Is it the arm of the powder drum that is hitting when fully installed or are you not able to screw the entire measure in/install tool head with it in place? Are you able to reclock the powder measure by loosening the lock ring and positioning it so it faces another direction? I've only used this powder measure setup on my Hornady press with the 1/8th bushings so please forgive me if this is not the case of the Dillon. I have to orient it so the space is clear for the drum arm to make a full rotation.

Love my lee undersize and FCD dies! I won't touch their presses after breaking their cheap C single stage trying to swag on it with the RCBS kit. I was sad when I had to ditch my 9mm FCD after adding a bullet feeder and deciding to keep my powder lockout die. I now use a seat/crimp combo in my last station. One day I'll justify upgrading my press because of this.

Glad to hear. I've had good luck with the squirrel daddy hardened decap pins. I bought a 3 pack in 2018. One in the universe Lee, and the other two in undersize pistol dies. They make short work of crimped primers and undersized flash holes (Norma 9mm, IK# .223, etc). They also won't break on the berdan primed brass like the lee factory ones do if you are overzealous with your press.

I'm on the fence with the CMMG setup for my GF's future PCC. I had dreams of chopping a 16" down to 10.5", then pinning a Brekke extended 6" brake to make Maxamundi RDB clone upper with the carbon fiber handguard. While researching, I read this Arfcom thread. I learned about the extractor issue and the updated 9mm bolt with the 50 etched on it. It looks like they changed the angles of the lugs and also the spring to one with over twice as many coils. I've also read some have replaced the extractor with a JP and the spring with a BCM with good results. We aren't sure if we want to spend JP money. Unfortunately she lives in a ban state and can't ordered a JP5. We can piece together a GMR15 or just buy a regular Brekke upper. Decisions, decisions...

No worries mate, happy to help. Those plated bullets should be fine. Just be sure not to shave them with poor case expansion or over crimp them. Work up the charge as they move more like lead then FMJs. Try them out before buying a ton and see how they group. Good luck on the load development!

I just got into loading 6.5cm in the last year, along with .308 and .223 for the last 5 years or so. Loading pistol for 10+. I've been making hard decisions lately I know I will regret with the way things are trending. I was stocking up on a years worth of HS-6 for the open gun on Jan 5th (36 days ago) and couldn't pull the trigger on two 8lb jugs of H4350 on the same order at $350 each. Well it went out of stock at midsouth and came back at $390.. Doh. I guess I should be happy (not really) since the Hs-6 was $266 and it's now $304. I don't see this changing any time soon.

A few things I'm not sure you know: You can polish a few parts to help smooth it out. This pinned kneelingatlas post is a must read. I used to have this CGW SAO trigger installed on a SA conversion, which allows you to set pre and post travel with set screws. You can always call CGW to talk to David for his solid advice on his parts.

This looks interesting. I don't think I'd use it for competition guns over a Romeo3 or RTS2. I have two 407k ACSS, which uses a smaller compact footprint. The smaller housing fits nice on a thin CZ SP-01 and another on a P-01. I choose that optic for more defensive purposes and have been satisfied. I tried the 507c ACSS (RMR footprint) on my open gun but ditched it due to the chevron reticle. My profile pic shows that optic. I now use a Romeo 3 Max which is 30mm wide. The Romeo3 XL is 35mm wide. This PA offering is 26x20mm according to the manual.

I worked up a +P load using WSF for 124gr Speer gold dots with good results. Velocity average was 1175 FPS using a full size CZ. Accuracy was excellent. I chose WSF because I was under the impression this load was close to 100% burn rate and would have less muzzle flash. I'm sorry I don't have the powder weight charge I used but I would work up with a chrono in your case. Check out Gordon's free reloading tool if you haven't before. It's pretty great at projecting potential loadings, including projected velocities, pressure and burn rates. Here's a quick video about it.

I like loading them for subsonic loads to shoot suppressed out of a pcc.

I'm not sure as I've been the range twice with it and have only used the tripod so far. It might be mounted too far back in that picture. The instructions say 5-15 inches behind the muzzle and that my barrel is 24 inches. I will play around with it soon. Worst case, I will have to move the m- lok to ARCA adapter a few slots forward.

The week I bought it, I read this 40+ page thread on Sniper's Hide and that very question was debated. One user brought up that Garmin's own media people were using the Area419 mount during the unveiling so it can't be all that bad. Time will tell of course. I think the majority of my shooting I will use the tripod, but it's a neat setup for engaging different targets at different angles without repositioning the chrono. I don't think the Gucci mounts are worth it for most. If it did go tits up, I'd hope a huge company like Garmin would make it right.

Good write up! I agree it's a game changer. I was considering lab radar but once I learned about the Garmin I had to have it. I even got lucky and caught it in stock online at Bass Pro shop while they were running a 10% off ship to store deal. I got it shipped to a New Hampshire Bass Pro so there was no sales tax. And to top it off I bought a bunch of gift cards at discount to use. $503 all in! I got to pick it up after I shot a PCSL match at Sig Sauer the weekend after Thanksgiving. I got super lucky. I ended up buying a cheap ARCA to camera mount off Amazon so I could mount it directly to a couple of my rifles. Works great on the tripod too. I've already been a bad influence to a few of my friends that have also picked it up after seeing it in action.

I agree, but I think it's more firearm dependent. Mags for 2011s, 1911, CZs, in my humble opinion, need to be cleaned out whenever they come in contact with dirt, dust, sand, mud, etc. If your range is nice grass or larger stone you could get away with it if it doesn't feel gritty when loading it back up. For striker fired, I couldn't be bothered to clean those mags in any condition. MBX's are my go to 2011 mags but I haven't bought any for CZs. The Mec-gars are great. I've used Taran, CZC, Taylor Freelance and Team AC pads with them with mostly Gram's springs and followers. I'm still testing the Team AC kits as well as the Rune Tactical kits as I don't trust them yet. Most of the time having 24 in the mag doesn't make a difference so I end up using a mag with Gram's kit.

I don't use buffers in my CZ's but I did some searching so hopefully this information is helpful. It looks like the only places I can find in the US that sell the CZ OEM buffer set is the CZ USA web store and Ben Stoeger shop and as you stated they are both out of stock. Excited to shoot this match once again! It has been a awesome experience, run by a great crew, for a great cause. The only thing to fix is the weather when I shoot!.. lol. I was there 3 year ago and last year and had torrential rain both times. The staff remained positive and a good time was still had by those that toughed it out. My GF and I shot it last year for the first time while on vacation. We were debating the Open vs the Florida State and we chose wrong. It was pricey but we had heard good things. Unfortunately, as Waktasz said, that was during the Shannon Smith era and was no longer the case. It was advertised as a level two match but they bumped it to a level one. Excerpts from my GF's FB post: $220 for a “major match” at Universal Shooting Academy that was supposed to be split squads Saturday AM/Sunday PM or Saturday PM/Sunday AM. A week before the match, squads were consolidated into Saturday/Sunday (with no times listed) and no notice given. 48 hours before the match, everyone was switched again to Saturday only with a “start time” of 7:30 and a statement that there would be no match book. My emails regarding whether 7:30 was registration or first shots went completely unanswered. Thank heavens we knew some staff to ask or we would have been completely in the dark. 12:53 pm on Friday, another email was received stating “Registration is today from 13h00 to 17h00”…nothing like 7 min notice about registration. I reply almost immediately that we won’t be making it to registration since we are hours away. The only reply is “yes” to a question I never asked. We arrived at 6:45 am to find that registration is meaningless. There is no swag bag, no tshirt, nothing. Starting at 7:45 and going through 11:45, we shot 9 of the 10 stages. None of which had movers or swingers or anything remotely technical. As we began to prep for our 10th and final stage, they called a hard stop for ONE HOUR for lunch. They didn’t serve lunch to shooters…only staff. That last stage, including the hard stop for no lunch, was 1 hour 45 min.

In my very limited experience, every build with a CGW hammer (with their adjustable sear and also with fitting the factory sear or safety to engage the safety with the hammer back) allows the safety to go up with the hammer down. I know you're not supposed to pull the trigger if this is the case. The reason I mention it is because I've engaged the safety without doing it on purpose. Such as drawing and transitioning to my weak hand for the first shot or just messing up with the strong hand draw. I understand this is a training issue and not necessarily a gun issue. David of CGW has mentioned on the CZ forums that this is just unavoidable with his parts. On the other hand, I have two builds with CZC hammers that do not allow the safety to go up with a hammer down. I don't believe every build is like this as I also have one SPO1 with a CZC hammer that does let the safety go up with the hammer down. I'm not sure how to consistently achieve this, I just know it's possible. Both shops do excellent work, and I've been very happy with my CGW builds.

I like to tune up all my CZs. My competition safety models all have the CZC Comp hammer and the CZ-UB Pre-B drop in disconnector. Those parts, with the good polish job, will get you a real nice trigger. You can replace the firing pin with an extended one, add a Rami or CGW reduced weight firing pin spring and reduced weight trigger return spring to allow you to use a lower hammer spring weight to significantly reduce the double action trigger pull weight. I use the 8.5 lb CGW hammer spring with federal primers and have 100% ignition on my two CO shadows. Double action trigger pull is sub 5 lbs. I bump The Hammer spring up to 11.5lbs for other ammo. It adds about a pound to the double action trigger pull. I've tuned guns that could not use the 8.5 lb spring reliably so your results may vary. The reason I prefer the CZC hammer is because I don't like how the CGW hammer allows the safety to go up with the hammer down. My carry guns, which are decocker models, all have the CGW Pro Kit. It's a pretty sweet setup.

I started using Pro Grip a few years ago especially where my hands overlap, grip of left fingers and outside of right. I use it everywhere if it's hot out or humid. I bought primo chalk when I started grip training and am using the gym chalk when dry firing now.
