  1. If the grips are melted mostly then replace all the springs. If grip is just distorted, then just the grips. If grips actually burn't up then you may have to replace sear, safety, hammer, trigger, firing pin, small parts.
  2. Thanks they were helpfull! Duh Why didn't I think of that for photo's I've a digitial camera!!!!
  3. Next weekend we are having a night shoot. Want some ideas for simple stages using paper targets. One I was thinking of was putting cloths on the targets, then painting the head of a classic target different colors. Then have you choose a color before the run. The rest of targets become no shoots. Also looking for ways to come up with pics of weapons I could print on my color printer then attach them to targets. Again all suggestion will be appreciated. Check out our web site if you'd like to join us. Threegun@att.net
  4. The law enforcement model has a 8 shot tube. Which is too much trouble to redo, solder in a new tube and then move the lug to new position. I've got an old model from LSP prison with slam fire and put a choate pistol grip on it. It is fast and light. and great for a lefty

  7. Trees do get old and die. What we need is a program that thins and replants on regular basis. Norway manages it hardwood forest pretty well why can't we seem to even copy good examples. It is so hard for us to get over the greed factory. Seems corps relieve anybody of responsibility for there actions.

    The Bird

Most birds are thrown from nest and most don't fly on first try and are picked and thrown out again until they get the hang of it. Now that reminds me of life, learn to fly because the alternative sucks.
  9. Thanks guys, my old rulebook didn't have 10.4.5. Only one I could think of was unsafe gun handling. 10.5.10 during movement. Since your in one box, I think movement only applies when your feet are moving. Movement is define in 8.5.1 this is not movement.
  10. Large tip sharpie, doesn't dry out and fits in bag well.
  11. Standing in a shooting box, behind a barricade. You have to shoot the targets on right from left side, targets on right from left side. Many shooters transferred the gun to other hand. During the handoff from one hand to the other the gun fires. Shooters was attempting to engage a target. Which rule?
  12. There guys called Chief AJ, of tribal workshop. He will tune trigger, install over travel, lap the barrel, install threaded muzzle break, put a scout rail on front gas block and tune it to shoot 1 moa with stock barrel and stock. I shot mine occasionally for 3gun mag changes are slow. I got lucky and found 6 factory ruger 30 round mags.
  13. Kodak are easy to use for non-computer people.
  14. Most places only have three walls in a Inverted U shape. Many ranges won't let you fire into the side berms. So the bottom of the U defines down range. Let say they say it is OK to fire into the berms. Which happens on my range our club uses. For targets like the yellow ones I would drop them. But lets say you don't have walls with ports and no restricted shooting boxes. We string some yellow rope up from shooting line to berm, and hang some strips of that red contractors tape from it. The rule is explained before hand, point your guns past the rope or fire a round outside of the rope and your DQ'ed. we setup the rope so that a small infraction does leave you point the gun where there is no berm. We usually leave a 15/20 degree safety margin. So far it has worked OK. No DQ's.
  15. IT called getting old, some do it gracefully, others just get ridged. The most common example I see is people that pinched pennys for years so they could have good retirement, now that they are retired they still can't change and spend the money, so they still take home sugar packs. Time and a hard life wear you down, essentially you become afraid. No longer willing to take a risk or really look at yourself in a truthfull light. You want it to be like it was when you were young and nieve. So many people have disappointed you over the years you don't trust anybody any more. I believe the older you get the harder it is to fall in love. Some become better with age and wisdom. Like a fine wine, others just turn to vinegar. I sure we could come up with some pyscho babble name for it, or some samurai warrior saying. For me it is don't stop learning, and work hard at being flexible and walking in the other guys shoes! IMHO and it won't buy you a cup of coffee.

  17. Some outlaw matches are scary. I visited small free match and lack of rules, and people playing with there guns with mags behind the line sent me home without ever getting involved. So I don't shoot with those guys, oh well. I like the belt and suspenders approach that uspsa has for safety. As far as the match rules, scoring, gun class's. Each area/club will have there own makeup. What makes their shooters happy. Who are we to tell them they are wrong. As long as the post the rules, apply them fairly that's great with me. I like the variety. I get bored with ipsc pistol matches. Yes it is a game and I know that but I believe it has a lot of practical applications. For me it helped the night I had to go under a guys house to shoot a large wounded pit bull. It help the night I took a shotgun out to help my rotty and had a three dogs turn on me. It help the night I got held up at gas station. So lots of people lots of different reasons. My biggest complaint is that scoring systems all leave a lot to be desired. I can't say I have a solution, but if it works for your club great. I really don't think the 3 gunners are that much interested in having 3 gun classifiers? Am I wrong? Then I don't see the value in the $40 a year, $3-$1.50 per shooter fees either. But as gun club owner I see that the national standing does bring people to the match. So I go with the Flow. Maybe 3gun will get that way but for right now lets leave pretty much alone except for safety rules. Lets not have many different kinds of safety rules. I don't like IDPA because of all silly equipment holster rules.
  18. my 11/87 runs fine with them it is a sps 26 inch
  19. backstop 1 & 4 would be a problem, swing close to the 180 and your shooting out the entrance. 2 & 3 would be Ok.
  20. Most 3 gun matches don't have steel far enough away that having adjustable choke helps much. If they did have steel close and far, it would probably help. But reaching up to twist your choke puts your hands close to end of barrel and might lead to DQ for sweeping or 180. It would rattle most Ro's. IMHO
