  1. +1 what HI5-0 said. Ordered mine online and the owner communicated just fine via email.
  2. Another vote for Midway bags. i just picked up a medium Glock bag for $29 from RKguns.com and it's pretty impressive for the cost.
  3. Its not the powder that is smoking but rather the nitro in the powder is attacking and softening the paint on your coated bullets, causing the paint to burn smoke. If you load some bullets and let them sit for a month, then pull the bullets you will see the powder flakes sticking to the bases of your bullets. You can research this more over at Cast Boolits .com

  5. Have him try a weird and modified Weaver stance which will look very exaggerated. If he is right handed, place the right foot as far behind him as possible with toe pointing out at 45* angle, then have him lean forward and put most of his weight on his front (bent) leg. This looks odd but provides a firm foundation which the gun will not push him backwards on recoil.
  6. My Just Right Carbine has been 100% flawless, accurate and didn't break the bank at $599! Takes Glock mags which is a bonus since I have a few already on hand. It's flat top and optics ready of your choice. Mine sports a 3x9 Nikon and 1" groups, off the bench, are the norm.
  7. Update, I found this on YouTube and it described my problem to a T. I always (AGRESSIVELY) inserted a full magazine into the mag well with the bolt open, dropped the bolt with the bolt release then fired the weapon. I tried this same method with 3 brand new Magpul mags and the double feed problem would always repeat itself. First chambered round fired, second squeeze of the trigger was mush and nothing happened and when I opened the bolt two live rounds were jammed. Next I inserted all three of the same full mags into the rifle GENTLY, followed by a slight downward tug to ensure the mag was seated, released the bolt with the bolt release and fired the weapon and it worked fine with NO jams. Long story short, I was causing the issues by the aggressive manner I slammed the magazine in the weapon. DUH... Flame away, I learned a lesson the long way that I will not likely repeat.
  8. I had similar issues in cold weather running FP-10. I had a bottle of Ed's Red in my bag, which I generally use to clean the bore. I added a few drops of ER to the slide and barrel and the problem went away.
  9. I have a HF 24c for sale in the classifieds. Used less than 100 rounds down the pipe
  10. I use the Safariland quick ELS clips to mount my holster. You will also want to file a radius the bottom of the Carver mount. It's sharp and digs into the holster when pulling your gun out fast.
  11. I am asking if anyone shoots a DVC " STEEL" model? It's a shorter version, of their 5" open pistol, which is designed to shoot factory ammunition.
  12. 120 Grain Lee cast, powder coated, 4.2 grains WSF, 1.060" OAL. 95 grain Lee cast, powder coated, 4.6 TG or 4.8 N320, 1.030" OAL.
  13. Stock M&P safety. The reset is so short in this trigger, literally unmeasurable, like only a few thousands. I originally put this trigger in my JRC and it would go full auto.

    Red Dot Longevity

My oldest FF III is ending it's 7th season as a slide ride on a G35 and has way over 100K rounds pounding it and it's never missed a beat. BTW it's still running the original battery. It's has dents and scratches all over it so it's certainly not been a safe queen.
  15. I figured it out. I had recently replaced the trigger with a Hyperfire 24C. When I grip the handle too lightly then the short trigger reset combined with recoil makes it go into a double feed or bump fire type operation. I was able to duplicate the issue easily once I figured it out. I guess I have to grip the AR like a pistol now. Who'd thunk it? I guess this isn't a unique problem because I found the answer on Hyperfire's website's troubleshooting section.
  16. I currently have a Hyperfire 24 and its a great trigger but I am looking for a similar light and smooth trigger BUT with a bit longer reset. The HF is just a tad too short of reset than I am used to. What do you suggest? I have a Timney (single stage) in another AR but would like something in two stage. Any suggestions?
  17. I've not seen anyone mention shooting one on the forum. Just wondering how flat and efficient they shoot with factory ammo? Is the comp and barrel one piece?
  18. I am using Magpul plastic mags. Never dropped one though but perhaps I'll try another mag to see if that is the problem. Thanks for your input.
  19. I was at a 3 gun match today. My first three runs were flawless with my S&W Sport (1) AR. It's run flawless for two years until my fourth run today when two live rounds tried to feed into the chamber simultaneously. I lost the round due to the malfunction. Then my next round, same thing. First round fired fine and then when I pulled the trigger it felt like mush so I Manually cycled the bolt and it jammed two rounds again. The rifle was just cleaned today and the mags were cleaned today before the match. Any clue what is going on? Could it be a gas tube problem, Magazine problem or a buffer problem? I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting?
  20. My 9mm STI Trojan has been flawless out of the box. Can't say the same about my my two (former) SA Range Officers in 45 and 9mm!!! After that I'd never own another SA product no matter how much extra money I'd have to put in it. Bandwidth doesn't have enough room to describe the issues I had with BOTH SA pistols. I don't get it how people are so enamored with these guns? There are two other guys that have ROs at our club and they gave up on theirs as well. Save yourself the headaches and steer clear of SA! Heck, i owned a RIA that ran like a top for half the cost of a SA. Granted it's not an STI but at least it ran.

  22. I just got a Just Right Carbine. It's been 100% reliable so far with 300 down the pipe. I've shot only reloads through it, 95 grain, 115 grain and 120 grain coated / cast bullets. I've noticed that accuracy increase as bullet weight increases. I'm getting 1" groups at 75 yards with 120 grain over 4.2 of WSF, which is my minor pistol load. Stock Glock mags. Stock trigger is VERY gritty which will be my first replacement part.
  23. No, both of mine are 9's. Yes, they are well balanced but heavier than what I was used to shooting (Glocks). I don't think they shoot any flatter than an other similar sized limited pistol. I can shoot my com'p Glocks faster (lower times) but that is an unfair apples to oranges comparison. if you have soft or dish pan hands I doubt that you will like the grip. If your hands are tough, and you are used to shooting aggressive grips, this is the best grip going IMO.
