  1. That's looking pretty good! I may need to try one of those big comps myself.
  2. Eli, how tall is that front sight? It looks too short
  3. If you want your pistol to shoot flatter here are my recommendations in order: 1. Switch to 115s 2. Switch to a slower powder like Vihtavuori 3N38 3. Start drilling holes (I recommend switching to jacketed bullets at the same time as I would expect coated bullets to clog the holes in short order). If you choose to drill holes I suggest you lay out four, the start with two in the #1 (closest to the muzzle) and #3 positions, then drill one in the #3 and finally #4 positions, that way regardless of the number you choose, the spacing will look well thought out. You can also choose to start with 5/32" holes and open them up to 3/16". Obviously chrono after each change, if you drill so many holes you have to go to a faster powder or heavier bullet, I think you're moving in the wrong direction.
  4. I think the Quinn mount puts the sight too far forward for use with the V12 Gold Teams: The Cheely mount is the only viable option for a horizontal Cmore: Unfortunately Matt doesn't stock them anymore, but I've backordered four with him, so if anyone wants one please email him and encourage him to run a batch.
  5. I only use sandpaper, it's real easy to wreck parts with a Dremel.
  6. The Czechmate racker is your best bet, 2011 rackers are too small for the CZ dovetail. One member complained it was too loose, but it's worked for me (perhaps the tolerances stacked the wrong way). http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/550047000001_Slide-Racker-For-Tsczechmate-Only
  7. The trouble with converting a decocker to SAO is you then have no safety.
  8. If you still want a little bling you can polish the heads of the screws, I did that on one of mine and it turned out pretty nice; not quite chrome, but shiny.
  9. I get 28+1 in my '90s small frame Tanfos
  10. I was talking to the OP who said "It is way more fun that I ever thought it would be and I have a lot of learning to do. That being said. I have a 22/45 with a side mounted c-more 2.25lb trigger etc that I shoot in rimfire challenge that is an absolute blast." "That being said" is a dead giveaway Out of curiosity, why haven't you shot any Open classifiers Grump?
  11. I'm pretty sure the frame is not stainless, but I've left mine bare for a few years and haven't had issues with rust. I did finish with pretty fine sand paper though. Most people use the factory checkering as a guide for their grip reduction and just remove metal until it's gone, but I plan to go further and haven't designed what I want to do yet.
  12. Mark my words: once you get an Open gun in your safe, that's what you're going to want to shoot, accept the power of the dark side!
  13. Good morning Pete, welcome to the forums 1. No, the TS and the Czechmate have many unique parts among the CZ75 pattern pistols and the mag release is one of them; it can be ground down, but there is no drop in replacement which is shorter. 2. Grind away! 3. There is a lot of extra metal on a TS, I'm actually working on a project to remove six ounces from one, this is my inspiration: 4. Yes, I've tried just about every hammer on the market and this is my favorite: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/40108_Concealed-Hammer-Sa-Only Combined with polishing the hammer strut, trigger bar, pin holes and the inside of the frame where those parts rub, it can produce a light crisp break.
  14. There are many in this sport who insist beginners belong in Production, but I disagree. There are great shooters in each division and each division presents it's own challenges, it's very obvious you want to shoot Open, I recommend you shoot Open. I don't mean "commence dabbling in Open when you have the chance to shoot two guns", I mean scour the classifieds, ask around the club, find a good deal on a used Open gun and jump in! If you get stuck in a rut you can always shoot Production to change things up, but don't expect that to happen for a few years There are many in this sport who perpetuate the idea you have to put in time and earn your chops in a "lesser division" before you can shoot a big fancy Open gun, but I strongly disagree. Like I said above, there are no lesser divisions. We play this sport for fun, so have fun!
  15. 650 all day long! I learned on a 550, bought a 650, tried an autodrive 1050 and sold it in favor of my 650 with case and bullet feeders:
  16. You might try different screws, I use some from my local hardware store with that dusted black finish and I don't even need Loctite.
  17. I'm perfectly happy with the CZC base pads, but I would be all over a Henning-style magwell for my TS!
