I've tried all three available heights of the leap when setting up an Aimpoint t2 on a different rifle. It's all personal preference on mount height, I personally like the lower 1/3 at 1.57". As @k2pichu mentioned, a lot of fellas like the tall amount as you have a more natural head and neck position. The tall mounts are also popular for people running night vision with devices mounted on their 12:00 handguard they want to look over. Some go as high as 2.2". You just have to know you're offset zero at different distances. A 3-yard target can have a 2-in offset that you will just have to remember. I usually just shoot steel at 12 to 20 yards so my point of aim / point of impact isn't really a big deal. The Holosun 510C comes on a mount that is set up for absolute co-witness, which would be comparable to the lowest mount you would see on an AR. You can get a Holosun riser / spacer plate to bring it up to about 1.60", which is considered lower 1/3 co-witness. This is how mine is currently set up. There might also be third party mounts, but I have no personal experience with those. I think the AEMS is it interesting option. The factory mount is a lower 1/3 co-witness. Holosun has the listed today weight at 3.9 oz. My 510C, with the spacer, weighs in at 8.93 oz. It does have a removable shroud, but I prefer to keep it on while on a long gun.

I have a 507 comp on my PCC now using a Scalarworks Leap/04. It's a very lightweight setup. They currently come in lower 1/3 co-witness height at 1.57" or a higher 1.93". They used to make an lower absolute co-witness, which you can still find on the used market. Any Trijicon RMR AR mount will work for your application. As far as a 45° offset amount for your venom, this arisaka mount, using plate one or plate 7, would work. It's spendy.

I was at a match recently where a shooter lost his 507 comp battery tray and screw in the middle of a steel challenge stage. We found the tray but could not find the little screw. I even took off my belt to use my magnet to sweep the ground but had no luck. I thought it would be nice to have a replacement in the range bag. I emailed holosun, with a picture of the tray removed from my optic and a second picture of the serial number. I asked to purchase the tray and screw and provided my info with the store I bought it from. They ended up sending me one at no charge.

I'm measuring the crimp at .372". We didn't get any tumbling issues on the 42 rounds we fired during ladder testing.

Update time! We finally were able to get to the range to test the ladder loads with 147gr and 160gr blue bullet round nose projectiles. We decided on the 160gr with 4.8grs of CFE-pistol for a somewhat spicy 138.6PF. It grouped the best of the 7 test loads with 4 of the 6 shots in the same hole at 18 yards, and it also had the best standard deviation. OAL was ~ 1.4775" and we used my 9mm Lee FCD just over the ogive. We pulled a couple bullets that were seated and I think they look ok and as I believe we didn't over crimp. This goes against what is expected in rule 8.3.3: "Stand by” This command should be followed by the start signal within 1 to 4 seconds.It is recommended that the start signal be consistent for each string started for a given competitor—a cadence is desirable in Steel Challenge. The interval may change between competitors, however. In my humble opinion, it's almost like they want shooter push it and possibly false start.

Well that's good to hear! How do you determine the cause though, inspection of the housing for impact? What kind of turn around would one expect if it happened to fail while in warranty? I might get a larger MOA dot for steel challenge in the future. I tend to crank up my current 6 moa dot and get the starburst you talk about in your other post.

I run Romeo3 Max's on two slide ride CZs and Frame mounted open gun. I considered your optic until I read this in the warranty: "Due to the fragile nature of the glass, this warranty does not cover the glass against breakage, cracks, scratches etc." I'm sure your optic would be fine on a open mount, but in the last year I have had two of my Sig's glass break on my CZs. A phone call and a few pictures to Sig and they have sent me new ones within a week. I couldn't give up that warranty.

Sorry, no I missed you asked about 38SC. I use mine for 9mm. Looking at the DAA page for the 2 in 1 die, it seems they sell theirs for 9mm/.38/.357 so I would assume the Hornady could work, but I can't say for sure as the crimp type might be incorrect. Red Hill Tactical makes very nice double kydex holsters. Any inner / outer velcro competition belt will work. A lot of guys are moving towards an outer belt with a ratchet system so they can cinch it down for a stage and then loosen it slightly for the rest of the match. Double alpha Academy, Ghost, CR speed all make nice pouches. Shooters connection, speed shooters international and Ben stoeger's pro shop are the sites I frequent the most for competition gear.

It's the Leap/04. You can find them used for $90 to $100. I almost have my new PCC together and I'm going with this setup too. I can't decide between the 1.57" or the 1.93" height so I picked up both to try. My old setup had the 510C but I'm trying to shave some weight so I gave it to the GF.

The issue is the different widths of the mags. I have setup DAA pouches for Colt mags and they fit with the 2011 inserts. The pouches have a leaf spring for tension, but CZ mags would wobble side to side so I would swap out the inserts to the CZ specific inserts as needed per match. I wouldn't do it at the range between stages. Have you considered a open magnet style pouch? Thanks for the info! I just picked up a few pounds of n310 to play around with. My research reflected n320 a little too slow for the 100gr bullets and accuracy might suffer with low PF loads

A single action conversion is relatively simple, as long as you can detail strip the frame to the point to remove the trigger. I like this Cajun gun works SAO trigger, as it has pre and post travel set screws to eliminate any creep and over travel as much as possible. All you have to do is remove the disconnector and your gun will be single action only. I also recommend CGW's floating trigger pin, it makes reinstalling a trigger so much easier than the stock roll pin. Depending on your budget, I would consider replacing the hammer while you're in there. Don't forget to set up your other CZ the same way, welcome to the rabbit hole!
