  1. Very interesting.....learn something new every day......Thanks!
  2. DAVE Dawson mentioned that cleaners / solvents have a dramatic negative effect on the rods.......and I believe him..I replace as neeed....or after I hit the shooting port with my front sight....lol..
  3. Update.....the Harbor Freight mesh mats are excellent. Walked on constantly and holding up,very well. Will still need to spike 4 corners in heavy wind , but usually does fine.......best investment yet, getting an extra in case they stop being available!!
  4. I received 4 STI 9 mm 140 mags. Ran a couple of loads through each....promptly returned to STI. Mags would not drop out of Atlas frame . Strangely enough my Maglula loader would not work . It hangs up on every rounds. Rounds were flipping inside of 2 mags. STI promptly returned " New " mags......same problems......Good Lord....what was I thinking. going to replace the guts and try to file down the inside of the loader. I tried 2 loaders same problem. Thank goodness these are practice mags! I have multiple MBX mags...never a problem.......should have learned.....Just my experiences folks. And I have a bag of 10 old style STI mags if anyone can really tune them?...Tarin guts I installed??
  5. It locked the press up because of the internal step in the brass....how did you die get past the step to,deprime the case??? I agree...but this Maxxtech crap is a whole different animal.......
  6. Am I misssing something here.....he's loading .38 super projectiles in 9 mm and wondering about a bulge? I received some mixed in with 9 mm 147 and it was a disaster..........
  7. Rebuilding 5 of the " new " STI 9 mm 140 mags . Gram or MBX srpings and followers???....very , very happy with my MBX mags !!....can I expect similar results by using theses internals in my STI's or use Grams. Kicking myself for not getting more MBX mags instead of STI. I know better....very disappointed .......... Thanks in advance
  8. It locked the press up because of the internal step in the brass....how did you die get past the step to,deprime the case???
  9. My 650 encountered the first Maxxtech crap round. Sure enough stepped big time. Locked the press up. I'll be putting this in the Crap pile with, FM, Hotshot, CBC and other trash....... Back to sorting this large batch by headstamp.......frustrating.......
  10. My buddy picked up several of the mesh mats from Harbor Freight. Darn near perfect for our use. I think they are 10x12 , light weight, and seem to stay down ..in heavy wind we will spike the corners. Thanks for all the replies!!
  11. Strange request....does anyone have experience with a mesh style tarp for catching brass?. Were using the blue poly tarps and even with weights the wind is a PITA....big time. Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated.............
  12. I love the new Senior/Super Senior motto..." Slow is the new fast ".........I get it....mine was always." My mind is writing checks my body can't cash!!!".
  13. Rick...USPSA Limited minor......
  14. Jack...I stand corrected...I should have stated .. maximizes your shooting ability..
  15. Need bullet opinions.....I've been loading 9 mm for practice and matches for several years and have tried multiple projectiles. started out with Berries, went to Montana Gold , then thousands of X-tremes ...now into about 12 K 147 RN Blue Bullets. im very happy with the Blue Bullets....save mucho powder, cost effective , and perform as well as I can shoot. Admittly I am not a good shot...but enjoy every minute of my suffering. The question....with all the combined experiences of this group....do Bullets really make that much difference in your ability to shoot to your satisfaction?? ...Not referring to the load but just the projectiles thanks in advance.........
  16. Nice....Adam runs a good business ...have an Atlas in 9 mm.....Saw one of the Chaos at a match....trying hard no to jump in!
  17. If you decide to stay in Limited....call Adam at Atlas Gun Works....problem solved!
  18. Agree with both above....check extractor...replace as needed......try 10lb. Spring......broke 2 extractors on my Edges in 2 weeks....tons of rounds......STI took care of both.....Aftec in my new Titan......really nice....needs to be fitted...try one..
  19. I somewhat understand the " I don't sort anything..clean for 5 minutes and load" syndrome.....but why would anyone load crap brass and shoot a match with it? I have seen the results twice shooting crap at a match and just shook my head. Thoughts?
  20. Very interesting post. I've been using N320 for several years now and am getting good consistent drops for 9 mm. I did install the EGW micro unit on the powder bar as well . Recently installed a MBF on my 650 and was concerned about the new powder funnel as well.....it works fine. Something we are not touching on is effecting Rowdys drop....makes no sense .....but what do I know??
  21. I just passed the 3000 round mark on my new Atlas Titan in 9 mm. I am very sasisfied with the entire process. Adam is a very good businessman and educator, and runs a very customer oriented business. The pistol met every requirement I asked for . This is one HEAVY piece of steel. The grip takes a little getting used to....sticks like glue. My tuned MBX mags I ordered have performed flawlessly. Will re evaluate at 5K ......waiting for the new STI modified mags........Adam...hurry up ...lol.
  22. I tried the STI insert on my new Atlas Titan. It just didn't feel right. Called Double Alpha and they told me that I needed the P-T insert......replacemit on my Alpha -x yesterday...problem solved. My Bad.....Thanks to the nice folks at DA.
  23. My 6 round EGW defiantly tighter than my 9 mm Hondo 100 gauge.........
  24. If you order the Alpha -X holster make sure you get the Phoenix - Trinity magnetic insert......ooops ...
