  1. Sorry, no I missed you asked about 38SC. I use mine for 9mm. Looking at the DAA page for the 2 in 1 die, it seems they sell theirs for 9mm/.38/.357 so I would assume the Hornady could work, but I can't say for sure as the crimp type might be incorrect. Would the Lee die 4n2t0 linked be what you need? https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/102601
  2. I've used the Hornady one for years. It's tricky to setup but has worked fine once dialed in. https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/00005044177/9mm-taper-crimp-seater-die--9mm-luger-and-9x21 https://www.grafs.com/catalog/product/productId/71380
  3. Red Hill Tactical makes very nice double kydex holsters. Any inner / outer velcro competition belt will work. A lot of guys are moving towards an outer belt with a ratchet system so they can cinch it down for a stage and then loosen it slightly for the rest of the match. Double alpha Academy, Ghost, CR speed all make nice pouches. Shooters connection, speed shooters international and Ben stoeger's pro shop are the sites I frequent the most for competition gear.
  4. It's the Leap/04. You can find them used for $90 to $100. I almost have my new PCC together and I'm going with this setup too. I can't decide between the 1.57" or the 1.93" height so I picked up both to try. My old setup had the 510C but I'm trying to shave some weight so I gave it to the GF.
  5. Thanks, I had forgotten they used the P10 mags with the normal grips.
  6. It might be worth asking CZCustom if their A01 magazine release works in the factory frames as this is is currently in stock: https://czcustom.com/a01-ext-mag-release-body-only.html @eerw Stuart would you please enlighten me? Otherwise sign up for in stock notifications. They come in waves sporadically from CZUB.
  7. The issue is the different widths of the mags. I have setup DAA pouches for Colt mags and they fit with the 2011 inserts. The pouches have a leaf spring for tension, but CZ mags would wobble side to side so I would swap out the inserts to the CZ specific inserts as needed per match. I wouldn't do it at the range between stages. Have you considered a open magnet style pouch? Although, the shape of the feed lips of the mags might be too different to work consistently. https://www.doublealpha.biz/us/daa-deluxe-magnetic-pouch
  8. Thanks for the info! I just picked up a few pounds of n310 to play around with. My research reflected n320 a little too slow for the 100gr bullets and accuracy might suffer with low PF loads
  9. You asked the same question here and got a few responses: https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/311073-sig-romeo-3-max-vs-c-more-slide-ride/
  10. A single action conversion is relatively simple, as long as you can detail strip the frame to the point to remove the trigger. I like this Cajun gun works SAO trigger, as it has pre and post travel set screws to eliminate any creep and over travel as much as possible. All you have to do is remove the disconnector and your gun will be single action only. I also recommend CGW's floating trigger pin, it makes reinstalling a trigger so much easier than the stock roll pin. Depending on your budget, I would consider replacing the hammer while you're in there. Don't forget to set up your other CZ the same way, welcome to the rabbit hole!
  11. Yeah me too! Having to hand sort 45 ACP for large and small is a pain, but that's another subject to complain about. I found this article on the subject. Here's the gist:
  12. I've found the NT (non-toxic) loadings all seem to have tight primer pockets across multiple brands. I usually ditch them to the recycling bucket. .40 non NT cases should all be without a crimp.
  13. Howdy. Replacing the fiber optic is very simple. The only tools needed are a razor blade and a lighter. Your CZ fiber optic size is 1mm. Try out green and orange to see if you like either better. Cut out the old fiber optic. Use the lighter to burn one side of the new fiber optic and put it through the sight. Try to match how the original fiber optic was set up. Cut the excess off but leave a little sticking out, 1/16" or so, and use the lighter to melt the excess it in place. CZ makes a flat left side safety that you would prefer better. As you said, the few US sites that sell the set are out of stock. Sign up for in stock alerts. If you are desperate, you can over pay for a set from Europe here: https://www.ipscstore.com/en/cz-shadow-2-parts/2463-cz-shadow-2-ambidexterous-thin-safety-set.html You might find somebody looking to trade their thins for your wides. You could also have a gunsmith reshape the left side safety or your Dremel goes brrrrr. Good luck!
  14. Welcome to the site! Also the magnets are used as a quick way to retain magazines if a stage in competition requires all magazines on a table during the start position. Depending on the course of fire, and the division a shooter is in (8 or 10 round limit), one might have to grab as many as three extra magazines to complete a 32 round course of fire.
  15. Both are great optics and you would probably be happier with either. I think weight and reticle are the determining factors between the two. The EOTech is definitely more of a duty optic, with government contracts and the price reflects that. The EOTech will most likely have the 68 MOA circle with a one MOA dot in the center, while the Romeo will just have a dot, 3 or 6 MOA. If you're willing to slum it with a Holosun optic (and not look as cool..lol), you would have more flexibility. The 510C is very popular on PCCs. It's very comparable to an EOTech size wise, without being as robust. It has a few different reticle options, 2 MOA dot, 65 MOA circle, and both at the same time. I'm about to try a 507 comp on my new PCC upper. The window is about .2" slimmer in the width than the 510C, but the setup is going weigh half as much. The 507 comp has eight different reticles you can choose from. From Holosun "2MOA dot, an 8MOA circle, 20MOA circle, and 32MOA circle with multiple combination settings." If you shop around, you could probably buy a 510C and a 507 comp for the price of one of the optics you are interested in.
  16. True, that's a good point. Traditional magazine/base pad setups usually makes contact with the frame to not over insert on a reload. Extended magazines, especially in use with a magwell, usually don't stop on the frame/magwell when reloading. If the slide is locked back, one is able to sometimes over insert the magazine on a vigorous reload causing problems sending the slide home. It could also cause unnecessary wear on the catch cut out of a magazine.
  17. A few follower makers will have competition followers designed to not lock back and maximize capacity, MBX, Atlas, and others. Those two both sell lockback followers for those that want that feature. I've trimmed Grams followers to have them not lock back. My limited 2011 has a modified slide stop to not lock back on an empty mag because a normal one will sometimes lock back with a round still in the mag.
  18. I usually do the same thing with my CZs in carry optics (141.25mm max length). I have a few different mag setups. I've started 23 + 1 for years without issue, making sure to tug on the bottom of the mag during the make ready to make sure it's truly seated. The mags on the belt are loaded to 22 for easier insertion. I've experimented with some newer base pad and follower kit setups that allow 24 in the mag. Some are reloadable on a closed side others are absolutely not. Most scenarios it's not worth the risk of a bad reload and a mag hitting the ground when you present at a target.
  19. GG, they don't do practiscore. They still require paper entry forms mailed in with checks. Me and 4 people sent one packet to make sure we all get squadded together and when we want to shoot each session. Jeff L is amazing at running it though. He sends email confirmations after receiving registration. His team is also very quick at the match to add up the scores and leader boards. You can check the print out leader boards shortly after each session. As MikeyScuba wrote their website is https://psashootout.com/index.shtml She laughed at the idea! I think the ammo shortage caused people to think about burning 200+ rounds of center fire for each session. Hopefully with 9mm available and the prices not as crazy we will see more shooters willing to have fun. I believe during the 2020 fall Covid delayed match or 2021, at the shooters meeting they were announcing cases of 9mm for sale at $600 or $700. Concerning the tub, I expressed the same idea of not to worry about brass since we have a crap load of 38 special. She will be loading off the table, so the tupperware might get in her way. We will see what happens!
  20. Yeah the RO's definitely want to keep everybody shooting. 2013 was the first year I did PSA and I remember one or two people picking brass from the tarps and offering it to the shooter after every run. I haven't really seen that the last few years. You really only need 4-5 guys resetting the steel in a squad of up to 17 shooters, which doesn't include the ROs, so that leaves a bunch of people not doing much if they that aren't on deck or reloading. My GF was thinking of bringing a 16x8 Tupperware container to put on the table while shooting to try to dump all her brass into. Lol
  21. Thanks pskys2! That is a very significant crimp, we appreciate the data. She is considering getting her Ruger cut for moon clips eventually by TK. We might mess around with 38 short Colt once we have the clips all setup. We don't want to chase brass while using speed loaders at this point.
  22. Thanks Dr Phil! We will definitely play around with a 9 mm taper crimped die. Especially appreciate the measurement for the crimp. I just had a thought because I have a unused Lee factory crimp die, we might try that before the Dillon to see what happens.
  23. My GF took some pictures of how Wallum Lake, Rhode Island Walls of steel has their sliders setup. I know the ones at PSA have a U-shaped bracket with a notch on the 6 o'clock location, then there's a bolt on the back of the target stand that the bracket sits. When it gets shot it falls off the bolt head.
  24. Okay thank you I will definitely try that out and see how they shoot. . 22 LR would not be enough to knock down most of the plates, Also the match has minimum caliber for each division, which pretty much I believe is 9 mm and 38 special equivalent. Thanks for the pic @MikeyScuba! Definitely more than I would usually do.
  25. Thanks fellas, we will try tapering into the ogive. Do you have a measurement for the crimp diameter? I'm just curious how aggressive you get. I'm used to just setting the crimp to remove the bell, in this case that value would be 0.379 I believe.
