  1. No, both of mine are 9's. Yes, they are well balanced but heavier than what I was used to shooting (Glocks). I don't think It shoots any flatter than an other similar sized limited pistol. I can shoot my com'p Glocks faster (lower times) but that is an apples to oranges comparison. if you have soft or dish pan hands I doubt that you will like the grip. If your hands are tough, and you are used to shooting aggressive grips, this is the best grip going IMO.
  2. I've never shot or even seen an SVI but I do own a matching set of twin Titan pistols. They are VERY well made, accurate and 100% reliable. The slide feels like it rides on ball bearings and the <1 lb 7 oz triggers are the best that I've ever shot. Accuracy and reliability are also pluses. What's not to like? I really am at a loss to find any cons from these fine pistols.
  3. I'm running 95g over 4.6g TG or 4.8g N320. I've used Clays but it's not as accurate as the other loads.
  4. Bigger is always better for competition or SD. Larger dots are easier and faster to pick up, especially in bright lighting conditions. Small dots are for precision and target shooting.
  5. FP stop plate is beveled / ramped, from the smith who built it. Recoil spring is 10# and main is 17# in stock (limited) mode. I went down to a 7# when the comped barrel was on it. and brass was falling about 12" to my right
  6. Glock34 - Carver 4 top ports, 6 side ports (3/side) 2011 - Bedel Max Ti, 3 top ports, no side ports. https://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/GetImage.ashx?Path=~%2fAssets%2fProductImages%2fBCMC.jpg&maintainAspectRatio=true I've used AC, HS6, Unique and found that WSF was softest recoil with enough gas to work the comp on the G34. Tried those powders and more on the 2011 with little success.
  7. My grip strength is pretty darn good, Bob Vogel-esque if you will. I've been shooting for a lot of years and have worked hard on grip strength and gun control. My current loads for steel challenge is: 95gr coated bullet over 4.6 TG, 1.025" OAL, 123 PF My falling steel / 3 Gun load is: 120gr coated bullet over 4.2 WSF, 1.060" OAL, 131 PF Both loads shoot really flat out of my comp't G34 but out of the 2011, not so much. I'll compare slide weights of the two pistols. I've wondered if the lighter weight Glock is actually easier to control due to the weight. The 2011 is certainly heavier of the two but I wonder if the added weight really does help? Thanks for the suggestions so far.
  8. Let's say you have a really nice 9mm 2011 but you want it to shoot mid minor 130-150 PF loads much flatter, i.e. Less muzzle flip. There are no rules for the games you are shooting. How would you build it to accomplish the goals. Please don't respond by you can't do it without shooting major loads. I know it can be done because I shoot 135 PF loads in my comped G34 and its shoots really flat. I can't understand why I can't do the same with this 2011. Is it due to the weight of the gun? It's got a SS PT grip, full dust cover, PT frame and lightened slide. I put a KKM threaded bull barrel in it with a EGW Ti comp but it still doesn't shoot very flat. I know, bump in the load and make more gas. What else can be done to the gun without upping the load? Remember, I am asking YOU how to build it. Thx...
  9. I use my 34 to shoot steel challenge using KKm barrel and Carver 4 port comp. I load 95 grain lead / powder coated bullets at 1500 FPS. Dot barely moves, it's a fun gun to shoot for sure. I use 120 bullets for falling steel, three gun and 95's for Bowling Pins.
  10. If you have a 5" gun, do you use a 5" standard bushing barrel to fit the cone to or do you have to use a longer or shorter barrel to fit the cone to?
  11. Thanks for the suggestion. The slide release was recently replaced less than a 1000 rounds ago. It just has the black coating worn off and no significant wear in the engagement surface. BTW, I took all of my mags apart and cleaned them today. I had a new 17 mag so I took it apart and compared spring lengths. All 6 of my mags have two coils sticking out after the base plate has been removed and the 17 has three coils sticking out. I wonder if I ordered and replaced with the wrong springs or if the 6 mag springs are just sacked out after a few months of use?
  12. Nope, not using a shock buff. I inserted all of my mags and most looked like this: However, two mags looked like this. The slide release lever tab is barely touching the mag follower and it could fall off the follower quite easily. However, there are two mags like this and they both fail to lock back. There are 5 mags that look like the picture above and they won't lock back either. I measured the width of the feed lips of all magazines and they are within .002" of each other so there is no variations there. I checked the spring on the slide release and its fine. Its the same shape as a new one. The edge of the slide release, that engages with the slide, isn't worn or damaged. My grip is not riding the slide release.
  13. Load has not changed and it is mid-hot. Still chronos the same, 1350 FPS. Factory and SD ammo has been tried and makes no difference. Thanks for the suggestions though.
  14. Hand loads have not changed in two years. Mags are clean but mags won't lock the slide back. Same slide spring though I have tried going lighter but made no difference. I have one mag out of 9 that will lock back occasionally. Tried putting new OEM springs in three mags but that made no difference. All OEM Mags are two years old. Any ideas? Worn followers perhaps? Worn slide release?
  15. Clays is the softest recoiling powder I've ever used.
  16. I use CCIs for practice and Winchesters for matches. I tried 4K S&B and had 10% failure rate in my Glocks with 4.5 lb springs. I've never had a Winchester fail to ignite. Get get about 5/1000 failure rate on CCIs.
  17. What he said! My load is 4.2 @1.060" with a 120 grain cast Lee coated lead bullet. Been shooting this load for three seasons. Extremely accurate, soft and flat shooting.
  18. FoxX Trapp. It's adjustable, light and comfy. Best IWB I've ever worn. I have them for all my Glocks.
  19. I'm looking for a titanium or steel comp for a Gen 4, G34 with KKM barrel (9/16" thread). I get less than a year out of my anodized aluminum comps. Gas cutting is blowing the center holes out of the baffles. Open to suggestions...
  20. I have 6 FF3's. Two 3 MOAs and four 8 MOAs. Frame and slide mounts. Never an issue with any of them. My oldest is 5-6 years old and still on original battery. I shoot 2-3 times per week. Well over 100K on a couple of them.
  21. I can't believe how people get their panties all wadded up by how many times brass has been shot. Geez, I have been loading for over fourty years and I'm still using brass that is older than that! When it splits, pitch it, otherwise load it, shoot it, have fun and stop stressing out FCOL.
  22. G34, KKM threaded barrel, Carver 4 port comp, home cast Lee 95 grain, RNFP, painted with two coats of HiTek, sized to .357". Shoots soft and flat.
