  1. Was at the range discussing loads with another shooter and we were on the subject of powder. He suggested I try Vih. N310 to replace my 320 ? Swore it shot cleaner , smoother .........any experiences......I've got a load of 320 to go through but always learning....or trying to ! Thanks
  2. After a ton of 9 mm 147 Xtreme HP.....I tried Blue Bullet 147 RN......could not be happier.....powder consumption dropped 10%, costs dropped 20%..... chronographed very well.....I'm a satisfied customer.
  3. I recently switched from Xtreme 147 HP 9 mm to Blue Bullets 9 mm 147 RN......very, very satisfied.....substantial cost reduction and 20% less powder for minor. I agree with slightly increasing your bell from plated.....make sure the coating is not disturbed when seating .....pull a couple and check after loading.....
  4. Received the Competition lifter from Brownells.....same one already on the Competition model....I guess I've got an extra now....live and learn........
  5. I guess I'm the first one trying this lifter???
  6. Any one have experience with the new Competition lifter they are offering for the Versa Max Competition shotgun. No picture available ??...Thanks
  7. Any experiences with a bracket on a Versa Max Cmpetition with the 2 shot extension added?? Ive heard the thread system is weak and prone to breakage with rough handeling. if so...can anyone recommend a bracket system using the factory tube extension?? thanks in advance!
  8. Kinda beating a dead horse.........Tested some more loads of BB 147 RN with N320 this weekend. I'm impressed with the results. Down to 3.3. Grns of N320 ....1.145 COL..147 BB RN, CCI primers and once fired Federal brass. I kept retesting the load ...I was consistantly above 905 on every group. Will try 3.2 next batch...but that's cuttin Minor close. Considerable reduction in charges for me. So here's the question. What physical principal makes BB easier to propel than the same weight MG or Xtreme I've tried in the past???......I ain't no physicist so splain it to me !!!!!
  9. Any experiences or recommendations on an oversize ambi safety for my 9 mm edge?.......thanks .
  10. AzShooter........what are the specs on your loads with N320... I'm experimenting now....thanks
  11. Excellent.....best of luck at the match!!!!
  12. Pick up extras.............processed a batch of 9 mm and got some real crap brass in the group...broke 2 pins...a first and hopefully the last......
  13. Rudy reverse bi focals solved my problem...near correction on top ..distance for the balance of the lense ...see the front sight is a good thing !
  14. Let me know how you made out....match in 2 weeks...taking the same load......how,was recoil???? Thanks!
  15. When achieving proper grip on your 2011 ...is your thumb riding the top of the safety????.....thanks....
  16. No experience with his pistols...YET......but his instructional videos on Youboob are outstanding ......professional , informative and great topics......I love 'em....take a look............
  17. I never took into account the actual variation each piece of brass could hold. ......another thing to take into account....would explain the .01 possible variations......thanks ......
  18. The tests on these 147 BB are interesting......I've gone from 3.7 grns. on a MG 147 to 3.4 on 147 BB at 1.150 to make minor. Im loading a batch a 3.3 grns. to see if I can still make min with the 147 BB using Vih N320...1.15 COL......once fired Winchester brass and CCI Sm. pistol.......... still trying to figure advantages/ disadvantages from round vs flat nose.....thoughts??
  19. The pins walked out of both my 9 mm Edges. STI wanted me to send the whole slide in for R&R....really?? did a fairly good job of peening the edge of the sights on the first one...the other one I knocked the hell out of the sight with hammer and small chisel.......I was at a class and had no choice. The metal on the rear sight is damn thought stuff. So why don't they simply pean the sights at the factory ?????......this is ridiculous !!!
  20. Experimenting with BB 147 for my STI Edge.....any impressions of Round Nose vs Flat Nose???......my initial testing is not showing any discernible difference......maybe accuracy thoughts?......Thanks !
  21. The BB flat nose 147 were coming in at +- 146......Round nose +- 149........ Thanks .....never weighed them prior to testing ...my bad .......
  22. Rob...tested more 147 Montana Gold with N320 last Friday .......looks like 3.7 at 1.150 COL is my safety zone: 9MM STI Edge : 147 MG with 3.7 grns N320 1.15 COL Averages: 901 , 901, 898 147 MG with 3.7 grns N320 at 1.140 COL 903 , 904 , 907 Either load seems ok.....I have noticed a reduction in black on the casings and pistol seems a little cleaner...... If your interested I also did some tests on Blue Bullet 147 round and flat nose 147 RN BB with 3.5 grns of N320 at 1.150 COL averages 943 , 945 , 942 3.5 grns N 320 at 1.140 COL averages 939 , 927 , 936 3.4 grns N320 at 1.140 averages 922 , 924, 913 all above round nose.........pretty interesting with the reduced charges......am testing some more this weekend. i can see converting to all 147 BB round nose....considerable cost reduction !!!!!!!!! hope this makes some sense and you can give your Edge some testing .............
  23. Brett....I tested some BB 147 round nose and flat nose 9 mm Saturday in my 2011 147 BB 3.5 grns Vih N320 1.150 COL round nose Averages: 943 935 934 3.5 grns N320 147 BB 1.140 COL flat nose Averages: 941 929 936 3.4 grns N320 1.14 COL round nose Averages : 922 910 923 I've been running 147 Montana Gold with 3.7 grns N320 at 1.15 to ensure 900 + for power factor.....I'm really impressed with these BB stats....more tests this weekend........hope these make some sense!!!!
  24. Thanks to all........good tip about the case in the plate when adjusting. Sounds like I'm making to much of an issue about the charge deviation.....the chronograph will tell the tale this weekend !!
  25. I'm in the same boat.....I'm on my second pair of Rudy prescription glasses. They are reverse bifocals. They are a trade off.....hard to use with a rifle.....but works great with my 2011.... Front sight crystal clear.....old eyes SUCK !!! Good Luck.....
