic so there's less concussion to deal with. And it's hilariously quiet suppressed.

The standard S2 OR is what I would go with but I disagree with the second strike being a factor. Proper knowledge of the fire control system and appropriate hammer spring, firing pin and firing pin spring selection for the intended primer would be a more useful discussion. I do agree on ignoring the SAO model. It's a 1 trick pony IMO. The regular S2 Optic model works extremely well in Production, Carry Optics and Limited Optics when configured with the appropriate sight and start position for the division. Yes you can run a S2 in LO. You do not have to use the DA pull. I started the entire Nationals match in SA with the safety on. That really helped on all those pesky long shots at the start of stages
  15. Our squad was guessing that roughly 80% of the LO entries at Nats were CO guys that either ran a straight CO setup or slapped a magwell on their CO setup. 100% get the grips that give you the option to run a magwell. The S2 is a fantastic LO setup IMO.
  16. My first build had a JP barrel. I went with their full operating system (bolt, barrel, lower, SCS buffer) and haven't seen the need to get anything other than JP since! Hard to say how many folks have been happy with their own JP's since I started sharing that original build sheet or the subsequent ones but I'd wager it's well over a hundred by now.
  17. Parts availability has been rough as well. If you want something made overseas, forget about it. CZ rep said any machine in the main factory is making Bren parts.
  18. @ZackJones I genuinely hope Carry Optics+ or Open Lite is not something that gets brought up with the BOD. Rather, I would love to see efforts put into standalone SCSA RO Cert programs, youth involvement efforts and a plan to run 2 x 8 stages at WSSC to really drive growth of the sport.
  19. Look, LO in SCSA is one of the worst proposals I've seen in a long time. How about we just focus on more important things?
  20. Things like this are the reason I continue to recommend Dillon. I ordered my presses through Brian and now in 2023 they're still taking care of every 650 issue I have.
  21. I for one had a fantastic time at formerly iron sight Nationals. For everyone complaining that PCC would change stage designs, it turns out Carry Optics + magwell was what actually changed Nationals stages. Yes, FIS Nats was harder than PCC/Open. This was a fantastically fun match for 19 out of 21 stages. The Bill drill should have remained a side stage and the cop qual range stage wasted 300+ peoples time and ammo.
  22. Barrel: JP Supermatch™ air-gauged, button-rifled, cryogenically treated barrel w/ fluted chamber Totally normal. Enjoy the new rifle!
  23. Depends on which stock you run, whether it has an adjustable cheek piece, your face shape, neck flexibility / brokenosity, and body shape. It's more important to set something up to be comfortable for you rather than go with the crowd. We have a father / daughter duo locally that do not like running the same height dot on their PCC. I run UH-1's so, whatever those end up being in height.
  24. Can't say I've ever seen that. I'm not loading for 3 but I have loaded a fair few rounds on a 650. Just double checking the obvious questions, are you sure you have the right station 1 locator in? Maybe photos of the plates and affected areas of the plates would help? I'd call Dillon to ask what could cause what you're seeing. They have been incredible helping me troubleshoot other issues.
  25. Super easy. There's a couple good YouTube videos on the process if you like following visual rather than written instruction.
