  1. More swage for sure. I do see deflection of the shell plate at the swaging station. But for my mil 9mm brass to prime properly that's what it takes me. And I still get 1 or 2 per 100 mill brass that the primer gets messed up. Slowing my pull rate down a little helped as well. It's for this reason, the priming difficulties, that I hate mill brass. I can get it for free and still choose not to use it.
  2. So I am going to MA for the S&W indoor IDPA nationals. The mags I want to bring are standard capacity, whereas MA requires 10 rounders and the seem pretty serious about it. If I want to block my stock 18 round 9mm mags to a temporary 10 rounds for this trip, how would you suggest doing it and staying within IDPA rules. Thank you.
  3. I'm trying to find another March major that's a little closer to CA..... How many more spots are still open? Edit-never mind, sold out. =(
  4. Any idea when we'll see stage descriptions and shooters list? It was over 80F today, so I'll do my part to bring it with me. Top 5 prize table raffle spot right? hahahaha
  5. I often pick something published half way between the loads for lead and jacketed as my baseline for xtreme plated bullets.
  6. i have shot both the 75b and the sp01, shadow and non shadow version. they are very accurate guns and i like them.
  7. 13# ismi spring on a ss jaeger rod.
  8. I love wearing a gopro when I compete. i wear it on a head strap, like you see me doing below. I also have worn it on my ear pro as well, using an adhesive mount and the J arm. I have been able to make some corrective action based off the footage. I use it to explain shooting competitions to people. I use it to show sponsors what I can do. I use it to show me what I did rather than rely on my memory. I also use it all the time surfing, motorcycling, mnt biking or whatever. I enjoy having a gopro. If I were you and you're gonna use it a lot at least get the silver edition.
  9. glock 34. 147 grain plated round nose, 1.140 oal. 3.2 titegroup. 130pf all day long.
  10. i've moved mine much further forward now. this is one time being skinny helps. sadly not a single belt loop hoster i've tried holds the gun close enough to pass the dowel test. and no way in heck am i using an iwb holster!
  11. CZ85Combat, so the trick is to do it just enough it drops with a mag slammed in, but not soo much it wont lock back on an empy mag. good thing slide stops are cheap if i screw it up.
  12. I took my slide off, re-inserted the slide stop lever. I inserted a mag with like 4 rounds of my ammo. My bullets don't come anywhere near the little tab that people talk about grinding the corner off. (147 grn, round nose, 1.140 oal) So if I understand it, what some people were doing was taking the edge off that little "ear" and using the insertion of a new mag to put pressure on it in a new way, releasing the slide when the mag fully seats. Which for me wouldn't seem to work as my rounds aren't touching it in the first place. Of course, I could be totally miss understanding the process. So I do look forward for your help.
  13. So if I want/desire the auto close from slide lock when inserting a new full mag, what do I need to do? I kinda got lost in the different threads and pictures.
  14. Resurrection of the Thread. So I have a 75B and I can't hit the slide release with my dominant (right) hand's thumb without really altering my grip. So I've tried to learn the 1911 style of using my left hand's thumb to drop the slide after a mag change. But I find I can not reliably apply enough pressure, at speed, to get the slide release working. I'm tired of collecting 3 seconds for leaving cover in IDPA with my gun still at slide lock and the mag seated. Is there a way to reduce the amount of effort required on the slide stop release lever working?
  15. first match august 2012. sig 2022 in 9mm. ssp. serpa holster and cloth mag pouches. bought a glock 34 just 3 weeks later. now it is: ssp: glock 34 esp: cz 75b SAO, glock 34 cdp: glock 21sf, sig 220
  16. 80% of my idpa shooting is with the same glock 34 in ssp. 15% of the time is with various guns in cdp. 5% of the time in esp, normally with my g34 ssp gun. this will change. now that i match bumped to expert in two divisions i bought a purpose built esp gun and will run that exclusively in idpa for the next 6 months or until i match bump to expert in that class too. then i will analyze what i want oout of my performance and pick one of the three to make a run at master, by match bump, with. uspsa will continue to be my g34 in production.
  17. i run half corn cob/half walnut with 3 caps of dillon polish. i tried dryer sheets and they didnt work. a few cut up strips of a microfiber towel did pretty well though. i run my brass till shiny, anywhere from 3 to 6 hours then it goes straight into the ready-to-load pile.
  18. S&W Indoor Nationals Arizona State The Masters Rackensack Classic Carolina Cup The Nationals I also just saw stuff for an IDPA club in Pakistan. I'd go shoot one of their matches too. Or Venezuala if given a ticket.
  19. I was on a medication for years that surpressed my pituitary gland so the hormone to tell my nuts to make testosterone wasn't happening. When I finally got a test from my GP, the result was 90ng/dl. We retested and it was 99ng/dl. So he gives me a consult with an endocrinologist and i start on Androgel. We monitor my levels and adjust my dose over a year. After the year has passed of me not on the offending medication I taper off and we retest. t1 and t2, free and bound. Normal result, 525ng/dl. No more Androgel needed. Back to 'normal'. While on a legitimate trt, under the care of a physician, this is what i experienced -increase in muscle mass -decrease in belly fat -increased acne on back -increased sex drive -reduced aerobic capacity -improved memory and cognitive ability so i gained muscle, lost fat, had better errections but i couldn't run or bike the same and had breakouts on my back. but i did overall feel better and it was the right thing to do. i did not have any blood, prostate or gonadal issues. I was 39 at the time.
  20. Capricious rule changes are annoying. But so is whining. There are dumb things in both sports. And in sports there are rules and in each and everyone you will find people who don't like them. And I've competed in sports with far more arbitrary rules.... I find the best course is to just shoot. I'm there to win and that's all the matters. I go to matches to show what I practice away from the matches proves I can shoot better than anyone else there that day. USPSA or IDPA rules.
  21. I've shot both blue and black box AA ammo for the first year of my competitive shooting career. The match ammo had a single digit standard deviation about half of what the blue box stuff did. (9mm 146gr round nose) The match ammo being about 7 and the blue box 14 standard deviation. I really resisted reloading until I did the math. Then it became worth my time! (My math said my used Dillon 1050 would be paid off after 7k rounds) AA is really worth it if you send them enough brass that you've scrounged for free to offset the cost. Back when I was a steady customer of theirs buying about 2k rounds a month I was also getting about 100$ in credit from my brass. If you're gonna buy AA for competition I would just get the blue box, but that is just me. Especially since every big match I've shot has been a lost brass match.
  22. Well I have a 75B converted to SAO coming and plan on shooting 147 gr xtreme round nose, 3.1 titegroup with an overall length of 1.150 which seems a much longer oal that everyone else is posting..... Should I expect issues? This round works awesome in my tuned G34, but do you think i need to go shorter for reliable function in the CZ75B?

    SIRT pistol

Nope, I was able to change rear sights almost just with hand pressure. I have the plastic slide model.
  24. In CDP I have shot a Glock 21sf, Les Baer Thunder Ranch and Premier II, and a Sig P220. That is also in my order or competiveness with each gun as well.
